Fragile X: Ground Zero (2022) 

In 2013, researchers at the internationally respected UC Davis MIND Institute formed a collaboration with scientists at the Universidad del Valle in Cali to investigate the high incidence of fragile X in the town of Ricaurte in the Valle del Cauca District in Colombia, South America. The collaboration aims to advance fragile X research, benefit individuals around the world by increasing the understanding of fragile X and associated conditions, and by improving efforts to provide effective and meaningful interventions. An initial site visit in 2013 and multiple follow-up visits by staff from both the Universidad del Valle in Cali and the MIND Institute have proven very beneficial. A film, Fragile X: Ground Zero, documented some of those visits and the efforts to improve the well-being of the citizens of Ricaurte.
