Yellow 93-01 is amazing! Im not a vert guy but i would definitely rock that!! Something about the yellow on yellow wheels gets me, always loved that combo.

I’m not a very guy either. But there are a few I’d own. I used to not like the yellow wheels on this one. But the nostalgia hits me strong these days. It’s definitely a looker and very unique.

The painted 99/01 Cobra wheels look quite nice on the SSC. Interesting the Sn95 offset fit so well, particularly in the back.

Seems the 17x8 94-04 factory wheels fit ok in the back of a fox Saleen. The fronts don’t do so well with the Lincoln/SVO rotors. The bearing cover hits the centercap. So you can’t run a centercap.

Bob, enjoyed the video. This is little off topic however question about the few automatic Saleen cars. We’re the AOD transmissions left stock or were the valve bodies or stall converters changed. Thank you.

Hey Mark, The auto transmissions weren’t touched. Not many autos out there as Saleen sold 5 speed models as the standard.

Where is a good place to find when the next car shows are? I am ready to take my Saleen to a show one day soon. looking for a show in Ga. hopefully. Thanks for your content. It has been inspirational on getting mine cleaned back up from long storage.

I wondered what was going on when I saw that 85-018 had "GT" bodyside moulding piece on the passenger side, because I knew the car was an LX. Then I see the LX piece on the passenger side.

That Calypso Saleen is sooooo clean on the outside. I'm new to the foxbody community and love the Saleens. I just bought a 1990 GT and am looking to add some Saleen modifications. I was curious what kind of wheels are on the Calypso Green Saleen if anyone could ID them.

The wheels are Face I Stern wheels. Also known in the Saleen community as “one piece Sterns”. They are fairly hard to come by. There are some “SC” wheel replicas that are close but aren’t exactly the same. Much more affordable solution there. The OE Saleen Stern wheels will set you back as much as a high mileage worn out used Fox. And check out the other videos on the channel. There is one in depth of that Calypso Saleen.

Great Video! On 93-01, the sticker said $1,500 for ‘special tuning’, any idea what they did? Maybe dynoed it with timing/FMU adjustments? I don’t think Saleen had the ‘chip-master’ software yet, but I could be wrong.

It may have just been a "revenue generator" for them. My best guess is that they changed the disc in the FMU to support bigger injectors. It's definitely not software related at that time. It's a mechanical change of some kind.

@@PuristMotorsports ‘Revenue Generator’. I like that. An injector change would of necessitated a mass air change also, so for the money I doubt that. Probably just moved the boost timing master knob to ‘2’ instead of max at ‘3’ and enjoyed the extra revenue.

Yeah. It’s a necessary evil. It’s actually an interior screw. Although panel bond would work well these days. But it ain’t coming part! 😂

Other then the collector value of saleens i wouldnt want one . Rather build a fox my way 347 or 363 . S351s are nice but still rather have a terminator and the DOHC over the SOHC 2v 4.6 or 351s they stuck in the SNs and New Edges

I hear ya. Owning a Saleen is a double edged sword. It’s unique but if you tear into it, the value gets hurt long term. I’m already planning my next project. It will bot be limited to Saleen spec stuff. I agree. The DOHC Termi is hard to beat. The Gen II and III coyotes are the ticket now. But my next one will be a pushrod that challenges those.

Your video was the last video I watched before I went to bed last night. I ended up having a 101.5 fever and I kept having a reoccurring dream that I was finding Saleen parts trying to look for a friend’s 87 Saleen he had in college. I actually found a box style truck in my dream with Saleen graphics on it that delivered all the new Saleens the owners LOL
