I love Orijen dog food! That’s what I fed my Husky when he was a puppy. He is 11 years old now and 92 pounds which is huge for a Husky. His dad was 55 pounds and his mom was 45 pounds. He weighs as much as them combined lol. If you get Orijen though you need a container for it. It definitely smells.
I heard since Orijen was bought by Champion Foods, they began using cheaper ingredients. Have you noticed a difference in quality or how your dogs’ health is, etc.?
@@LastSifuI’ve been using them since 2010 with about 6 doggos all different ages and now a recently added GSD pup, they’ve all loved it and no issues. 😊
@@GG_BEATSI doubt you put Chicken, Turkey, Whole Mackerel, Whole Herring, Salmon, Dehydrated Chicken, Dehydrated Chicken Liver, Oat Groats, Millet, Chicken Liver, Eggs, Turkey Giblets (Liver, Heart, Gizzard), Chicken Fat, Dehydrated Herring, Dehydrated Eggs, Natural Chicken Flavor, Whole Oats, Ground Whole Flaxseed, Pollock Oil, Quinoa Seed, Chia Seed, Chicken Heart, all in one day of feeding… raw is cool and all and cheap but to get all the other nutrients orijen is the way
We cook our puppy a combo of Turkey/Salmon with lentils, veggies, sweet potatoes, blueberries, and brown rice. Since I work at Whole Foods I get a discount on all the stuff. He also gets a bowl of puppy food everyday. It’s Libery Puppy from Bixbi. You get to the 9th ingredient before there is anything you can’t pronounce and there are three meats and no meal. The best dog food I’ve seen.
@@richsky615 French Bulldog owner for well over a decade, foster and rescue with two of the largest French Bulldog rescues in the country, and I can honestly tell you that Carna4 is going to save you a lot of the common issues that Frenchies are known to have and that's regurgitation and acid reflux, as well as allergies and inflammation. The way the kibble breaks down and the way it is made is air dried, it's easy chew, and it is the next step below going raw. Trust me. Spend the money🤙🏼
Farmina is a great food as well. It has is high in animal-based protein and has quality ingredients. We like protein rotation and brand rotation. Farmina is a great compliment to Orijen. We often have customers pick a few brands and rotate between them monthly so they get a variety of foods.
Our foster dog was accustomed to eating human food all the time and was very picky! Every dog food would be left untouched or a lot left. We switched to Fromm and he ate the whole thing, expensive but worth it!
What’s up man ! I have a 7 month old South African boerboel , just switched up to orijen large puppy amazing grains ! She devours it ! I had her on pro purina large puppy but it’s obvious this has the better ingredients ! I’m just trying to figure out if the protein content of 38% is to much but if it is do I feed her lighter? Or what do u recommend switching it up every once in a while to a lesser protein content .. I don’t wanna make her grow crazy fast because she already is and to protect t the joints ! Any recommendations? Thank you
I've been trying to decide on orijen and wellness puppy food for my Yorkie that I'll be getting in October. Which brand do you think would be the best for a Yorkie puppy? Right now the gentleman who has him is feeding him blue buffalo puppy food.
Hi i have husky 3 months and giving orijien.. as per table of orijien serving 75g per day.. im confused about how much i should give her.. should i mix 75g with something else
Orijen is being bought by Mars. Please check to make sure there are no changes to the ingredients over time. If your dog stop liking the food or all of a sudden having symptoms after eating, it’s possible the ingredients have changed but it may not be reflected yet in the ingredients list. It’s disappointing when companies sell themselves, everything shouldn’t be about money. What about the integrity of the food or product? I’m tired of every company allowing themselves to be bought out by Amazon. Amazon is a threat to small businesses and I refuse to support Jeff Bezos. Okay now I’m ranting. Bye.
@@israelcastellon4478 They are changing them slowly. I think. So personally I switched into N&D Grain free Prime series. (With lamb) Although, kibbles are not the best diet for our dogs so I always mix it with fresh meat/food.
I just wanted to ask a question I’m looking to get a American Akita dog pure breed from a high reputable breeder and I just wanted to ask what would happen to my Akita puppy if I was to feed him the Orijen puppy? instead of puppy large I did call the company orijen uk and they said for the dog breed I want it’s best to feed him puppy large which is fine but what would happen if I feed him the normal puppy one ? I do want my Akita to come out looking nice a big but also muscular I want his coat to be nice and shiny and healthy Thank you
My veterinarian recommended I stopped feeding my American Bully XL pup Orijen because of heart issues it can have down the road. He seemed to love it and it make him huge because of the high protein content in it. I got him Purina Pro large breed and he seems not to like it as much, he rather eat my Miniature Dachshunds food which is Royal Canin. What should I do? Thanks
Our best suggestion is to find a holistic vet and/or animal nutritionist to help you find the best food for your dog. Karen Becker and Judy Morgan are two great resources to check out. We aren't animal nutritionists, but based on information from professionals we trust, we feel a diet high in animal based protein and low in carbs is ideal. Minimally processed, high moisture diets are even better. We are not aware of any peer reviewed studies that have provided actual evidence that grain free food can cause DCM, which is likely the heart issue your vet was referring to. Best of luck!
@@kingAlpha14 I finally called a company called mud bay in the Seattle area, and they printed out papers by the FDA, and after conclusion they didn’t find anything that would hurt feeding your pups Orijen. They also had a non-grain kibble for my pup and ran with it last night.
@@rdiaz206 Yes, Orijen makes a grain inclusive kibble, and yes the original study did not prove a connection between grain free food and DCM. Best of luck!
In the end of the day dry dog food is never going to be freesh and is the LEAST nutritional and protein, that’s why it’s the cheapest form of food. If you can afford it switch to “Wet dog food” or just meat
You shouldn’t advertise food that you really don’t know is good for dogs most of the brands you just named is proven to give dogs dcm Orijen especially
I wouldn't feed my puppies Oren or asana anymore now that they are owned by mars now. cause they are going to remove good ingredients with cheaper ingredients now. so its no longer healthy for your dog anymore. im taking my puppies off of scan dog food and feeding them Stella and chewy now cause its more healthier for them.
This guy has no idea what he is talking about. I find it hilarious many people are taking advice from some stranger who has no formal education in pet nutrition. 🤣 Stop feeding acana and all these other brands of dog foods. What matters is the AAFCO statement and gurantee Analysis. Once you master that you will know the top foods are pruina pro plan science diet Royal Canine. Stop reading pet food ingredients it's not helping you one bit. Lol 😆
Dog food cost the same money as human food. So why would you even bother to feed your dog totaly junk. That gives your dog the runs. All dog food should be band
