The game is perfectly playable as a casual despite its complexity. You can always just deploy to a front, grab a rifle and go. Once you have done that multiple times you will slowly progress to a point where your impact, even as a solo, is being felt on the battlefield.

If I only have an hour to play, I either do combat/medic on the frontline, or I build watchtowers along logi routes so drivers are safe and QRF can hunt partisans. There're probably more impactful things that can be done in that time, but I can see the difference in watchtower coverage on the map before I log off and that is fulfilling to me as a QRF main!
@RobertLovesGames

I like the idea of building watchtowers! I need to find our weak areas with watchtowers and do more of this. I think that would be a great use of time. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

i'm a solo (only 80 hours played...) and i think you can make the difference when you play as a medic ( those shirts take time to build and delivery, if you resurrect a player you have effectively doubled the strenght of any frontline). Also grabbing all the loot off the ground during any operation and returning it to a nearby stockpile will make a huge difference, i've seen so many players just grab a new weapon and run to the front, only to respawn 1 minute later and grab another gun, then another... also, as you mentioned, when you want to log off either be sure to be dead OR return all the gear to a nearby base, then log off!!
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames Год назад
Definitely agree you can make a difference as a medic! I use to do a lot of battle looting. Basically when I told myself I'm going to go shoot some people on the front I would end up instead just battle looting all the whole time ha. Sounds like you play a lot like I did in my early hours of Foxhole. Thanks for sharing your input! Cheers!

How do you double the strength of the front line by healing one soldier? The soldiers not even 1% of the front line but if he was 1% and he dies, they're still 99%. Not half of the frontline.

I've found that if you are playing it casually is not to go to the big frontlines but to pick a less popular area and stick with it, the smaller engagement sizes mean that you get to see your contribution much more, and you start recognizing names and making connections
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames 9 месяцев назад
I like this! I normally tell new players to pick one side of the map east or west and only play in the same like 3-4 hexes for an entire war. This gives you bit more ownership over your territory and makes you want to fight for it more. Appreciate your input and thoughts on this! Thanks for sharing!

when it comes to partisan roles casually, its a ton of fun if you know a few tricks and have some extra time to put in. I remember this "large" (relative to being a solo) operation I did where over the course of a few days I utilized everything a faction had to its absolute limit and ended up literally in the furthest hex of the enemy lines, and ended up stealing a proto tank and wreaking havok for a few minutes while meager QRF forces failed to gas me out, it was genuinely some of the most fun i've had in any game ever, and i was laughing like a maniac the whole time.

I have found I can feel like I am making an impact if I play defensively. People are always trying to push on both sides, but not many people seem to want to sit in a trench with the sole job of keeping the enemy from taking that trench. I might die a few times, but I can usually take out a few enemies each time and it feels good knowing that I may have helped a few other people stay alive so they can make daring pushes.

