my best sis you look gorgeous my best aunt & my best uncle looks awesome thank you for your huge respect against cpec friendship countries lot of love from your cousin viki 💙
You were fortunate to be an exchange student and could afford it. I was in the second year of college but I could afford being an exchange student to study German language even though I was encouraged to do so because of my grades. I had already two years of Spanish and eight years of Japanese and one year of German. I have an Rosetta stone computer program that was given to me by a friend. Thank you for your encouragement in love of language.
I love that place Lily . I went there with my husband once amidst some family issues and they kept calling for us to come home they were so jealous that we had time alone. He promised to purchased an apartment for me there. But fate had its own plans. He passed away 2013. Leaving me overwhelmed with real life to deal with . To date I am struggling and time is fleeting but God has a plan for me so I need to hear him and act accordingly that is all. I have something in mind along the line of what your Mom is doing . But i have no idea where the resources is going come from either . I can start very small online and now that too has its challenges. But it is the best for me until I see growth. I would like to expand to support the local market.
Just listening to you say the dates you traveled to Europe triggered my memories of 9/11. I am a New Yorker and it was an extremely tense and traumatic time for most of us. Though many people not living in NY but in the states didn’t feel it the same way. I can’t imagine being so far away from loved ones and not being able to communicate with your loved ones back home. It’s a joy to watch the interaction between you and you Mom and your son. You Mom was obviously a very strong woman. Be well and stay safe.
Innocent child doing the best they could. You did well. Theses things are just part of trying to be independent from your family in another country. Thanks for sharing.
Good day to you Lilly. I remember being in Paris as a child. We were stationed in Germany and my parents wanted to do a trip with the whole family. Well I ended up getting lost because everyone wanted to go up in the Eifal (can't spell)tower. Heights scared me then and now, so I ran. Thank the Lord my parents found me. From what my mom shares I spoke the german& a little bit of French. Children can pick up languages so easily. But as they say don't use it you lose it. Glad you and your mom, Luc, Chloe had some time together. God bless
Lilly, you are a blessing to all of us. Your mother is a positive role model. May Lord continue to bless you and your precious family and smile Nam. She has the joy of the Lord Jesus. Love Y'all.
I love that you're sharing this story with us, it is very helpful. I'm also currently processing previous traumas from my childhood with a recent visit with a childhood cousin. Experiences I have forgotten about in our childhood are coming back to be looked at again for healing. I don't feel as bad about it now, after hearing about your experiences. Thank you 😊🙏 it was perfect timing! God bless you and your family ❣️
All my three daughters went to AFS as exchanged students in Finland, Norway, and France. The youngest, who went to France, had to take some French language courses as pre-requisite. She had was the only one who had a difficult time and had to change the host family. I really felt sorry for her but couldn’t help so much, only contacted the coordinators here in Thailand. Anyway, she got along with her host sister and the latter wanted to visit us in Thailand and staying at our house. Due to the pandemic, things were delayed. Anyway, I just want to say that sending all my children to a different countries, difficult cultures, was the best decision that we did.
I went to France with AFS as well (I got a Stipendium, which I'll be always grateful for). But I never had to learn French before as a requisite. Maybe this is a new rule? My year was 2006-2007, which year did your daughter went to France?
@@internati She went to France about 5-6 years ago when she was in 11th grade. Now she is in her senior year in University. Not sure if it’s new rules or because we are from Asia, so the language are different.
@@premsiripupipat5381 thank you for answering so quickly :) It could be both of the possibilities! Interesting the way the countries handle the preparation and it is always amazing to meet other AFSers around the world! :) P. S. : I am from Brazil :) have a nice day
I have met people who have had such difficult terrifying dangerous childhoods.....listening to their stories would be hard even for a professional.....but what I love about them is that they keep their focus on fun and joys of life.. this is what's a success to them...they live life for joy....now their life's are in their control....and they can be the most fun people to be around.....god would be so proud
Went to Germany as a 20 year old student way back in 1967-68. Everything taught in German, of course. That was the time both Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated. All our news came days later from the Paris edition of the New York Harold Tribune. Like you, we were not encouraged to call home and most of us didn’t. Communicated with old fashioned letters. Many difficult times, but definitely life changing. So glad I went!
Hi Lilly, I hope this finds you doing great! I am listening to some of your older videos. I hope and pray that I can encourage you in some small way today. I do admire you being able to speak many languages. I cant do that but would love to be able to. God has placed you on my heart, and I simply wanted you to know that I am praying for you. God Bless!
Lovely video, as usual, you lost a lot of weight. You look great, Lilly. I drink green tea/peppermint tea, half half, it really makes a huge difference. And I fast till 4pm daily. Really takes a mind off food, and gives the organs and digestive system time to heal. I'm 60. God bless all of you.
Yes. I did the exchange student thing for 4 months at age 17 in 1976. Two families, one in St Raphael, the next in Tours, then work experience at a riding stable near Limoges. Mostly very good but I was probably happier during the work phase when I was just one of the lads. Staying with a family can certainly be stressful at that age. I can still speak French and have visited France throughout my life.
If you try focus on the positives....because your on holiday....your mum can do that really well and I'd say she's gone threw huge problems.....you are lucky to have her guidance ...
