Only on FOX, more allegations are being brought against the director of the City of South Houston's Animal Shelter by former animal control officers who resigned. FOX 26's Randy Wallace has the latest details after touring the facility.

This has to be the hardest shelter to adopt from. You can’t visit or see the animals. I went here several times to look for a friend’s lost dog and NOBODY was there during business hours. You have to call animal control and wait almost an hour for someone to let you in because the employees/volunteers that work at the shelter are NEVER there during business hours. They wouldn’t even allow anyone inside to look. This shelter needs a complete policy overhaul!

They are the worst!!!! I waited hours for days trying to help a dog there. I’ve called many times about injured and aggressive dogs dumped .. they won’t even lift a finger!!! I’ve helped more than I can count because of how worthless soho animal control is

Jana Lee Martinez should be arrested and jailed. She already removed the comment section from her FB. She is a coward. There needs to be consequences for the treatment of these animals.

No. The director of this animal shelter did, plus committed fraud... Texas didn't do that. She did.

There are quite a few crooked shelter directors in Texas & California (& many other states). If there was Federal oversight across the board, most of it would stop. One particular shelter had a director pulling in income of around $250,000 /year while the dogs were treated horribly. Money meant for improvements would disappear. And, this particular director was claiming disability, yet her Instagram had her jet setting around the world to Paris & Milan where she schmoozed with models & celebreties for her side business as a photographer. Just absolutely disgusting people. Shelter directors should be people in the rescue community with good solid reputations as honest people doing the hard work for the animals.

Sad in Galveston County ( Hitchcock ) people have their dogs in small cages outside the yards at nights and days they're barking and crying, same horses they cry a lot exposed to gasses in the ground

They need to close that shelter for good. All these shelters that are full, not taking dogs, and not adopting dogs out are a waste of taxpayer money.

Animal cruelty, but ELDERIES are being abused. Not able to go out without help and have to stay home when they blow the gasses all to their homes. Is something wrong in my country?