@DreadPirateFury

The worst thing for me is that it was never hard to coordinate with random people before the one world update. There was a QM a lot of the time acting as a faux commander and logistics head, and the chain naturally trickled down from there. There were a lot less players to go around back then, but at any point the guy next to you was able and willing to help, and you just the same as them. We never got the tools in game to expand on this, you mentioned joining squads but it's just a moot point. 90% of public squads on a frontline are dead silent ghost operations that came and went. I just have to kind of disagree, I have 435 hours in the game across many years, I have a serious love hate relationship with it. The only enjoyment I ever had post one-world was in regiments, it was the only way to do combat or logi in any satisfying capacity. I guess that's fine, there's nothing wrong with it inherently. It just doesn't have to be this way, and if solo players were just given the tools to be a loose band of people in a faction working towards common goals, things would be undoubtedly better. Logi lists for example STILL don't have to be map posts, they could be their own requisitions interface. A communications building for joining active or scheduled operations would likewise help so much for the casual player to do something they feel is meaningful on the spot, no fuss required in looking around for a competent person with a good temperament. There comes a point where the player driven nature of the game is so entrenched that it works to its detriment, there are people that want to learn, lead, and make things happen together that have to punch through a mountain of work in the social department to even get started. I shouldn't have to use Discord in order to be an effective member in a factions efforts. I shouldn't have to run around a region hoping to find someone who wants help with something specific. I don't want to grab a rifle and die in a meat-grinder over and over again, feeling guilt of the bleed I put on shirts, I don't want to feel like a drop of water in an endless sea trying to supply those shirts to a front-line, and feel so inefficient doing it that I give up and feel useless. I should be able to load in, check a map, check a list of active groups in the area, see what they're trying to achieve, and what they need to do it. All without a word spoken otherwise. Random solo players were given a meek set of tools to do this at best, we have text chat channels (Filled with irrelevant shit mostly), map posts, and public squads with no description as to their goals, status, and player roles. It gets harder to come back every time I get into the vicious cycle, I love the game, but I need to learn things over and over again. I feel like a day 0 player with each major content drop. I've been Ocdt for five years now, cause I just can't get into swing with people, it's not as easy as it was when I bought the game, it never will be again. Every update alienates, albeit indirectly, anyone who wants to hop in and help out a complete stranger due to each added layer of complexity. Facilities? Get bent, it's clan territory, you want to help out, join a clan. Artillery? Who wants you as a spotter if you wont join their discord server? Even the simple act of running shirts these days from scrap to delivery is a series of moving parts you REALLY don't want to do all by yourself. Your mileage may vary, but for me personally, it's either join a regiment or be really, really bored and ineffective.
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames 10 месяцев назад
I agree that public squads most of the time right now are just random silent groups with not a lot going on. You really need to join clans/regi to get a more interactive group experience. It would be nice though if pick up groups were a lot more involved. They happen just not as frequent as they should. I would love for logi list to get some quality of life update! That has always been logi dreams of mine. Communication overall on the map could use a huge update. I think you can still be helpful to the war efforts without having to join discords. It really all just depends on what you think being "helpful" looks like. I think to many new players get caught up in thinking that they are can't make major plays in this game and they are a small part in the overall machine. Which I think is true and all players should learn. What you are providing for the war effort is moving the team forward in inches not feet or miles. Even big groups with big operations aren't moving the meter that much but they are moving things forward. I want a map update like you do. Maybe the devs are to worried about giving to much information away for alts? Which is sad. If it weren't for alts we would probably have a lot more cool features in this game. I appreciate your feedback and input! I think new players should read this to get a good idea on how their experience could be. Thank you! Cheers!

When I was a new player I found joy in the small things. Scrooping, being infantry, randomly being asked to be a gunner on a tank or armored car, delivering ammo for artillery etc. When I finally joined a regiment it somehow felt less rewarding. All they told me to do was "go scroop" and that got repedetive for me real quick. Nowdays I run around and do what I feel like, sometimes im on the front joinig in an attack with granades, sometimes im scrooping and crafting supplies that I drive to the front. If im really bored waiting for supplies to be crafted i refill random trucks with gas, or give some random guy a ride in my truck 😂 or craft trucks for other casuals to use. I try to help out where I can. Even the tiniest things. My experience is that the front have a lot more social interactions and you can hear the funniest things over there, but there is always one of those salty guys so beware
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames 17 дней назад
I can agree with this that things feel a lot more rewarding when playing solo. You can look at big operations and big stockpiles and feel little insignificant. I think running around and doing what you feel like sounds great! Great way to play the game. Honestly I'm normally always in a regiment and still do my own thing. Being a regiment just gives me extra "quest" if I want to do some other task. 27th has been really good for Warden side and WLL was good for Colonial side if you ever think about joining a clan again. Thanks for sharing your experience!

for casual solo players who dont feel like doing frontline grunt jobs an important job is anti-partisan. if you have a radio and theres plenty of watchtower coverage you can just roam the logi roads and flanks leading to the front and hunt down partisans. you have all the advantage since with the radio you know when and where enemy partisans appear so you are always the hunter getting the first shot. for casual logi players an important job is transporting backline stockpiles closer to the front or midline. you dont even need to make them yourself, there's plenty of equipment crates in the public stockpiles that need distributing if you want to be a casual scrooper you can go to midline refineries and just pump bmats and explosive materials and transport them to the depots and seaports with factories closer to the front. the midline refineries and factories are usually one hex apart so its pretty useful for your team to have a stockpile of Bmats and Emats in the midline factory stockpiles or transporting fueltanks of diesel and petrol to the front for friendly armor to fuel up on for solo builders, DONT
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames Год назад
Good point! I didn't really touch on doing anti-partisan but that's a really fun role to play. Transferring goods is what I did a lot in my solo logi videos. And just like you said you don't even have to make them yourself. Just moving them is relaxing. Yea stay away from building bases or facilities if you are doing solo ha. Thanks for sharing your input on this! Cheers!

