I'm really enjoying this new meta. It could still be improved, but after years of playing "Call of Duty" with planes in the top tier, this is a breath of fresh air
@@jussi8111 more fun than you're expecting. makes you treat the hostiles with a lot of caution so you need to pick your targets wisely and play defensively. its quite fun.
A lot of people were saying it'd change the dynamic of ALL of warthunder but honestly realistic will never change no matter what. it will always be an absolute mess lol
Just so you know, you can now independently deploy chaff and flare, that’s what’s that armament me u is for. You can also you shift+D to cycle C/F selection
All sim is missing now is really true volumetric clouds (that effect visibility of your own aircraft), condensation clouds on the aircraft, AWACS, more ground battles for CAS, helicopters, and actual useable TV monitors so you dont have to swap to a different view to operate them.
Hi, i wanna share something i learnt from playing DCS which should already be in war thunder as well, its about the HUD of the Su27s and Mig29s when you have someone in a radar lock, you can see on the left bar (left line that runs pretty much the entire height of the hud) you can see 3 little boxes and the arrow, so all of that indicates if the missile is launched now what is the POK (probability of kill) so basically you have 2 boxes on the lower end of that line that close together, and if you have the arrow in between those two boxes that indicates that if you launch the missile at that moment you would have the highest POK. And if the arrow is not between the bottom two boxes , the launch will less likely result in a kill. However waiting so long can get u killed. I didn't fly the western jets, though i do think that the F16 and F15 have that, i am not sure if it was a Circle on the hud that shrinks or was it something else.
I learned recently that the left side bar of the HUD shows you optimal range for the r77. If the arrow is between the the top and middle block I believe it shows the missile will hit its target during terminal phase (when the missile no longer is providing its own thrust, I may have the term wrong) and if it’s between the bottom two blocks it will hit during boost phase. When firing offensively it helps a lot. Any idea if that is accurate? Great video btw!
As a "anything-but-US-planes" main my eyes sparkle with joy when I read R37m, but Im afraid that thing would be a bit too strong to handle for the other side :)
@@Spicysauced Well if we could get Mig-31 that could carry them or just one for S-30 I guess it would be fine. Still sub 20km R77 is annoying but workable missile.
The HMD being on all the time is realistic though (at least on the viper and f15) because you turn on the HMD by turning a brightness knob to on. Wich is not located near you hotas. So you either have it in all the time or off all the time. Not sure if it's accurate on the 29
Not sure how it is IRL. In DCS you enable it with a button, and you disable it by being in any other mode (BVR, Cannon, ACM, Navigation). Thats the best reference I have.
@@Spicysaucedthat's only for the FC3 planes with helmet mounted sights. The 29 and 27 don't have a HMD anyway since it does not have an actual display, it is just an illuminated circle basically.
@freakmusicaddict In the Viper you set Brightness with the knob and the turn it on and off with DMS Down long. Both in Falcon BMS (first implementation) and in DCS.
I don't think the hmd being active when you start is a bug (though highly possible) there is a control called "Switch to HMD indication" and you can turn it on/off whenever you wish.
For me i just cant make r77 work i mean they are more of a close range missile but even than they lose lock so often the stat card say it can pull 50g but my expirience was like 25 to 30g at best i dont know about derby and r darter but so far i think r77 is the worst from all of fox 3s added this patch😢
@@voidex136 That is not possible .. there is no data connection between your plane and an IR missile. Once it has locked on to anything, it will fly there.
@@Spicysauced even if It still on my plane(when I did not fire it)? If I have several weapons I can switch between them to disable IR seeker when it lock on a wrong target. But if I have only 1 type of missiles I don't know what to do
j8f should be 12.7 for sure... unless they make it as it always should have been in my opinion, which is loadout based BR.. if you take fox3s you get high be, if you don't you get low br... they should make it like this asap..
Doesnt really matter in sim since its facing 13.0s all the time anyway. I tested it, its hard though. 2 Amraams vs 6 or more ... plus being outnumbered all the time on team B. So Id say let it stay where it is for sim. What happens in RB is not my business though :)
Why should we play Mig-29 when we got F-16? Mig-29 is a dog shit and i say it as a dude who did born grow in a post Soviet State. F-16 is so badass...that i want the Belgian one. I got chiong chiongs till J-11, but i just don't want to suffer with J-11A.
Unfortunately it is. They nerfed it for R-27ER sake. Hope it will be powered up again now everyone has a decent radar missile. Or it will be abandoned forever
@@D0gEAtD0g I don't really think it should be upgraded. Semi-active radar homing missiles are outdated like in real life. What's outdated, is outdated for ever.
