It's truly amazing to see how much you've improved since yesterday, just keep at it! Also as a sidenote, don't worry about clogging up the voice channels, I can say from experience that the best moments usually come from goofy conversations within the game and there is nothing more harrowing than a completely silent mass of people :) and if there is something important to be communicated, it usually goes through either Discord or the squad channels, rather than the public channels - but if you're still reluctant about talking, you can just type in the [local] chat and the message will just show up above your head
12:13 You were walking in barbed wire lol It's always funny to see what conclusions new players draw from the game and what's happening around them! Keep up with the series, it's extremely entertaining!
While watching I decided to make a list of answers for you. Brace yourself this is one massive comment. 1:43 You don't take constant damage from wounds unless you are bleeding (blood droplet in top left, right under your stamina bar) so you were fine. 6:40 Foxhole is push-to-talk, default key is T I believe, so no worries. Also when you talk a speaker symbol appears over your head. I suggest turning voice chat on, you're missing out on (IMO) the main part of the game this way. Of course play however you like to play. 11:10 Oh you figured bleeding out. While anyone can pick up a med or trauma kit and heal people, most of the time they'll be wearing the dedicated medic uniform. On the Warden (your) side, look for a white backpack with a green cross. They also have white armbands. Colonial medics have a white helmet with a green cross and have a folded stretcher on their back. 12:07 What actually happened there is you walked into barbed wire. If you look closely, you can see it along the right side of the trench. Trenches can be upgraded with either barbed wire or sandbags (which you can see on the left side of that trench). 16:30 YES! I wanted to mention this on your last video, but decided to check to see if you'd already figured it out first. God it was painful watching you walk halfway across the continent to get to the front. 17:04 They're called push guns/ field guns, there's a whole bunch of variants for different roles. These are FMGs, field machine guns. 18:37 Those are medkits or trauma kits. Anyone holding one is almost certainly a medic, but I suggest also looking for the medic uniform which I described earlier, since medics won't be holding them out constantly. 23:23 You got run over by the bicycle. If you get run over by human powered vehicles (bicycles, push guns) you get knocked down, but if you get run over by a motor vehicle you just die. And that's it. It's nice seeing a new player's perspective of the game, going in with no info. I like your videos, keep up the good work. See you on the battlefield o7
Welcome to Foxhole! I've been playing since 2017 and this game is the best value for money I've ever gotten out of a video game. If you want to try playing a medic next time, you can make a huge difference by keeping your comrades alive and fighting. It's easier to master than shooring and it makes you feel like a hero all the time. Just take out a medic uniform, if available, and equip it. Then take out one medkit, one trauma kit, and fill the rest of your inventory with 10-15 bandages and the rest with plasma. Bandages are ammo for the medkit (healing) and plasma is the ammo for the trauma kit (reviving). Everyone loves medics and you don't die as often when you play one, but you can make a big difference. Also, always feel free to ask for help and to offer help over voice or text chat. Unless you're spamming voice chat with nonsense during a tense moment, no one will think you're being disruptive. If they do, which is rare, they can just mute you (alt-click on a friendly > mute, if you need it). The community is very friendly and there's always something to get involved in somewhere if you're not afraid to talk to strangers. As the war progresses, more complex technology gets unlocked so there will be even more to do (artilery, tanks, amphibious landings, etc).
Loving this. I did choose the Wardens as well and I really could relate to that satisfying feeling of being able to contribute in whatever way I could from being just one more rifleman to the front to even the guy fetching ammo boxes for the machine gunners.
Filthy collie here, Very interesting to see shard 2’s raging battle for Callahan’s passage from the other perspective. We’ve been at that same chokepoint for 3 days!
Look at these cute lil lesser shard battles (nah im joking its great, but damn it looks so calm) Always good to see more people shedding light on this crack addicting game we've been stuck on for years, welcome, wardens best, try get onto shard 1 when your done with your training wheels
Good video, I'm interested to see how much you learn, and grow into a fierce and effective warden soldier. This game is great, and it really is a journey. Best of luck to you good sir. I hope you continue playing.
battle medic is always a pretty fun archetype to play, anywhere, if the game allows for that. I play a healer in another MMO, and it's so rewarding to see your team always on the fight, especially when the enemy tries to take _you_ out for being the healer, and being thwarted by your non-fighting.
Reformist you have seen nothing of foxhole, wait until new tech is reserched and then you have tanks, artillery, flamethrowers, rocket artillery, etc its very fun
Thank you for reminding me of how much fun this game is when you're just starting out. I'm definitely a vet and greatly enjoy the game still. But, the discovery of the game mechanics and interactions is wonderful to watch. I shared you on my clans discord to remind other vets to take it easy on lower ranked fellas. There's an issue with alting (basically spies ruining things) that we need to be reminded that mostly it's just new guys without a mic learning and enjoying the game. Welcome to foxhole!
