Interpretazione superba e da brividi.. È stato il più grande tenore del 900 ed è un pensiero suffragato da chi conosce bene il mondo della lirica ..Una voce fantastica,piena di sfumature,unite a una padronanza della tecnica eccezionale frutto di un impegno maniacale e al limite del perfezionismo.In più una presenza scenica quasi unica unita a un carattere umile e di rispetto totale verso il pubblico e verso i colleghi che per lui avevano una stima profonda (in primis Mario del Monaco)..

@@vladomontezuma626 según mi experiencia (soy músico Italo cubana) es más fácil para los italianos pronunciar correctamente el español, los hispano parlantes tenemos menor conciencia de las consonantes y nos escuchamos con menor atención, obviamente estoy generalizando :) considera también que los grandes cantantes toman clases serias y profundas de fonética aplicada al canto. I've heard a lot of tenors. I had season tickets to the SF Opera for about forty years. I've heard opera all over Italy Austria and North America. I've sung about thirty opera roles myself (as a bass). I had my own opera company for a while too. Trust me. I've heard a lot of tenors. Corelli was special.
@@matejknezevic6989 Perhaps when you've been in the industry you forget what it sounds like to people who haven't been there. To me (disclaimer: favourites are Gigli, Bjorling, di Stefano and other tenors in random order) Corelli has compelling tone but is basically just shouty. Lovely noise, but uncouth. What's Granada about? No idea. Lots of "sound and fury, signifying nothing".
Its amazing how someone could write an amazing song about a city without ever knowing it in his entire life (Agustin Lara, Mexican, wrote this one, and he never got the chance to go to Granada...), just a curious fact, Franco Corelli... simply perfection, my favorite tenor of all times...
Il vero tenore lirico. non come insegnano oggi a cantare, spingendo, tenendo la lingua bassa, la laringe bassa e spingendo, il suo suono è naturale senza sforzo nell'acuto girando la voce, voce di testa squillante e chiara, la laringe lasciatela stare, rilassate il velo palatino come se dovesse sbadigliare e tutto sarà naturale e puro.

Yes, the video is really from the 80-s, Corelli was over 60 here. This and Nessun Dorma, Celeste Aida, Pira, Requiem, Addio, La fleur (all can be to seen on youtube) were made for an Italian tv program about great singers. There is a short interwiev before each aria as well.

I love Lanza, Domingo and their respective recordings of "Granada." They both had big, vibrant, beautiful voices, buttressed in each case by a powerful temperament. So their renditions are certainly exciting. And yet, and yet ... here is Corelli. His voice is here at its best. Huge, even bigger than Lanza's or Domingo's. With overwhelming resonance, more freedom and squillo in the acuti than any other tenor, and still considerable beauty of tone.
Congratulations on such an astute assessment of Corelli's vocal splendor. Needless to say, it is by no means a comprehensive list of this magnificent tenors vocal virtues; one might start by mentioning his incredible breath control, his ability to sing seemingly endlessly on a single breath, and then his...etc., etc., etc,....
Wonderful!!!!, no comparision with non of the mentioned tenors!!!; he was the "Boss" and will be for a long time!!! I like very much his voice and interpretation, even if he pronounces some "funny spanish words"...Bravooo!!!!

No darned comparison. Jussi Bjorling was a much better than Lanzo. Do a bit of musical studying before you belt it out on here.

Grande franco coorelli. En México lo apreciamos tiene un color de voz parecido a Nuestro Jorge Negrete que Biógrafos cuentan que franco admiraba a Jorge y en vida lo vino a conocer .

I agree ROSY PLAIN,.......absolutely,...lets celebrate EVERY great tenor,...we are so blessed to have their music with us everyday! We will never agree on who was no 1 or 2 or 3 etc.. And we are NOT SUPPOSED to agree; thats what make each one of us so unique,..... we are all different. Every one of us have the gift of hearing every voice differently, wow,..how amazing is that. Bottom line;...... we all agree on the legendary tenors,....now lets just enjoy them according to the ability that we each have to hear the beauty of their vocal gifts!