It does boil down to lots of infantry combat or logi work if one plays solo and casual. Some sort of LFG system would be handy, maybe even as alternative way to move from home island to a hex where there is combat needing infantry/crews/logi etc. In same way an updated tutorial would really help everyone. Maybe even throw in separate small scale battles on a separate island for lower ranks only, where different aspects of the game are sped up, so new players can understand the mechanics and learn how the game functions and have to deal with time sinks only when playing the actual game.

I've been able to make 2 trains and a few train flatbeds. Gonna start shipping rockets pallets to the front now. If anyone solo is having trouble with facilities, the biggest thing I can say is have at least 2 liquid transfer station hooked up to a single generator. That gives you 40hours of facilities passively doing work for you.

(got pissed at not remembering to assign a new spawn point and not having transport from the main base and just kept going making more vehicles once i figured out how to do it) due to time zones i was able to get mats when most were asleep and build a fleet of vehicles before most came online. it was fun seeing people be confused why the main base was full of dozens of free vehicles. i dont know if it made a difference, but it was fun for sure. from what ive seen that not really possible anymore?

I’ve also found that being a jack of all trades is fun for me. I would take a rifle and ammo. But also take a medic kit and 2 bandages. Then in the front lines, I would only heal the medics. I would also get either a grenade/mammon or a shovel, depending on what’s more needed at the front. Or you could build a truck and bring bmats from refineries to factories, or to the frontline bunkers. Plenty of stuff to do! Once you get the ropes down, it’s easier to become part of a group to do more complex tasks like arty or mobile armor.

I have more or less 800 hours in the game by now and play at least half of that as a solo player. I enjoy playing solo, because you have no pressure of what to do. With regiments upkeeping bunkers or facilities comes first before what you really want to do sometimes. This can start feeling as a grind, because wars can take weeks. As a solo player I don't really think about the bigger picture most of the time, because otherwise it would be really depressing indeed. Instead, I set personal goals such as delivering a full freighter of Bmats this week and then taking a break. Or even smaller goals of doing at least five logi runs this hour. If I achieve those small goals then I'll be happy. Resource mining and crafting inherently tickles my inner engineer and gamer, so that's a big plus. However, a good fight is also fun. Albeit, that a good fight with a regiment can be epic. The only real downside of playing solo in the current Foxhole is that you'll rarely get any combat vehicles or combat vehicle variants, because the big regiments get to the components first and also run the facilities. All of the communication to get your hands on a combat vehicle can take a lot of time and is not worth it for me.

I really like this write up as a solo player. This is mainly how I feel as well and I've played solo and for a clan. I love just creating objectives for myself when I log on and play. The longer the war goes on the easier it gets sometimes. Thanks for sharing your experience on this! Really appreciate it!

See so many veterans with 800-900 hour’s saying the game isnt fun anymore who just need to take a break from the game for a few month’s to a year and come back to it with fresher eye’s. Playing any game for that many hour’s will burn you out of it fast.

Agreed! Sometimes I take breaks during certain times of the same war. Like I will take 2-3 days and just play TFT or read some books or something. Some of these vets are just way into the meta of everything as well I would say. I have been telling people lately just roleplay/larp this game a bit more and you will have a lot more fun. I have ~1.5k hours. Had my most fun sessions playing with 1 of my friend. That's all. But solo? Hardly. My advice: Find someone to play with you: A colleague, a partner, a friend, anything. Logi harvesting will only become a background to wonderful discussion or debates. Tanks become available, one of you holds the trench while the other one charges, etc... Play with 2-3 friends at most. Otherwise, try clans, but be warned: Clans can be hell. I have been in 3 clans, 2 of them dissolved and the 3rd became toxic Clanmen can be very passionate which can turn to getting yelled at because you didn't *play* (and I want to insist that it is still a game you are playing) well enough It also creates bonds between people who are playing at similar hours and who share long sessions If you go into a clan, it WILL be messy, there WILL be drama and your ideas are NOT guaranteed to be listened to, even if they are good. Big clans can be very bureaucratic and slow to act. But clans will bring you incredible fire- and manpower. They may become a new family and you can make excellent friends. They can hold a front better than groups twice their size of casual players On this note, I'll probably try to rebuild my clan

