The bowling ball not bouncing a second time, after the initial bounce, on the FPs is proof enough that the energy is being absorbed. That will translate to less energy being sent back up your legs and into the knees. Multiple bounces from the other insoles essentially turns your leg into shock/spring and that's not good. I'm going to give some of these a try...my right knee needs all the help it can get and my right foot's arch is prone to collapse (or I've got plantar fasciitis). They should help with overall foot fatigue, simply based on the physics, involved and they will definitely help if you ninja kick the ground or a hubba or something on a bail/attempt.

Something Iv'e always wondered about these tests, the FP insoles get considerably softer as they absorb the body heat from your foot while wearing them, mine are actually very firm, almost hard before I start wearing them, and super soft and squishy after they warm up, so Iv'e always wondered if these tests are done with stiff cold insoles, or soft and squishy warmed up ones, always wondered how much of a difference that would make

Scientifically speaking, you need a new cinderblock for each insole. The blocks integrity got worn down by the first two drops. 🤔💁🏽‍♂️
@klubstompers
@klubstompers 2 года назад
Each block is of different strength as well. Would be better to drop it on a sheet/plate of metal, like 1/4" aluminum, suspended on each end, because each sheet would have the same K-factor, and just measure how much it bends/flexes.

@klubstompers
@klubstompers 2 месяца назад
@@encyclopediabrown1334 As a brick and block mason, i know. You can go through a pallet, and literally see the difference from block to block, some have fat webs, some have thin faces, etc. They ship the blocks on pallets and fork lift the pallets off the truck to the storage location and then the store. They also stack multiple pallets on top of each other at the manufacturing plant, then at the storage yard, and then at the store. This all causes the blocks to weaken differently, depending whether they were stacked on the top of the pallet, the side or middle, and this also causes them to vibrate and get hair line cracks, all in different areas. Some blocks literally fall apart as you pick them up right off the pallet.

Awesome review! Thanks for taking the time for this! Now it's obvious it absorb impact. I wonder how it does for performance wise? If I'm not mistaken the more it absorbs to more it takes away from rebound and etc. Hence it will hinder bounce/coil/energy etc which will take away from sports performance like jumping and sprinting. Looks like it will absorb energy which will hinder sprinting & jumping. You won't jump as high and won't sprint as fast.... I'm curious if anyone can answer that or has reviews/test on that.

First off great video, now I have a great question. How many times could you drop the bowling ball on fp insoles repeatedly before the cinder block broke?
@klubstompers
@klubstompers 2 года назад
Well, since the cinder block got weak and cracked during the first 2 drops, id say 3, just like in the video. The more you hit the block, the weaker it gets. Each block and cell is different as far as strength, due to the manufacturing process, and them being shipped around on pallets. Being a mason, Ive had CMUs shatter just by picking them up at the center web. A better test would be to take a 1/4" thick piece of plate aluminum and suspend it on each end, and see how much it flexes when something is dropped on it, because that would get accurate, repeatable, results each time, and each sheet would have the same K-Factor.

I wouldn't recommend wearing them all the time because it just isn't necessary to. Wearing them all the time just increases the general wear and tear on the insole. Personally I have several pairs of shoes and a couple of them are dedicated to skating, so I only wear the insoles in those particular shoes to keep down the wear of the insoles. Why? Because the newer the insoles are, the more shock absorbent they will be and shock absorption is the whole reason I bought the things in the first place. The footprint insoles are great shock absorbers for when you're skateboarding, but they aren't the best insoles for general walking and running. If you have normal feet, the best insoles are honestly probably made out of leather, they shape to your foot, but they don't alter or constrain the way you walk. They're also easier to grip with your toes and they provide the perfect balance between cushion and natural foot motion. Not to mention, they last forever. On the other hand, if you have flat feet, I recommend getting copper insoles. They have great self adjusting arch support, the perfect amount of cushion, and they don't really stop your foot from moving naturally either. They will help your tendons support your weight as you move and they also last a very long time.

