I Iove this scene. She's extremely beautiful and sensitive, showing all her qualities as an actress. You're watching in sitcom and still can feel touched. And he's the perfect match for her, you can see he cares about Fran.

The next scene where Max continues gladly carrying her around, even though he has noticed Fran is so recovered she forgot which ankle she got injured is a perfect complement to this one.

This scene is everything. I love when they would do serious scenes and truly show the characters’ capabilities as actors. You can see the chemistry between Fran and Charles here and the special connection they have. ❤️ It also proves that there nobody else for Fran than Maxwell. Although Nigel was offering her everything she ever yearned for in a man, deep down she could never get over Maxwell 💕

This episode had me in tears. She really didn't know where her heart lied on between the two brothers but after realizing Max still held something her heart wanted in the end, we see where her devotion and adoration truly were.

Yeah this was an emotional episode towards the end when she originally had left when it was late at night while The Bee Gees played in the background during the love montage. But at the end, it’s obvious that Fran has everything she needs right there. 🥰

Her missing the boat means it was not meant to be with Nigel. She was meant to be with Maxwell. It was fate she missed the boat. She knew where her home was. It was with Maxwell. No one else.

I’ve seen every episode of The Nanny and this by far is my favorite scene of the whole series. You can actually feel Frans love for Maxwell and Maxwell is so attentive and compassion towards Fran. Just beautifully done

I can't help it. I was team Fran/Mr.Sheffield from the very beginning. And tho I've seen these episodes more times than I want to admit, I can't help tearing up. Not many shows do that to me. (I love Lucy when she tells Ricky she's going to have a baby)

When Fran started to have a slight cry, that made me sad 😔. (But i knew it was just a distraction to get the letter ✉ before Mr Sheffield... )... but again, that little sad part just something... The Nanny is the best! My childhood tv series.

This show is always such fun to watch. Actually, the cry was real (for her character). She began to cry because her heart was breaking over Max, but to cover it up she said the tears were about her the pain in her ankle.

I don't think it was just a distraction to get the letter, I think this came after (an excuse that she went clubbing with Val). I do see there her real sorrow, real pain and real tears. Rare in always positive and cheerful Fran, that's why so precious.

This is actually my favourite moment in the whole show, on one hand Fran taking her life in her own hands, on the other fate making fun of her by not letting her go and yet somehow forcing her to stick with Mr Sheffield (I mean the older one, to be precise 😉). I can feel her vulnerabilty in my own guts.

She had decided to leave New York on a boat to marry Nigel, Maxwell's brother. That was what the letter was about. She grabbed the letter, because at this point in the episode she had changed her mind and come home to stay with Maxwell and the kids.

This is Season 4 episode 8: An Affair to Dismember. Fran and Maxwell's brother, Nigel, developed feelings for each other during his visit to New York. He proposed to her and asked her to return to London with him on the last ship for the evening. He told her to meet him at the pier at midnight and if she didn't show up, he knew the answer was no. After convincing herself that Max wasn't interested in her, she left a resignation letter on his desk while he was out (the letter she rushed to hide), kissed a sleeping Niles goodbye and left for the pier without waking anyone. She missed the boat by a few minutes and returned home to hide the letter, which is where this clip picks up from.