Well one of statements i heard in video is about difficulty to feel like you are any useful. Well, its hilarious but in my case i think i feel myself way useful for others and more often than i had for ex. when was playing BF3 and had doing crazy scores like 80-2 as a jet pilot. XD I just so often see things that nobody does for whatever reason but which is very helpful. Especially at logi side. See the storage/port with empty fuel tanks around? Or fuel-less mines. Find fladbed, fill it, bring it back - takes 15-30 mins, but comrades will be glad to someone filally done it! See resource field without harvester? Look around, maybe you can bring any from public stockpiles! And so on, even not speaking about more obvious things like just craft anything for a front and/or bring it from storage. On a frontline - you may try to flank while most of guys keep direct push. Or try catching enemy flanking guys, covering mate's back. You may try to snipe that annoying machinegun-man. You can get a radio and try to hunt partisan you noticed - and find out that was enemy spotter, or that you just saved full logi truck passed by which will be def dead if you dont intervene. Or just build WT as much as u can. Or simply be a medic - most lazy way to be veryvery useful. Not so solo, but once we with bunch of friends decided to try gunboat gameplay. We found some dudes that was trying to pass the river with enemy fortifications on other side. It was night, we started shelling and lighting enemy trenches, and it was insanely rewarding to observe how with our shelling help previously struggling dudes started to moving forward, trench by trench. It continued not too long as we failed to defend ourselves from QRF enemy gunboat, but still, was VERY exciting :D

You'd be surprised how much fun roleplaying is in this game. Because its so vast, having even a squad of players dicking around isn't going to change the war, or even a front. so i just hopped back in for the new ar yesterday, and for context i think the last time i played was before 1.0. so i did my usual thing of logi and eventually front line medic, and i had one of my buds with me. and honestly, i haven't had so much fun in a long time. just sitting there chit chatting doing supply drops, running into some older clan members (part of SOM) and the just funny talks and chaos with my fellow medics made it a blast. and that was all in the span of maybe 4 hours? 2 earlier in the day and 2 later on? so yeah if you just pick up and chat in game you can have a blast, even if its just you and maybe one other guy. for example even me and one of our front line medics weren't even talking (language barrier) and we were still having fun, either through emotes or just spam crouching. Now keep in mind this is as of today, the 2nd day of a new war so everyone is gonna be hype, so later on it may be a bit harder, who knows. but ik im gonna try to at least hop on after my studys (vet tech pain) and at least try to help my old regi and see if i recognize some old faces. edit: also of note, even if you are on the front line, even if you are somewhat solo you can still feel the impact if you are holding ground or advancing. Because YOU were a part of that progress or holding that line, even if it falls YOU helped keep it up even to the smallest degree, even if you died and got maybe two shots off; those shots stop them for another second. at least thats how i try to view troop worth/moral in this game.

short answer: yes I play solo - 1200 hours of it. Just ask people on your team or feel free to join someone. It's all about community. if you're looking for "impact" - taking the initiative, encouraging infantry, running those vital bmats or shirts when it's needed most is what really makes or breaks regions. I know personally I've been able to turn around a fight just by giving clearer commands/instructions.