You need to play this more this game would be good for your channel I've watched your stuff for a while this game is amazing you need this we need this
I think that if you were to actively talk to these players in these situations, it would be just as entertaining as commentating to us. Which you could still do if you were solo traveling or doing relatively mundane tasks, awesome that you're playing regardless
I would love to know what time you play to run alongside you, I've loved Foxhole for years and am super happy to see the game reach full release. I can totally be your pocket medic.
good video man! You shouldnt be afraid of clogging comms, its there to be used. Ask people around you if you're curious about anything they will be glad to tell you.
i play medic from time to time and a single "thank you" can honestly be motivating, feel free to use your coms as much as you can, there are other people out there even using sound pad and noone really bothers (unless its a covert operation since coms is the key to that) but frontline battle nah its all good
If your character walk over barb wire it will do the funny walk and slowed down, you walked over a barbed wire trench that's why you do the funny walk hahaha
So i see your playing on baker shard (what used to be live 2) and just a heads up, most of the community plays on alpha shard. On alpha shard its a north south war right now (the best classic war experience you can get) with majority of the regiments or clans also there and active. Generally its more intense there with the more players and regiment ops going on so I highly recommend you play on alpha shard even if its full sometimes. You also can play a different faction as nothing transfers over from the different shards
Don'f worry about wasting ammo, get what you need is what it means, get what you need granades and ammo, and don't be shy to take stuff, as long as your using it well and not getting full inventories you can get what you need.
Is this the Baker shard? Really enjoying your foxhole gameplay vids. I've noticed that you are shooting out of effective range with the loughcaster. Genrally, try to shoot within the white line as there is damage falloff. I am unsure if Freerk's vids showcases the damage falloff. Argenti (collie rifle) has lower effective range but shoots faster. Also, I am unsure if you spoke in local as your press to talk icon (white speaker icon) above your head isnt popping up while you were trying to talk. Pretty sure everyone will love a calm soothing British voice to calm them when the artillery shells start falling and everyone panicking. Also, i think its fine to mix in some GRENADES! or Meeeedic!! with the commentary. Good luck and have fun. Foxhole is the only mmo that hooked me with 3.5k hrs.
Thanks so much for the support! Yes it is the Baker shard. Ah yes, I'm trying to get used to the range of weapons and the general overall feel, it's certainly different than most experiences out there. I actually decided to put my mic input on the lowest it could be just in case my commentary could be heard (didn't want to bother people). :D
@@ReformistTM don't hesitate to use your voice chat since it's push to talk anyway, they won't hear your commentary as long as you didn't pushed your "T" or "G" button (T for area voice chat and G for squad voice chat) and you'll find it way more fun to play when communicating with others as well, that way you could do some small OPs or do stuff as a group. hope you enjoy foxhole, been watching your Mount and blades video way back.. veterans in this game are willing to help out newer players.
if you were to even commentate in voice chat people would appriciate it, someone voice chatting, you can voice chat all you like no need to worry about clogging up coms
Join a squad of a foxhole creator as it will help a great deal. I love your vid and I know you're still learning how to play but I personally believe the real game of foxhole starts with communication but other than that I love your vids now because its what to expect for a beginner
I'm trying to like Foxhole, it's a great game, great concept and great gameplay, everything is good about this game, except the fps. I have a pretty beasty computer, but i still get constant stutters and fps drops.. Any veteran player know of any tips to reduce or remove the stutters/lag?? Please, i really want to play this.
Same here! I have a mid spec pc and it lags only when I'm on the map screen (When I have intelligence on, my framed go to a instant 20fps). I also play all on low graphic settings
while it's entartaining to watch you fumble around i highly recommend you to actually ask for how to do the basics, most players are willing to help you out teach you the basics. Currently there is soo much you seem to not fully know or are aware off it's hard to list all, and not knowing those actually hinder you from playing even as a basic infantry for example: -barbed wire slows you down, -supression means you can't shoot back effectively AND despite having the "in cover" stat when you are behind something it becomes possible for you to be hit. -man powered vehicles knock you down, motorized vehicles straight up kill you -your effective range is the white line you see when you aim, outside of it you deal 1 hp out of 100... -whenever you bleed there is a small blood drop icon on the top left of your screen, if you don't get to a medic or bandage yourself you will die. -people being carried cannot die from the "timer" they can only suicide by pressing e or be shot. so if you don't see a medic, keep holding the person for a short while maybe a medic will come afterall there are many tiny things that are just not picked up by your untrained eye or are hidden behind a obtuse game mechanics, so i really recommend you not trying to learn on your own because after the novelty of the game wears off it's going to be frustrating unless you actually know what you are doing.
I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I feel as though, in a game this hectic where there is so much going on, the constant commentary might be less useful. I normally think your commentary is great, in games like Bannerlord. But then we all know what to expect from Bannerlord, this game is new and I would sort of like to see you explaining how the logistics works, or letting us experience the carnage of combat without a smooth British voice calmly stating, "Oh that was a nice grenade, I'm dying." I still love it because let's be honest that's kind of funny, but a compromise could be giving us five to ten seconds in tense situations to hear what you hear, the communication in the game and whatnot. If you don't like my criticism I understand, because I am certain that many people will disagree with me, it's just a personal preference, I will continue watching either way.
I appreciate the honest feedback! Thank you. I definitely agree that I can talk way too much at times and for that, I apologize. Hopefully you enjoyed the video nonetheless! :)
@@ReformistTM Just to be clear, I still enjoyed the content. And I understand that you have a certain style which is fair. I just think it could also be interesting to place a bit more focus on the gameplay itself considering that most of us probably haven't played the game. When it's Bannerlord and you're playing Episode 99, the commentary is probably the most interesting thing about it because we know what to expect from Bannerlord, if that makes sense.
