The Bulls became the latest South African team to experience the
heartbreak of a loss at home in the URC final.
The Glasgow Warriors defence denied the hosts the title with a 16-21 scoreline.
It was one that hurt Bulls director of rugby Jake White who said after
the match he already has the date with the Scottish champions marked
on his calendar.
He was outsmarted by another South African-born coach.
Warriors' coach Franco Smith speaks to Vaylen Kirtley.

Franco Smith has done an outstanding job for my home city team. He has brought South African mentality and will to win to my team thank you Franco and thank you South Africa rugby.

100% agree. He has transformed the Warriors in 2 seasons and the players' loyalty to him is unmistakable. The SRU need to be looking at this because Scotland hasn't delivered on their potential, with the incredible talent we have at the moment.

Complimenti a Franco Smith. Purtroppo da allenatore dell’Italia non è riuscito a far scoccare la scintilla. Magari era un momento no sia per i giocatori della nazionale che per lui come allenatore. Ma per lui sudafricano riuscire a battere con una squadra scozzese i Bulls sudafricani e’ motivo di grande orgoglio. Bravo e poi parla bene l’italiano. 😊

A little disingenuous about finishing position in the league when they’re in the easiest section, only playing Irish & SA teams once, whereas SA and Irish teams play their country teams twice, and tear lump out of each other. I don’t have a problem with this set up however. But that aside, fair play to him and his team, an incredible achievement.