the resource scarcity mixed with the massive population boom and slow bleed kind of kills it for me, as a solo logistics player. early war feels more like you're competing with your own faction -- especially with the addition of facilities. people will literally teamkill each other over who gets to babysit an oil field every day for the next 3 weeks. as the war progresses, player numbers bleed out and it starts to feel like more of the game is accessible. comp fields are no longer sitting at 100 comps and below 24/7 so you can actually build a tank if you want to. basically, you arent being cockblocked by big regiments constantly because half of them got bored and are waiting for the next war already. i understand removing scarcity would mean the faction capable of putting more man hours will win 100% of the time, as opposed to the more coordinated and more skillful faction carefully planning on how to best effectively use and distribute resources. but im tired of being relegated to the scrap fields because doing anything else is nesr impossible for the first 2 weeks of the war. at least from the solo logi perspective. additionally, i find that an excess of "casual dont bother me" infantry players just means nothing gets done on a front. too many times i'll see that something needs to be done in an area, decide to drive trucks because "i'm better off spending 10 mins to bring bmats from the other hex to start fortifying this base instead of standing around holding a rifle", only to bring bmats to a base, realize they need something else, and then end up being the sole logi driver in a hex for 6 hours. and the second i ask someone to do something or to help me actually build i get told "do it yourself". i can be in a tank surrounded by 30 infantry, and see a huge group of enemies encroaching via radio, call out location and direction etc. but then not a single friendly infantry will move to cover the flank. everyone wants to play foxhole but nobody wants to be a team player. even sitting in the driver seat of a Widow or a Silverhand, infantry will have the gall to tell me "build it yourself" when we need a watchtower up. i dont claim to be some tactical genius but it's rough playing this game when everone has the snarky "i'm gonna tell you to do it yourself and not help you, even if you're doing it yourself" mentality. the most fun i've had in this game has been playing with Sargeants and below. usually not even Sargeants because they get cocky because they think they know what's best with their 40 hrs played. Corporals are more willing to learn and cooperate than most them i get a lot of enjoyment out of driving big trucks around and listening to country music because it helps me get in touch with my inner American. but if i want to deviate away from that simple "log in and do public logi" gameplay loop and try tanking with friends, i feel like i need to dedicate planning a whole day ahead just to have a tank ready on-demand, and to have the supplies ready so that my friends can just log in and play the way they want to right away, i feel bad if one of my roommates only has an hour to pkay, but 10 minutes of that is him driving trucks with me because there's no ammo/diesel/bmats where we're going. its aspects of gameplay like this that makes me realize why i have 10x the hours on this game compared to even the guys who showed me the game in the first place. i dont want them to log in and feel like they're helping me do chores. we want to go larp as soldiers charging into battle, until the wakening realization that sometimes you need to stand around and do nothing, or that you need to do the boring shit because it's what *needs* to be done. because as much as we want to have fun, we also want to do what we deem is the most important task on the battlefield too.

tbh the way to have fun in foxhole as a solo player is paradoxically to just "experience the moment". the game is one giant dynamic system, with several smaller sub systems (logi, facilities, regiments, etc.) playing into each other. like you said, a single player can almost never make a lasting impact, so ultimately the fun in foxhole is in experiencing the activity of fighting in a larger war. and i think this question is really only a problem because the scope of foxhole is so massive. playing planetside 2, you'd almost never hear people ask "can i play this solo?" because people are content to just log in and blast a few people on the front. but foxhole's presentation is a bit more cerebral, like an RTS sort of, so the action is less immediate.

I won't say you cannot be a hero as a solo player. Yesterday i bought this game and after 1 hour in training camp and 15 minutes of shooting rifle from the trench I've managed to enter and clear enemy trench by wiping out 21 players out of it and then killing their counter atack (5 men). And right after that I destroyed a tank from this trench, but then got supressed by machinegun and was really surprised to see 6 grenades throwed at me. And 20 minutes later enemy throwed us back to spawn point by constant artillery bombardment and 4 tanks

if you only play an hour or a few a day. solo logi is worth it. you can build up a few resources guns ammo basic tanks and such. put it in a personal stock pile. next day log on grab what you feel like playing with ask around for a crew and go nutz for an hour or 2. oh and another thing i do from time to time is grab some bino's and just watch what is going on on the battlefield. if you are going to spend your one hour you might be better off just watching other people then running in like a mad (wo)man. i have never played foxhole for only one life per play. i think ill try it out sounds fun :)

Exactly! It's still pretty easy to play solo. The farther the war goes along you can find all these things for free a lot easier as well in backline seaports. About regiments - im curious how often them requies involvement from members and how much, in ENG segment. In our RU segment, it is hell often that head of any clan (not only in Foxhole) requies inadequate level of "discipline" or mandatory things, often naturally demanding from members to bring the game to f-#%ing second job. Idk, is it Soviet heritage or something? xd Because of that, and because of im still sadly rather suck into live ENG communication to try non-RU ones i mostly prefer to play with friends or randoms, or solo, in any social games, onto which im kind of addicted to(ironically).

