Lovely man, we`re the poorer for his passing. So many delightful memories of him and Dennis Nordern on My Music and My Word, and of their scripting of wonderfully funny record sketches for Peter Sellers, among so many other things. In the early 70`s I passed him walking in Irving Street in London - impossibly tall, the ubiquitous bow tie, immaculately dressed and emanating a very tranquil relaxed personality. I managed a shy smile, which he returned...

tom moston Yes he did. Frank Muir was also a top TV executive for many years as well as being a talented script writer and broadcaster. He had a huge amount of power at the BBC back in the day.

What a lovely man. And what a beautiful picture he makes of Christmas. I wonder what he would make of today's non-church going British society. God Bless you Frank.

agreed, used to love him on call my bluff , happy memories of TV shows in the 1970s when i was growing up, everybody was nicely spoken, these days TV seems to be just about shouting and noise, wonderful eloquent people on tv back then, Willie Rushton, Kenneth Williams, Peter Ustinov, great storytellers and role models for the young

@@dougieb2159 You are right about that. I was a child in the 70s but I must admit, there seemed to be a better class of celerity in those days. Few survive from that time now though. I recent years Tim Brooke-Taylor and Barry Cryer passed away. Graeme Garden hasn't been on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue for a good while now, so I suspect his time is looming too. Wasn't it great how these people could make you laugh so deeply without resorting to smut or swearing.

@@johnbellamy3406 definitely!! standards throughout society were much higher than nowadays, TV shows seemed to actually cater for intelligent people nowadays its all about scandal and the lowest common denominator in everything, wish i could go back tbh!!

After the first minute of watching the video, I heard the kettle turn on automatically in the kitchen, the tea rustled in the box, the cups on the shelf rang, the hands of the kitchen clock moved with clicks closer to 5 pm
