Hi, just wanted to say that this is super helpful and there is really a lack of videos that do this kind of walkthrough. Those of use who have not had extensive experience setting up real amps in a live setting are going to struggle to get a modeler dialed in…. Really enjoy seeing your thought process. Have you tried using the fractal preset leveling tool instead of your UA meter? Also wanted to say I would be interested in seeing how you adjust the same patch for a HB guitar via Tele…

Hey thanks so much for watching! No I guess I never thought of using the fractal preset leveling tool, I didn’t even know that existed! I’ll look into it, I would like to do humbuckers also at some point.

Are you running your output 1 xlrs to the back of your Apollo and using line or mic setting? I’ve tried both and it just doesn’t sound right to me very tinny vs using the usb into my Mac. Yours sounds great so that’s why I was wondering. Thank you for the video!

Yes I am running the xlrs from the fm9 directly into the Apollo at mic level I believe. I turn the preamp of the Apollo all the way down and increase the output on the fm9 to hit the Apollos meter at around -9. Maybe make sure there are no plugins being applied on the Apollo.

Very nice, are you finding you prefer the FM9 to your pedalboard into the UA Ruby/Dream? You're in a very helpful position to many where you own both complete rigs and offer input as to which is more flexible, which sounds/feels most authentic, takes other pedals better, etc. Curious to know your thoughts!

Hey thanks for watching! Gosh this a hard question, I like both equally and I say that completely honestly. I bought the fm9 to use as a backup board but I have not stopped using it since, just because it’s quicker to get going for new songs and me not having to program midi on my other board for new songs. Tones are totally equal same with realism and feel. The fractal has the edge due to you being able to blend in reverb and delay to your dry signal as essentially running wet dry wet which I will get into in either part 2 or part 3 of this series. You could do that on a normal board but it would take some additional pedals to blend signals. I like them both, it’s fun playing the real board because I love the look and aesthetic of real pedals but also love the simplicity and easy setup of the fm9.

@@lightfootfx Dang, that's a good answer and excellent insight! Thank you, curious to see the rest of your patch building series. Who knows, maybe I'll get on the FM9 waitlist.
