I've not seen this kind of pitch by pitch attention from Buck Showalder. Carlos is a baseball wizard. He is conjuring up this reality from the vast pool of random possibilities. The change of fate is his magic.

In USMC bootcamp they cleaned our snot lockers with CS gas (tear gas) in a locked Quonset hut. Every drop of liquid in my (and everyone else's) lungs heaved up and was thickly deposited on the shirt. But talk about breathing! It felt like I had double lung volume after that. I actually recommend it as lung therapy for emphysema and other water in lung issues (side effects of meds etc.).

I saw a stat that the Mets put 15 balls into play with exit velo over 89 mph. This was a game in which lots of balls just didn't fall. The narrative that the Mets had a lot of bad at bats, I think, is just not really there. Don't get me wrong. Francis deserves some credit. Although he only struck out one -- which is kind of mind-boggling -- he did induce a ton of weak pop ups. So, the guy was doing something right. But there was some real hard contact that just turned into outs too.

Yesterday 9/11 the Mets saw the hand of the Almighty move over spirit of New York Citys' sacrifice. Here's how: nothing for eight innings, then this happened in the 9th 11 Mets plated. In 9th 11plated. 9 11 on 9/11 for the win. Lindor is the team captain. Greatness often speaks softly, but carries a big, big stick!

@@alanweinman1081 Manaea, at age 32, has largely reinvented himself ... and he is awesome. What do the Mets do moving forward? No way Sean takes the "option," .. he's pitched himself into a new stratosphere contract wise. This is where it get difficult for the Mets. How much money do you commit to a 32 year old pitcher? I think the Mets, ideally, lock him up for 3 years at roughly $19 mil/per -- a $57 mil commitment. If I was Manaea, I'd be looking for 4 years. So ... if the Mets could lock him up at 4 years for roughly $16 mil per year ... that is a tough, tough decision for Stearns. However it pans out, I would love to see Manaea in the rotation next year. He has really found "it," and he's one of the best pitcher in MLB right now. Good for him.

Just for the record I want to say that it's crazy that they would disparage or speak that little of Jose Reyes who holds several Mets all-time records such as stolen bases and triples. Unlike you guys I don't take him for granted and feel that he's not the all-time best shortstop but right underneath Lindor...

Maybe I’m old but why do we dissect our pitchers so much.u would think analyzing ur pitchers so in depth would almost guarantee an in depth breakdown for the opposing team coming into town……might as well just yell to ur catcher what ur going to throw. Makes no sense for us to b the scouting department for the opposing team…..imo so stupid
