I don’t get too crazy with software but i really love Easel by Inventibles! I’m gong to start doing some mid week videos on the program!

Dang, Merry Christmas to you! It's a nice CNC but man, too bad they use proprietary bearings and rails. Would be nice if it were on Linear rails so you could expand it. The one thing I did like about the Mastuer Pro was that I could buy off-the-shelf rails and make it bigger. I think my next CNC will be one I build myself. This 4040 is nice if you never have to do anything very large or want to scale it up down the road.

I plan on doing the upgrade to linear rails and expansion as they become available! It’s a very strong machine though! Can’t wait to do more with it!

I think I may have a faulty machine. I have this exact machine and use my son’s Easel Pro account but cannot get it to set up and cut. Would you possibly do a video of connecting it to the laptop and show every step you take to get Homing done and then using the z-probe then setting an example file and doing the first cut. You were off camera during this and I could not see the buttons being pushed on your laptop. Also maybe try UGS Universal G-Code Sender and set it up. When homing does Z go up to the top Should X be reversed etc… I have broken 5 bits 2 when starting a cut because it homes itself first for some reason.

thanks for the review but the music is way too loud compared to your voice? It's not pleasant to juggle many times the volume button.

I have the foxalien vasto. The machine is pretty solid built, but the spindle is not enough for aluminum work

At 12;37 you say that you are going to hook it up to Easel then skip to it already being hooked up. I need that part explained. Also at 13:43 you home the machine and set the z probe up but don’t show how that is z probe is done. After you move the machine to the front left corner and do the z probe setting it. Please show setting the X Y Axis to tell the machine where the corner of the work area is.

Thanks for this video. However I think that exposed Y rails would be cover by debris disturbing a smooth travel that is not good for finish. I hope I am wrong. I just have a small 1419 for milling PCBs. I am looking for a 4040 CNC like FoxAlien 4040XE or Genmitsu. Now seen yt CNC reveiws videos

They are covered and I highly recommend to clean them after each cut especially if you don’t have a dust collector! It will take a really bad compacted Y axis to really mess things up.

What would you say are the main benefits of this 4040xe vs the masuter pro? And do you think this is a better choice for first time cnc owners who will primarily be working with hardwoods ?

For hardwoods the XE Pro is a better way to go! The Linear rails will have way less flex then belts! With belts ….. missed steps are common. Spend the money now and you’ll be happier later!

do these machines come with all the software im looking at getting into it but kinda want a machine thats comes with its own software so i can learn faster thank you

Hey bud! So they don’t come with propriety software. If you’re a beginner i do recommend using Easel or Easel Pro ($24 a month) to learn on. You can design and send g-code directly to the machine! There are others too but honestly Easel is great and super easy! I mainly use Easel myself! Message me if you have any other questions!
