A brilliant, unexpected moment, so spontaneous and humorous! Bravo Maestro Roth! It takes courage and chutzpah to sing in public, if it's not your everyday metier, and here he knows the style. The orchestra enjoy themselves and the Debussy "La Mer" quote at the finish is a touch of genial humor. Merci.
Love the song! Especially sung in French! There's just something about the French language that truly catches my attention, and Francois-Xavier does such a wonderful job in presenting the song "La Mer" to us. Also I have been enjoying his conducting of the orchestra on other selections of music as well. A very talented man surround by many other professional musicians and singers. Thank you to all for making these presentations possible as I am sure they are enjoyed around the world!
This man leads the world of classical music by example. True Greatness. Originality. And Inclusiveness. That's what we need. Last spring we had the Mahler festival in Amsterdam changed into "virtual/digital" because of Corona. I, together with thousands from all over the world enjoyed the broadcasts on internet. And Monsieur Roth just joined us in the online chat taking a humble back seat and enjoying the music with us. I call that greatness. He's given quite a few concerts in Amsterdam up to now. Not all were to my liking, but all were thought-provoking and made me leave the concert hall with the feeling that i learned something new about music and was constantly cordially invited to leave my musical bubble and see what's beyond. This last thing makes me say out loud: Monsieur Roth is the true succesor to the great Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Different in some respects but the same in challenging our believes and allowing us to become richer people through music.
A bon entendant...salut! 🙀🙀🙀💩💩💩🤡🤡🤡🎶🎶🎶🤪🤪🤪
@@zdenekklauda6267 I respect your opinion, however, compared to how I'm used to listening to this piece I would rather listen to just the beautiful music without his singing in this case. Not meaning that his voice is unbearable, it's just a personal preference. I don't really remember writing this comment and I don't usually like to say such things, but I'm sure I was in a bad mood back then.