Semi-experienced Foxhole player here, short answer is yes and no. For me though, "yes" is because you can casually play either as logistical unit in the backlines (either maintaining facilities, delivering supplies to the frontline, etc) which I consider to be casual gameplay. For "no", you can go to frontlines, play as infantries, armor unit, arty unit, or even backline partisan, which mostly will gives you that intense semi-nerve-wrecking experience of being under pressure, having to constantly communicate with teammates, being aware of your surroundings while being in an armor unit, etc. Both options are ideally implemented if you are playing with a regiment, or a clan in other word. Which is why Foxhole sometimes feels dull if you're not playing with a group of friends or a group of people, as other comment here already mentioned earlier.

I think Foxhole would benefit from some sort of overall commander role. Maybe for each hex? but then again, I think clans would rig it in their favour. Like Squad where someone becomes the commander and all the squads listen usually. Would bring more coherence. Which is what a military is. Right now, it's an anarchist army and isolated operations. Foxhole has a severe lack of communication tools inside the game. Discord is mandatory. In Squad, you can mark enemies on the map, draw waypoints of attack, set attack markers. The squad system in Foxhole is very basic when compared.

as a solo player, I found the amount of buildings ai defenses Bridges, and server ques excruciating sometimes I'm fortunate enough to kill my way to the enemy base only to not be able to really do anything to the AI because mortars don't do enough damage (you run out too fast and they repair them) mamons are pretty much suicide and you need 3 for a foxhole you cant use enemy field guns if you capture them for some reason can't even pull their ammo out which is bs but not as bs as what it takes to break them which is high explosives when I could probably disable one by fisting dirt into the barrel for much of the start of the war it feels like your fighting with 1 hand behind your back until late game where only the refined hogging 50 server queuing grinders pour into the 4 playable regions where there isn't a bridge sometimes I've had situations where every frontline is qued but mostly its every nonbridge battle is qued it sucks

@@RobertLovesGames imo 90% of this games problems revolve around of the server queue. why is the frontline dead-locked? because the faction's numerical advantage is canceled by the server queue. why are ai defenses so important? they give you extra rifles over the server queue. why are clans such a-holes probably because only so many people can be in a region before the server queue. why cant supplies get into a region? server queue. Why do I have to fight a pointless bridge battle if I want to play the game you guessed it server queue. and to break garrison houses early game requires a server-crashing amount of mamons just look up day 1 mamon insanity and this problem is compounded by things like dynamic wait times

- Solo player here, not even good at the game. Just know some basics. +1 times I run across another solo player who wants to shoot some artillery and the gun need at least 2 to operate. + I then stop a bit helping the guy to rotate the gun and loading the shell. Then a few other solo players also join the effort. + Just in 15 mins. we turn the tide of the battlefield, start raining fire on enemy bases and cut off their supply. + Frontline soldiers catch the opportunity to push with a few tanks we have and win us a region. . - Moment like this is not rare in-game, they happen all the time. You may not be a superhero that murder everything but your effort pay off.

Exactly! I'm basically a casual player especially when I have my busy work weeks like right now. I've only played about 5 hours this last week and still had a blast doing so. Jesus, people overthink and overcomplicate this game. Just spawn and ask if anyone is willing to help you do what you want to do. Want to be a tank crewman? Ask if anyone needs a gunner or driver. Want to play infantry? Ask where the frontline is and if you can join a squad. Want to do logi? Ask where you should go and what you should do. It's really not that hard. Play as long as you want and then say "hey I gotta log off now, bye". That simple.

