Honestly when I first heard the news about how “Selena’s best friend gave her a kidney” I was like okay, I didn’t even know these two were friends. And after the procedure I didn’t see or hear much of their friendship later on. In retrospect it really looks like Selena tried to maintain this friendship for obvious reasons and now … well, they aren’t exactly on the best terms.

I don’t think she meant to exclude Francia with that statement, so I don’t find the statement itself problematic as she was basically just emphasising how she didn’t feel like she fit in with other musical artists. I do think that she should have been mentioned in the documentary though. That awful friend Raquelle showed up but no Francia. I don’t think the lack of mention was ill intended but they probably had a fall out and didn’t feel comfortable anymore mentioning her. Granted, even in very deep well known bits that referenced her past relationship and other parts she did not go that much in depth. I do feel like she still should have mentioned Francia.

That part 😮😞… Its definitely not how the situation should have been handled. I am a living kidney donor coordinator, the correct procedure is that the match results should be relayed to the donor. Giving the results to the potential donor first means you allow them time to absorb the news, and decide how to move forward in a protected, no pressure zone. We also encourage the donor to be the one to relay the news to the intended recipient.

Even if she gave herself the luxury of educating herself, did she really feel like she had the option of saying NO? the doctor hyped Selena with the information before hand. For example, having your best friend as your boss etc. This could cause complications within the friendship, as one had given the other kidney. Selena may feel obligated to remain friends with her, as she literally donated an entire organ to her. Same with the other girl, she has that power over Selena, and may become entitled to their friendship.

Doctors look potential donors over tooth and nail so that they are completely confident they are not causing harm to the donor. My testing took 4 months! There is nothing unethical about it. I feel sad if you have friends who need a kidney and you would rather see them suffer than do what you can to help.

@@geewiz8253 Ummmm, theyre literally quoting an interview where thats how SELENA HERSELF rudely addressed Francia. Youre right, it is so disgustingly simplistic and shows how Selena truly isnt as good of a person as she portrays. The interviewer asked her about a tattoo and Selena said, almost verbatim "I got the date of my kidney surgery tattoed. I got it with the girl that gave it to me. And I got one with Julia Michaels".....so Selena herself referred to Francia as "the girl" but yet named EVERYBODY else whom she got a tattoo with/for etc. She literally called Francia "the girl" so I truly think you need to remove this comment and repost it on the interview to criticise Selena, not this person who quoted her. This person is specifically pointing out exactly the same essence of your comment; how rude and disrespectful it was of Selena to do that. The comment you wrote should specifically be addressed to Selena herself since she didnt have the common decency to refer to the best friend whom apparently saved her life by name, but mentioned everybody else by name. The more you know....

But the interview is called "Selena Gomez reacts to Jason Derulo wanting to date her" and the channel is "Capital FM" n the time stamp is 2:36 :) Its sad seeing how she says it and then immediately name drops everyone else who she got a tattoo with/for. Please respond so I can see your thoughts so you can see this isnt clickbait, people misquoting her or miscontruing her words, and see for yourself that thats her legit reference.
