❤️Four-Substance Tonic Chicken Soup - Fen & Lady First
💛Main Ingredients:
Chicken (free-ranged) 900g
Rice wine (first distillation) 150-200cc
Water 1500cc
💛Chinese Medicinal Herbs:
Four-Substance Herbal Soup Pack 1 pack (150g)
Chinese dates (Jujubes) 5 pieces
Red dates (Jujubes) 5 pieces
Astragalus root (黃耆) 10 slices
Goji berries (枸杞) 1 tablespoon
💛Main Tools:
Electric Cooker
Gas stove
❤️Instructions:
1. Blanch the chicken: Clean the free-range chicken, and blanch it in boiling water until the surface turns white.
2. Slow cook in an electric cooker: Place the blanched free-range chicken into the pot, and add the Chinese medical herbs. Add 1500cc of water and 150cc of rice wine. Place it in the electric cooker with an additional 180cc of water in the outer pot. After the electric cooker stops, continue simmering for an additional 20 minutes.
3. Boil over an open flame & skim off oil: Boil the soup over an open flame on a gas stove, skimming off any floating oil.
4. Remove Chinese herbs: Remove the Four-Substance herbal ingredients, leaving only the chicken, red dates, Chinese dates, and goji berries in the herbal soup.
5. Re-extract the Chinese herbs: Use another pot and a small amount of water to reheat the remaining Chinese herbs. Re-extract them over low heat to enhance the aroma of the soup. The soup can be consumed separately or added back to the Four-Substance chicken soup.