Completely agree. This is the kind of stuff that I try to tell new players all the time. Ask a ton of questions and use your mic and you can get involved in just about everything right away. Boy, oh boy. I love your content, but casually giving people the advice to abuse logi priority to get into a queued hex is extremely questionable in my opinion. That's how you get logi queues. That's how you get hexes dying to no supplies. And create a partisan heaven at the border. It's also how you burn out logi players, but I accept that the other option burns out frontline players, so that argument is less relevant. For anybody not in the know: Logi priority queue is limited. If you get a slot through it, you'll basically block a logi slot. So if you then end up just playing frontline, that means one of the people who supply you will be in queue instead.
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames Год назад
Thanks for the kind words and your input on logi priority. I think your position is valid but I guess I’ve never looked at it that way. Maybe because I’m a logi player mainly. If you are bringing important supplies to the front and want to do little frontline action for while I don’t think there is any harm in that. It’s important that if logi is blocked for hex that it’s communicated and hopefully some people will leave so important logi can get it. I wish the devs would make the “logi slot” and if you go in as logi you only have 15-20min before you are automatically kicked out. Or some solution along these lines. I’ll think about this some more. Again appreciate your input and kind words!
@Wish-and-Hope
@Wish-and-Hope Год назад
@@RobertLovesGames I think I surpassed the "Logi Main" at this point and became "Logi Only". But I'd never begrudge a fellow logi person to go and do some fighting with their priority slot after a few logi runs. However a single run feels a bit off (also because that's how we keep running out of trucks in midlines/frontlines, if they never make it back :/). I guess if we're talking about just an hour of play time, 15 of which being the logi run - maybe. But very situational. For me the main motivation to go lean against people doing that is the repeated crushing experience of having all the materials a frontline needs (potentially after hours of work) but ending up sitting at the border for half an hour or more, while they continue to slowly die, begging for supplies in logi chat - or worse: complaining about the lack of supply. It's one of the reasons why I barely do frontline logi anymore. Or immediately stop doing it, once I encounter a logi queue. It's not just the waiting. It's this feeling of helplessness that completely defeats the purpose of why I do logi. So yeah, to anyone using logi priority to skip a queue: Please be aware of the potential consequences and try to individually evaluate the situation whether it's ok to do right now or not. You may end up harming the fun of a lot of other people - potentially including yourself, when you run out of equipment at your BB.
@RobertLovesGames
@RobertLovesGames Год назад
@@Wish-and-Hope That makes. Since and as a "logi main" even with my 30 minutes to hour of frontline that I sometimes do after bringing a logi truck I think I add enough value to the other logi bros once I am done. I have spent times moving logi trucks back from frontlines many a time. Sometimes I go to the front and all I'm doing is cleaning up and finding out that we do actually need specific supplies and I continue doing logi if the resources are near for me to grab. I think it would be different if I did one logi run and then stayed and did frontline for like 3-4 hours. I would consider that more abuse of the logi que line. I think the situation you described with logi having to wait and no one leaving is a good reason that we need a logi specific role that goes into hexes and are kicked out after a certain amount of time so that slot opens up again. And I'm with you I don't do much of frontline logi anymore as well. I mainly do backline and midline logi to support those that still do frontline logi. I can tell you that I probably have about 15 hours of logi for every 1 hour of frontline I have ever done so I don't feel to bad to do frontline for the limited amount of time that I do. Again I understand where you are coming from with this. And see how it could be harmful. I just really wish for a logi specific role one day to enter hexes ha.

@@RobertLovesGames 100% with you on the solutions and your reasoning for how you do it. I definitely didn't intend to suggest you were abusing the function, I hope it didn't come over like that! I guess I just feel it's dangerous knowledge and would prefer people to simply not know about it. At the same time it's easy to say for me, salty vet who knows the tricks, to want to gatekeep them for others. It's probably just fair for everyone to know, make their own experiences with it and decide for themselves how and when to use it. Best way to learn anyways, instead of being told what to do.

The game does not respect your time and is an absolute blackhole for time. This means it, technically, CAN be played casually, it’s just that you can’t expect yourself or be expected by others to turn the tables. Goof around as infantry, make a single logi run. Fight in a tank a bit and pass it on when done. You won’t be able to see the end of most battles. Most of the time you would be adding some humble input and hoping the others will finish the job.
