There are many good noiseless out there. What impresses me the most about these split blades is the attack on these sound/feel so much better than other noiseless. I need to get me at least one blues or vintage to try myself.
@michaelgrahamwongacutemadness
so it’s actually more like a single coil tonally you mean but still like a humbucker regarding less noise

Thank you for showing the middle pickup. I love playing that position, and too few demos skip right over it.

thats the best i've ever heard a squire sound. these pups sound so good i cant believe they're "noiseless". the only problem i'm having is that i like the 1st and 3rd sets the best in this video...i believe the "vintage" and the "super high output"? i'm thinking i should do something like you did on the squire...btw i have fralin p90s in a fano rb6 and couldnet be happier with them. hot but clear; round with bite. perfect p90 tone.

Do all the split rails have less of the Fender "sparkle"? I love the idea of noiseless, but so far all the noiseless single coils I've tried just don't have the chimey high end sparkle that Fenders are famous for...
@michaelgrahamwongacutemadness
I don’t know of another pickup company that has four output level options to choose from though i also saw on the site that you can choose if wound for the neck or bridge so idk if that’s about output as well or tone too

Will these fit in a G&L Legacy? I think the pickup cutouts on a G&L pickguard is bigger than that of a normal Fender strat.

HI Lindy, I looking to order a set of split blade for my Knaggs Severn which comes originally with SD. Do you recommend going blues in both neck and middle, and a super high output in bridge? also what volume pot and tone pots do you recommend if you want a slightly brighter tone? Thanks!

They seem a very nice pickups, probably the best choice for many DIFFERENT strat players. There are not only guitarists who appreciate strat for the classic vintage sound... Many outputs and tones choices, yes. But so few videos and demos for all of these! How can we buy some of the most expensive pickups on the market based on this video alone?

I also heard what seemed to be a little Dickey noodling at the beginning 0:50 to 1:50. Or maybe that just creeps into every good blues player's playing in the southern States. ; )

Are the pickups wired in series or parallel? If in series is it possible to switch them to parallel wiring for more sounds?

Most Fenders are wired in parallel, as are these. You can ask for 3-wire leads for series wiring. Lindy

Why have a split blade pickup? What is the point, and difference of doing this, instead of regular pole magnet ones?
@jennyfralin357
@jennyfralin357 3 года назад
This is a left and right hum canceling design, that requires one blade to be north and one south. Because of this there would be a magnetic "valley" in-between the D and G poles. If you tried this design with alnico rods you would hear a volume drop-off when you bent your G into this "valley" The blade cross each other so you don't hear any drop-off.

I am very interesting to these pickups and I have a few questions. 1. If you use a guitar with the compound Radius(9.5"-14") , which pickup radius should I choose? 2. I notice that they are fully hum-bucking pickups, but it seems that they still keep the single coil tone characters. That's why I like them. Anyway, I would like to know do you design it to sound like a singel coil or humbucker? 3. I am sure that they sound good for blues and jazz, as I find some good demos on youtube. But do the "Super High Output" version able to handle the metal song?

@@evangelosevangelou I have a set of "The Super High Output" split-blades and they're as silent as a Mouse! Probably the fact he's sitting very close to the amp isn't helping, plus it's a good idea to put copper-foil shielding in the cavities (maybe this has not been done in these guitars!?!) I also have guitars with Kinman pickups, but I still use copper-foil shielding in those too! There are a few reasons why guitars can be noisy! It's not always down to JUST the pickups! Also using a good quality guitar cable helps! It's not good to complain about stuff unless you've tried it yourself in your guitar! It's like me disliking a car, because I've watched somebody else road test it....

@@PrettyRecords i have 10 electric guitars with noiseless pickups!! Some of them there not noiseless at all!!!Im dislike it becuase i watch all this videos,i go and buy it,and then in some venues there are some of my guitars still noise!!some of them they are silent!!Recently i bought dimarzio noiseless!when i connect it with boss gt1000 with all the effects chorus gain amp reverb.... the noise is terible! With seymour duncan malmsteen i have no noise at all!!True noiseless! @PrettyRecords
@PrettyRecords Год назад
@@evangelosevangelou Hey calm down, you seem angry at the whole pickup industry! If you are so disappointed with most brands, then why don’t you make some yourself? Design your own! Because it seems like you dislike most quiet pickups! You say Seymour Duncan Malmsteen are the best you've tried? Ok, so stick with those! But it looks like he only makes a 52mm pole-spread though?? And that's not suitable for all guitars! At least with a blade design, you don't have to worry about pole-alignment! Also it looks like the YJM pickups have ONE stagger option only, and again, these are not suitable for flatter (Eg; 14” Radius upwards) fingerboards. However, both Kinman and Fralin address these issues!

You say 500k brightens it up? All I ever heard was 250k is brighter, 500k is a little lower tone sounding. Whats the truth here anyone know?
@jennyfralin357
@jennyfralin357 3 года назад
The volume pot dampens highs even when it's on 10. The lower the value the more highs are dampened. The higher value the less highs are lost.
@jakewildwood
@jakewildwood 3 года назад
500k is brighter wide-open, 1000k (1 meg) even more... so general rule of thumb is 500k for buckers (darker pickups) and 250k for singles (brighter pickups) -- I use 500k for everything because... if a guitar has a tone pot... that's what it's for if you want to damp your sound...
@seanmurphy26
@seanmurphy26 Год назад
Just in case you do not understand guitar talk, you have it the opposite. At 500k, you get more highs than you would at 250 k, no matter the pickup.
