I wondered if the disappearing was a metaphor for conformity. That it causes you to lose yourself. But then again, being 'the' spirit of chaos, Discord may not have a reason to exist if he tries to not be chaotic.

This episode is my favorite in the entire series. Discords struggle reminded me of my grade school years and how I kept trying to change myself so that other people would like me. It was only after finding a friend who was kind and genuinely cared about me in spite of my weirdness that I finally overcame that mentality and learned to like myself for who I was. In one episode, Discord became the character I could relate most to and it made me cry. The message is a powerful one and I'd recommend this episode to anyone for that reason alone. It's a shame it was released at the same time as The Perfect Pear. That episode overshadowed it badly. Don't get me wrong, The Perfect Pear is a great episode. It's just great for other reasons. Discordant Harmony deserved it's own release date.

This was a fun sequel to a prior review, and a fun review. :) This episode is adorable and charming to me. Also, I vote for the Tricky Hat in a later review too.

If you pause the video at about 4:28 he basically gives the exact same facial expression as he did when he said 'WHERE' to Starlight in the season 6 Finale. Talk about chilling.

The fact that this episode showed how they are close to killing him, it is just out right dark.

Very enjoyable video. Ari is so great here and every time she gushes makes me want to squee. And I can see it as being believable that Fluttershy had never been to Discord's up until now. Why? Because I live that. I have maintained a long distance relationship for four years next month, and that is not including the long distance friendship that started between us a year and a half before we got together. We have only managed to meet up in person a handful of times since then, with me going to see her for the majority and her managing to come to me once. It's just more convenient and easier for me to make the trip to her than vice versa and I can see that with Discord and Fluttershy. But even so, both them and us manage to continue something precious we cherish above all else. ^_^

Love this episode. Cute, simple, filled with Discord shananigans, and explores what Discord and Fluttershy's relationship is like with just the two of them.

I really liked this episode and yeah Flutters here was phenomenal, definitely my fav portrayal of her this season. But man did the subtext get dark! I know death is a dark content, but loosing your very existence? That's even darker in my opinion. Kudos to DHX for going that far, wow!

I was wondering what happened after you got sent into space. Glad to know you're back on solid ground. You have a nice intro sequence. That last scene was cute and funny too. I remember a book called *Al Capone Does My Shirts* . Basically some kids advertise Alcatraz's laundry service to their school and initially the kids were hesitant to take their offer. Once they do get their clothes back, the students were disappointed their clothes...were clean, instead of stabbed, bloody or maps for booze stashes. The same reaction was with my friends when I joined JROTC (Aramau, tell your beau this. He'll get a kick out of it.) A lot of guys thought I was gonna get in trouble since I usually do in other classes. However, I ended up being an okay cadet corporal, and got along with my SAI (because we were both Guatemalan). Guess it's true what they say about the uniform. The only real differences here is, one's a service advertised as a novelty, the other is a guy keeping a promise for a friend, and the last one is DISCORD SHE LIKES YOUR CHAOTIC SELF! DON'T CHANGE! NORMALITY AND MEDIOCRITY WILL DESTROY YOU!

I really want to hear John de Lancie sing either “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin or “You’re Welcome” from Moana.

