This speech changed how I participate in the mass! I have never been able to participate in the mass the same after I watched this 3 years ago. I learned that I was just a Catholic going through the motions. I will always come back to this video as a refresher and to share with others. Blessed be Jesus through his most holy sacrament of the altar!
I cried about the12 year old girl who kept coming back to eat the host from the ground and beaten to death. It pierced my heart. I cried with fr Mike 😥. My new learning from fr Mike today, "we should not just watch but to worship". 🙏🙏
Do yourself a favor and look into the actual formations of all religions, Jesus is nothing special just a story men tell to acquire power over others. Wake up, you are not a mindless sheep, we live in a time that more information is available to us than any king in history. Jesus was "if he existed at all" was an ignorant goat hearder. Durin the Holy Mass today , I came across some doubts of the truth of theEucharist. It comes to my mind often about the truthfulness of celebrating H.Mass and the live presence : I asked in the prayer for an answer and the same day evening RU-vid pops up with this video. Not a coincidence. Watched it in joy and tears the best ever . In the list !
Bishop Barron, Fulton Sheen, Dr. Peter Kreeft, and many others throughout the 20th Century give amazing witness to the beauty and potential in the Mass. Seek and you shall find. God's waiting and hiding, with open arms.
One of the things that I hadn't realized until now is that I love Fr. Mike's talks because he envelopes the crowd with his words and then catches them by surprise by making them part of it by making them answer his questions and such. Thank you, Father (Mike and Heavenly) for teaching us and thereby coming closer to Heaven!
This was such a moving and amazing blessing to watch! I have been on the Bible In a Year journey with Father Mike and this really hit me. The message felt like God was talking to me, explaining so I understand and all my questions answered.

Father Mike, I want to thank you for your talks and lectures. I am a born and raised Catholic, yet I walked away from the church (Not God, or Jesus or the holy spirit) a long time ago. Your lessons have inspired me to re examin the CAtholic Church and come home. It is funny that I did not come looking for these lessons or mayb i did through prayer and asking for a deeper relationship with God. But your sermons just all of a sudden popped up on my computer the other day and I have been listening to you ever since. Thank you Fr. Your lecture about the Eucharist reminds me of a newer interpretation given to the story of Abraham being commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac. Most people, when reading the story, are filled with horror, and disappointment in God for asking Abraham to kill his son. A command like that would be overwhelming to anyone with or even without a child of their own. After reading this story most people feel drained and just want to put the book down and contemplate how God could do such a cruel thing to Abram. The newer interpretation of this, in addition to testing Abraham, or maybe replacing the one that God was testing Abraham, is that God wanted the reader to feel the pain , shock, and horror of what it was like for Him to give His own Son up to be killed. The story certainly does drive that one home.

Fr Mike I'm practically bed ridden and have never listened to you before, I can't get to Mass so my parish priest has allowed me to have my own blessed Sacrament in my room, it's the greatest gift he could have given me to have Jesus present with me 24hr a day and to receive Him daily, I gladly suffer for Jesus. I am very thankful that I have been on UTUBE watching and renewing my faith each day. BUT THIS SERMAN ! Pray, get to your Mass, take part in all your sacraments, and pray some more that this upheaval in our world does not snuffed out our religion. I have watched this video countless times and Father Mike's words cause me to weep and truly understand the meaning of THE WORD. We need many more holy priests like Father Mike as we languish sometimes in despair when all we need is to Trust in Him. Thank you Father Mike for the inspiration you stimulate with the utter conviction of your faith and the unprecedented talent you own in propagating that belief and message. I can understand why you received several "call backs" in your days of auditioning - you would have made a great actor but that other "Director" had alternative plans for you which you .carried out to perfection. Mike & will continue to do so , but i would only kindly ask please dear Ft.when at the altar no hands in the pocket and altar is no performance stage so must be treated with utmost respect and humbleness. What it comes down to: if you do not OR cannot believe in transubstantiation then you cannot actually be a Catholic. I would say this: there are plenty of really decent human beings who do not believe that the host is Christ in the flesh. Second question: aren't there times when the Eucharist is made available in church outside of the Mass?

Having heard Father Mikes talks, I would consider him to be a great evangelist of the 21st century. Both spoke from the heart, and gave me a special insight into the various building blocks of our faith.

I have now watched this 5 or 6 times and have sent to family and friends. I am a convert but have hung out with Catholics most of my life. I didn’t learn from them, I learned from my son who is also a convert, his family (by homeschooling religion), a priest that took a chance on me (father Peffley) and now from father Mike. The passion he has is unparalleled. God bless you father Mike. I will be starting the Bible in a year today and next year, what the heck, catechism in a year. Happy new year
“If I don’t want the Eucharist, I don’t want Jesus.” 🥺😭 THAT was my “break my heart for what breaks Yours” moment and I’m... Still a mess over it. What a blessing and grace it has been to get to “meet” Father Mike Schmitz through the first video I ever saw in that Religion class during my sophomore year of HS just before the Sacrament of Reconciliation was offered for the school community. All of the videos that I have seen over the years have been a gift and helped me to learn and understand more about Communion and Confession. As a Protestant, I am grateful to God for speaking so powerfully and clearly through Father Mike. My heart is open to whatever His will is with revealing the truth about who He is and what the church was meant to be as He intended. Prayers are greatly appreciated as I have been feeling convicted with a recent desire to go to Confession as well as more of a powerful draw and yearning for the Eucharist, as I have experienced throughout the past 7-8 years on and off.