Sorry to remind you Lilly. Luke est ton fils, petit fils est grandson. My mother lived in France most her life and therefore French is somewhat my first language.
I life in Nyc and believe me it was so sad I will never forget . my brother works around the area .thanks god he still with us but he lost some friends. Thank you for taking us
Oh my gosh!!! @LillysLife, I just love ur videos and ur family!!! My family and I will definitely be visiting ur restaurant when it opens!! Hello from 🇨🇦!
Write your traumas down on paper, go sit on the beach there or wherever, forgive yourself, others and moments, then burn the paper and release into the ocean and say goodbye, you’ll feel so much lighter 😊👏👍🙏🏼💐
So good to know that you were an exchange student. My youngest daughter went to America Michigan as a exchange student in 2016.It was a wonderful experience.
I studied French for 7 years in school. I even took the Regent's exam in French in High School and got an 85% on it. Unfortunately, I never used it and have forgotten most of it. Interestingly, I found out through doing a genealogy DNA test that I am 4% French. Not having anyone to speak to in French makes it hard to keep learning.
😄same grade. I was in India and returned in march, studied just vocab. for the test. Used h.s. french in Quebec to order in restaurants and in stores. nice memories.
Sister in Christ , my favorite vlog!!! I love you all !!! Thank you for sharing all that. I know 4 different sign language . You are blessed by all the loved by all of us on RU-vid.. Luke so cute your mom fabulous . Lilly you are fabulous .. you guys have good weekend and stay safe❤❤❤
OMG You we’re still a CHILD…..I can’t Imagine being out of Our Country in 9/11 much less a Child it had to be FRIGHTENING for YOU…. Your life is so INTERESTING but for SURE U are a AMAZING Mother…… You BEAUTIFUL Ladies STAY SAFE….. Watching from Virginia 🌹
I stayed at an airbnb near the louvr for 800 a night. It was massive and had two bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Everything was gold. The 2nd place I stayed at had the view of the tower and was 1600 a night. It was worth it!
So sorry what you have gone thru but always remember Lilly, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me 🙏 May the Lord protect you Lilly ,Luke and your mama be safe and enjoy France, in Jesus Name🙏❤🙌
I studied in Spain in 86. Chernobyl blew up and the Columbia space shuttle blew up when I was there. I understand the fear and anxiety of being away from family when tragic events happen.
Vous vous débrouillez bien! La langue française est une des plus dures.. I took also Rosetta, but for korean (my Sister in law is Korean). I had the chance to do some of my college in the USA. En tout cas Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
Its alway be a plaseaure to watch your video and learn more about you. Love your family activities in Thailand. Your Son is very smart and cute. Wishing you a safe journey to US and back home.
Hi Lily!🥰 Your french is magnificent! Wow! And you still look 17 and even more beautiful , you have Jesus , Holy Spirit and it shows🙏❤ It's also genetic as your mom is so young looking and your sisters also beautiful .I have to say it again, you're such a good mom teaching Luke different languages and your patience and love. God bless you all, praying for safe and happy travels!!🥰🥰🙏🙏🙏
I’m so sorry you had to go thru that Lily. That is trauma and I hope you process and work thru it. I was in NYC on 9/11 and I still work thru the trauma.
YOURS is true trauma. Personally I can't see carrying that experience with you that long. She quickly got perturbed at her mother for not acknowledging THAT as the tragic events.
Lily, beloved of God, try to enjoy your time in Europe. Leave the nightmares of your past behind you. Don't allow your past to hinder this awesome moment you are sharing with beautiful Gigi and with adorable Luke. You're making new memories...enjoy yourself. Sending you hugs from NJ 🤗 ❤️ 💓 💗 💖
Wow, I am a person who studied the French language since I was at high school. Until now I remember overall studying and I desire to brush up my skills again. I have learned it again from the language application on my phone. I love this moment the same as you. Some day I inspired to enroll as an undergraduate degree within my country in the French major to be the second bachelor degree. Actually, I graduated already but I would like to study the second one to respond to my aspiration deeply. It looks waste time to take time studying but I still think over it again and again. If I had a choice more than the mentioned above, I would pursue the master degree but it may be in abroad to explore my experiences like you if I have an opportunity to grasp this. To Be honest , you look like princess Kate of Wales in some sides of your appearances. 😊 Will Anyone agree with me that you are similar to Princess Kate ? Please Share your ideas true or false?
Kate has the most common English female features. Lilly has more American strong features, big eyes stronger cheeks, lovely mouth lips. No compairison.
@@lucianatrambaglio4881 Thanks for your sharing. I merely feel this issue since I see her photos from the past of her life. I touch something that looks like when she was a teenager age but it is not at all what I mention above. Some parts of hers only. This may be my imagination purely but perhaps may not be true for everybody. I always accept and respect the overall sides of all and there are no arguments. 😃
Evening Lily omg that statue in your hotel room wouldbhav3 freaked me out haha. Why on earth would they put that in there it was horrible lol.Lucky there was a curtain you can cover it like your mom did.Enjoy you trip and take care god bless you all ❤️❤️
I lived in French speaking province of Canada 🇨🇦 Quebec for 30yrs I understand only basic French my co-workers are French but instead of teaching us French we teach them English now they can speak good in English! I’m Filipino speaking already 3 languages
