The Irish Guy takes a look at England versus France in the World Cup quarter-finals, after the former's 3-1 win over Senegal... hours after Kylian Mbappe had helped his country past Poland. Business enquiries: irishguybusiness@gmail.com
Irish guy but 48 hours ago: England will struggle against Senegal and it will go to extra time Irish guy now: ENGLAND HAD A RIDICULOUSLY EASY GAME AGAINST SENEGAL Come on man 😂😂
@@joecroft4274 It also depends on time. For example Portugal havent topped a group since 2006 and that was a group with Angola Mexico and Iran not exactly the best nations. Its only recently they have perfomed this well
But it was still in the past, all that matters in football is the present...its like saying 'the disrespect towards Blackburn rovers is insane, they're former premier league champions'..but they aint anymore...'the disrespect towards conor mcgregor is insane, he was a good fighter between 2013-2016'......but he isn't anymore...
Nah imagine how funny it would be if some dark magic miracle fuckery happened and England somehow beat France, this guy would have to drop a RU-vid apology video.
@@Durcy There is nothing more I would like than for France to beat England, but this English side can beat France on a good day, a very good day that is.
This is what I don’t get from other fans. England are supposed to not think we will beat teams like Senegal or Sweden easily otherwise we are arrogant. But yet we are ‘lucky’ because we have only beaten teams like Senegal or Sweden in the knockouts. Which is it? You can’t have it both ways. This is why I don’t take people like this seriously.
Yeah. Only england get 'easy' draws. Look at who France have played to get to QFs...Denmark, tunisia, australia and Poland...right. isnt that as easy as England have had? 😂
Take a look at Euro 2016, Germany VS Italy. One of the Azzurri even gestured Neuer like "I'm going to chip over you" and then missed his penalty big time
@@hzmo0 Let's not forget that Ireland's greatest ever manager; Jack Charlton.... was English! Oh and so was their Captain in 1990 and later the only other manager to take Ireland to a World Cup - Mick McCarthy! And their Captain in 1994 - Andy Townsend! And both their strikers in 1990/94 - John Aldridge and Tony Cascarino!
The largest genuine sporting steal England have made recently is eoin Morgan Sure greasier and rice were toxic in using the Irish youth teams but they are English, it’s like arguing sterling should play for Jamaica or saka should play for Nigeria
Whenever England beat them. Before the match they are world beaters. After The match when England win they are relegated to the status of National League relegation strugglers.
I mean, they had to face Germany, Portugal and Italy twice (and the Portugal team they faced was part of a Golden Generation that could actually compete for big trophies). Maybe, you could make a list with just the teams they had faced since their 2014 Group Stage exit, since the closest to a giant they had faced was a Germany team who got knocked out of the Groups in 2018 and was almost eliminated by Hungary
Bit of a backtrack on the last video, "Poland will knock France out" "France will have a Qatari meltdown" "England would only beat Senegal with a dodgy penalty in Extra time"
I agree with the Irish Guy. If Gareth Southgate couldn't beat a team like the US then how do we expect England to beat a team like France. Southgate will probably play a 5 back this game with Saka playing an inverted left-wing back
@@joeloates1685 Did you see the squad France had that day. It was the same with Brazil losing to Cameroon. None of them played their starters. They played a secondary squad. England played their strongest squad against the US
@@animamaster that’s a bad argument. Many favourites have lost matches they should not have in this tournament. The dynamics of national teams are very different from club levels. Players who are amazing at club might not work at national team
Mbappe missed about a million one on one's despite Poland chasing before he finally scored what was a less than spectacular goal. He's really getting sugarcoated.
I've been saying that England only got shooting boots against teams they should beat and are so lackluster when they face a team that doesn't soak up pressure....
So the Eng-Fra combined XI he came up with is Lloris (even Nick Pope is better than him) Walker, Varane (for me it's Saliba), Upamecano (Stones starts over him), Hernandez Tchoumeni (Rice), Foden, Bellingham Dembele (Saka miles clear), Kane, Mbappe His: 7 France, 4 England Mine: 3 France, 8 England The only controversial one for me is Rice over Tchoumeni, but even with Tchoumeni it's still 7/4 in England's favour.
@@baboucarrnjie7084 Saka is England's joint top scorer this tournament, & has been Arsenal's best player for the last 3 years. Dembele has flopped at Barcelona, even after Messi left when he should've stepped up to the challenge out of Messi's shadow. He did not
I was really nervous about facing France. Now the Irish Guy has written us off this badly, I'm going to go bet my house on us utterly destroying France 😂😂😂
To be absolutely fair Italy, Germany, and Portugal are all big teams and we've played some tough countries along the way. Croatia made the World Cup final and that Denmark side really shouldn't have been underestimated. But really can't see how we'll get past France.
Im not the biggest southgate fan but I really think you overestimate how much the coach tactical knowledge matters in international football, they set up the overall style but its more about man management and picking a style that suits your team, we will lose because france have a better team more than the managers
