Franco Fagioli es un artista fuera de serie. Hay que seguirlo y no perderse nada de lo que interpreta, un artista como este vienen muy pocos en un siglo.
I've heard several countertenors in my seventy years...but never one who sounded as manly and convincing as Franco Fagioli. He's not just a phenomenal vocalist; he's also a superb artist.
@cheshire cat, Thank you. Only just over two months to go! In the meantime I have bought all his available CDs and DVDs including whole operas. The Vinci Arteserse is one of my favourites. I can’t stop listening to Fagioli. I think he is a great actor, too, not just a singer out of this world.
Truly a vocal miracle. I find it difficult to listen to most male sopranos, countertenors or other fake voices but this man is a vocal phenomenon like Callas or Sutherland. He is unique and unbelievably beautiful in his performance of this music.
Fake voices? They are not fake , it is the real ability to move your voice higher than most men , Franco’s octave range is 3 , others have less ,,room,,
I am going to see him twice this month at the Versailles Royal Opera . He is going to perform in a recital of Cafarelli arias and in Vinci's Catine in Utica. I am so looking forward to both performances after last year's Artaserse. I am an absolute fan!!!!!
Agreed--Senesino couldn't have done as well because he was a low alto castrato. The role was intended for a soprano castrato -- Serse was written after Senesino has left Handel's opera company.
