Not really, he isn't as good as Seedorf defensively, or in attack, and seedorf is way more versatile as well, Seedorf can literally play anywhere in midfield and be great at it

Lampard and Seedorf are great, but Xavi won 2 trebles, 2 euros and a world cup. There is no competition. Xavi's 08/09 season is the best season for any midfielder ever.

@@redfordreddington8834 He was on bench because he tore his ACL in '05. Will take a good year or two to recover from that. And for the skills he was considered a perfect midfielder, his pausa, vision, passing and ability to find spaces are unmatched.

@@GIBBO4182Ballon d'Or is an arbitrary, perception-based award that has produced a lot of aberrations. If it were based on merit alone, Xavi would've won one in the late 2000s. Xavi was more consistent than Zidane in terms of controlling play. But he was less spectacular which hurts the perception we have of him in relative terms.

@@GIBBO4182 When Messi wins Ballon d'Or in 2010, it is proof that the award is vulnerable to arbitrary thinking. You can also make that case for Nedved. It's absurd that Xavi never won it, but his style of play - i.e. not spectacular - wasn't conducive to winning this award. But anyway, the only other midfielders in the same tier as Xavi are Mattheus and Zidane in the modern era.

Seedorf just for the sheer versatility and being excellent in every position literally. Better than both Lampard and Xavi defensively. Great in attack, great centrally or on the wing. He literally played everywhere for us at Milan, in his final years he was even playing as a inside for behind the striker with Kaka, and that brought us the 2007 Champions League. Seedorf was just something else, Champions league titles with Madrid, Ajax, and 2 with us at Milan. Incredible footballer.

I really enjoy this particular panel with Dan as host. It's interesting how the interactions are different depending on who is there. I do enjoy Craig's salty moodiness and he has some interesting takes but sometimes he is too domineering. Dan is the only one that can shut him down when he goes too far but I have noticed some feisty exchanges between Jan and he. Makes for good TV.

Xavi is the greatest playmaker of all time. Theres been none better than him at that particular position. He even made FIFA's all time best 11 a few years back, and would have won the Ballon D'Or in 2010 if someone other than Iniesta had scored the winning goal for Spain in the WC final (they took a lot of votes from each other which made Messi win it when he was 3rd favourite that year).

2:20 This whole question is an argument for getting rid of players like Rashford, Shaw, McTominay, et al. Pep set the standard to make other club to be a success in a matter of 1 - 2 seasons ... klopp took 3 seasons to make Liverpool top team again .. Seedorf starts for me. Xavi is better than Lampard but with no Iniesta along side him the telepathic play associated with him iis not the same. Seedorf gives you the qualities of both and he's physically stronger so if it's to choose just one I'm picking him, benching Xavi, and dropping Frank.
