@@lightfootfx if only we could say the same thing about Christianity and the fact that it's being gaslit into becoming a hate group by the GOP. Hopefully your church is fighting against this, if so I apologize. I just can't believe what the modern church is cosigning these days. It's obscene.
Awesome video, this helped me decide to get a Ruby. If my honeymoon phase with it lasts (I love it so far) I might end up getting a Dream as well. I already have a Deluxe Reverb, but would be nice not to have to lug it to gigs… too much risk of damage or theft.
I wish someone would do a video of how the midi functionality works with saving presets. i have tinkered with mine and it loses the presets when i power down the unit. does anyone use the midi capabilities of this pedal?
Great play and great tone! What made you throw out Dream, Ruby and get tonex?? Ruby + Lion Sounds rlly nice, but I have a strong urge to go with tonex or tonex one because of the headroom and versatility.
The ruby and dream are a great combo don’t get me wrong, but the Tonex feels just as good to me only I can use amps that I prefer. I like the old Korg era vox ac30s from the 90s and so now I can run one and any other amp that I want as long as the capture is good. I wasn’t a big fan of the vintage ac30 sound in the ruby even though it’s an identical recreation it’s just a sound that I don’t prefer.
Sounds great. I usually just use it clean and push a drive into it but im thinking it would be great to have a chimey clean playing soft and some nice growl when playing harder. It is achievable just with guitar and acs1 correct?
Ima tube amp guy forever n buying a Tonex soon. I use the stereo output of my ditto looper to power amp in on a slave amp. Outdoors live its HEAVEN ON EARTH. N makes for a MUCH livelier time with the band. 😎
Bro use the King of Tone. Just do it. Give in to the devil just this once ❤ All kidding aside, it's amazing and you deserve to have it on permanently. It's basically a better Klon. Just do it 😀
Sounds great. The stock IRs that are included with the acs1 are actually from tonefactor already. The tonefactor ones give you more options, but the 2.0 stock IRs are pretty good.
That’s about the same process I use to dial in my amp sim. Good job. Also I sold my Dream Ruby to go back to ACS1. I did order the new mini Tonex to try. Maybe you could recommend some captures for me? Thanks for sharing. Oh and a comparison to the Tonex would have been cool but honestly I am to the point that the little bit “better” we strive for, gets buried in a live mix.
Hey thanks for watching and sharing! I like the tone factor captures, amalgam is another one I like, the tone factor stuff is a bit dark, the amalgam stuff is a bit brighter so I think it would depend on your preference. Both offer a free one I believe.
Hey man, love your vids. Just watched your FM9 review and wondering how you compare Tonex + pedals to the FM9. Does one clearly beat the other in terms on sound/feel? or is it really just personal taste? Thanks man!
Hey man thanks for watching! I prefer the Tonex compared to the fractal I feel like the amps feel better and more realistic to me, the effects on the fractal though are just as good as the real pedals if not better when it comes to reverbs and delays. I may have just not found the right amp settings yet on the fractal but to me they all feel kinda stiff where the Tonex captures have more air and sag I feel like. Hope that helps! Both are the best in there field, fractal is hands down the best all in one modeling solution and the Tonex is the best capture device and solution for pedalboards in my opinion.
Currently I like the Tonex a tad more, not by much as both are very good but I give the edge to Tonex. I have a friend though who prefers the Ruby and dream over Tonex so it could just be my preference.
for those watching please keep in mind that you are: 1. listening to this through youtube which is processing it it's own way. 2 you're getting the direct out sound only when the guitar is playing. you hear the drastic difference when their mics come back on. All of that being said, there will be slight differences IRL if you were to play all of these at the same settings with the same guitar. I do think this was the best way to do this video though and it's extremely helpful :) PS: Most comparison videos I see drive me INSANE because what they are playing changes dramatically between models they are comparing. it will be full strum open chords and then all of the sudden some blistering solo above the 12th fret with new effects added. Super annyoing. With this video I really appreciate that basically the same thing was played for every comparison. Well done. For what it's worth i have a tonex being shipped to me as we speak but after watching this video i personally liked the Ruby the most. might return the tonex now if i cant get it to sound the way I want
It’s has some advantages such as being able to hold more presets and having onboard presence and with controls for easier on the fly adjustment. I think I’m personally going to switch to the new mini ones