This video is actually a pretty good representation of my friendship with my best friend Mickey. When we first "met" in elementary school, we were in the same class together and I was downright TERRIFIED of her. I hadn't actually spoken a word to her, but I was completely convinced that she was going to bully me or just flat out ignore me like most of the other kids did. I had so many bad experiences with my fellow classmates to the point that I actually tried to not be noticed by anyone so that I wouldn't get hurt like I always did. I was really shy, reserved, quiet, and liked stuff that most other girls did not. I don't remember if I actually was ever bullied by another girl, but I know for sure that I was bullied by the boys even though I did like a lot of the same stuff they liked such as Pokemon, Transformers, video games, and more (this was nearly 20 years ago, and it wasn't exactly well accepted for girls to like boy stuff or vise versa at that age like it is today). I just didn't want to take the risk of being bullied or hurt anymore than I already was, so I just believed it would be better if no one paid attention to me. When I first saw this loud, energetic, and outgoing girl, I thought for certain that Mickey would bully me due to how different we were and would be mean to me without even giving me a chance. Any time she got too near me, I'd try to hide myself or something. I was just that scared. Then came the day of signing our year books. She came running up to me and asked me to sign her book as she signed mine. This was the first time we had ever actually spoken to each other, and I was a bit surprised that she wasn't mean to me. Then I worried about how she'd react to seeing my name. I have a pretty long name and was actually made fun of by several other kids for having such a long name. It really made me subconscious about signing year books. Luckily, I did have one trick up my sleeve. Despite being the biggest target for bullying in the entire school, I did excel at one thing that actually earned me nothing but praise from others and no one dared to hurt me over: art! I was the best artist in the entire school and everyone just loved to watch me work and see what I came up with! So, I decided that instead of signing my name, I'd draw up a little doodle for her! She really loved my drawing and ran off with a smile, making me so relieved that I actually managed to make a good impression to her and possibly even saved myself from being bullied by her. To my surprise, she actually wanted to hang out with me the next day. As it turned out, she loved my doodle so much that she showed it to her mom and her mom encouraged her to try to make friends with me, something she actually already wanted to do after finally being able to meet me. I was pretty nervous about hanging out with her at first as it was the first time anyone at school actually wanted to play with me, but things ended up turning out pretty well. We actually kept hanging out almost every day after that and became really good friends. In fact, I think Mickey was the very first friend I ever made on my own! Every other friend I had at the time was either the child of a family friend, someone my mom babysat, or was my relative. This was the first time I actually made my own friend without someone else getting involved. Eventually, our moms decided to meet up after hearing us talk so much about each other and wanted to meet the friend we made. My mom was so happy that I finally made a friend at school and admitted to Mickey's mom that she was really worried about me as I am autistic, and Mickey's mom then revealed that her daughter is also autistic. They were both really happy that we made friends with someone with the same disability. They actually ended up becoming best friends themselves and even began a business together, a small dance and theater company that aimed to help inspire and motive kids with disabilities. Almost 20 years later, Mickey and I are still best friends! But, if you just knew us individually, you probably wouldn't be able to guess it due to how different we are. Okay, so I was right about one thing when I first saw her: we are complete opposites. I'm quiet and shy, like darkness and prefer simple things and rainy days, hate sports and love art, while Mickey is loud and outgoing, likes light and anything sparkly and sunny days, loves sports and really hates her own art skills. Yet, despite these differences that would make anyone question our friendship, we're all the right kinds of opposites! She's really helped me break out of my shell and better express myself, making me prouder and more daring. Meanwhile, I help real her back whenever she gets a little too crazy and show her new things that she never would have had an interests in only to end up loving it. Actually, just last year, we ended up switching roles in our odd dynamic and I encouraged her to be more daring about something and she ended up finding a new kind of fashion that was perfect for her but she was extremely hesitant about because she worried that it wouldn't suit her figure only to find that the shirt I encouraged her to try on perfectly flattered her. I actually pointed the switch to her as it was the very first time that I had pushed her into trying something she was uncomfortable with. We had a big laugh about it and she was really proud of me for finally reaching a point when I can encourage someone to be daring and expressive, something which she normally did for me. We're still complete opposites after all these years, but we do find a lot of things we do have in common and been brought even closer by our shared interests. Nowadays, we're practically sisters. I really hope our odd friendship lasts for the rest of our lives and that we will grow old and wrinkly together, still the best of friends even in death. We've lasted this long, and I honestly cannot imagine what my life would be like without her.

Not the actual food and/or beverages! So I’m ok with the references. The actual sining ginseng or butterfly sandwiches?