I don’t think he proclaimed the results of the tests to mean anything one way or another, the only potentially opinionated determination I heard was that less bounce= more impact absorption, basically. Which seems about right… I do suppose there may be some insole tech out there that not only absorbs said impact force, but also reflects/returns it. Now there’s an insome I’m waiting for… one that somehow utilizes the force of one’s own body weight into propelling oneself up/forward. Kind of like a trampoline. Moon shoes 🌙 👟

@tristanjacobrioskriner9604
@tristanjacobrioskriner9604 Год назад
If it’s reflecting/returning the energy back through the ball enough to make it bounce then the energy transfer that would cause injury is still happening. There’s no way to return the shock without having a negative response to the body from it. Kinda like a sling shot being pulled all the way back, even tho it shot the projectile far af the springiness in the rubber is gonna come back and smack you in the face. Same concept except now it’s going through your feet into your body

They posted a test recently on their Instagram where they parked a car on an insole for five minutes then tested it and it still worked perfectly, not sure how that would translate but I’ve used mine for like half a year and they still work well! Also if you do try some you can use my discount code “jpark10” for 10% off!

The insoles debacle... Are there shoes that already have them? Maybe you said and I wasn't listening well enough.

FP does make their own shoes now, I’m rocking the velocity’s (aaron “jaws” homoki’s pro shoe) but my next pair is def gonna be the intercepts (Neen Williams pro shoe)

I used to get gnarly heel bruised running out from transitions. When I had my first pair, I honestly NEVER got bruises ever again. Could legit run out with no repercussions. Great choice of insole

@tristanjacobrioskriner9604 Год назад
Same here, I used to fear messing up in transition bc of the run down and how hard my feet would slam while trying to decrease my momentum but with FP footwear (I’m rocking the velocity’s rn) I’m able to just jump down and don’t feel any different from a 7 foot drop and jumping down a step in terms of how the impact hurts my feet. Obvs there’s more pressure but the actual force/pain from the drop is literally 1/10th

@@JasonParkSucks I've always thought that higher trucks could create a snappier pop. Maybe another test idea..?
@paulvawter6187
@paulvawter6187 Год назад
No test needed, it’s basic physics. Your pop timing/height/amount of “snappiness”, has mostly to do with what I call your “pop-angle”. Or, the angle/amount of degrees the center/majority of your deck is at at the point your tail makes contact with the ground. A setup that’s at 45 degrees when the tail hits the ground, it’s nose is going to be higher in the air when you pop than a setup that has a pop-angle of 40/35/30 degrees. A higher nose means an over-all higher level for which to level the board out to, aka, bring the tail up after the pop. That, plus, the line of trajectory would be steeper and therefore likely be higher at its highest point. I say likely because although a steeper trajectory=higher “level-out” height, a shallower angle would equal more distance. And if you’re going down hill at all, especially with greater speed, and the further one goes laterally, technically the lower the ground gets… may end up being “higher” than a not as far but initially steeper trajectory. Many things effects your pop angle though. How tall your wheels are. Your trucks. The pitch of your tail. The length of your tail. Where/when it begins it’s curve/pitch. Your wheel base. Whether or not you have risers. I think that’s it… personally I find a not so steep pop-angle to be “snappier” as to me, to be “snappier” seems to be synonymous with a shorter pop-timing
@paulvawter6187
@paulvawter6187 Год назад
If you wanna try a steeper pop angle, simply Ollie with your board turned around. Your nose will always be both longer and also have a steeper pitch. Unless it’s a twin tail. Or some other kind of… abomination.

The bowling ball test is a gimmick and doesn't mean shit. Sti insoles you find in maranas and new accel slims are way better last more and cost a lot less. Fun fact, after 10 minutes of skating FPs heat up and get extremely soft and squishy, nothing to to with how they compress when cold. Crep is laughably overpriced, except the laces, they're probably the same ones Flores sells at twice the price :D

Well I've been looking for a video about the creep and he didn't do that one and creep mates a sport a comfort. It also has the one made from jail. It's got three different $15 ones and one $25 one. I have spent $75 on shoot pads because I stand on my feet for 10 hours at work. Dr. Shows are no good. The copper fit has been the best ones but I was going to try the creep and there's no videos. Nobody has tested them. The only videos are the videos from the company dropping watermelons or bowling balls they like to make these shoe pads with these high arches and they're uncomfortable. A shoe pad should be one link and the zoom pad. I have the Jordan one zooms. Very comfortable but the insole does not have air. It is a very thick insole even out. Best insoles ever

Comfortable af for sure but if you try out FP you’ll notice a significant difference. Vans sort of muffles the force but landing primo still hurts like a bitch and a ten stair is still gonna be brutal regardless. With FP the board feel and land isn’t muzzled so much as it’s genuinely absorbed and evenly redistributed so you don’t actually feel a pinpoint landing and end up w bruised feet 😊
