@@Tristan_SingsJazz Hey, so nice of you to ask! Super happy, more in love than ever, thanks a lot. Started dating her in 2004 as teens, married her 2 years ago and just had our first daughter. God bless you 🙏🏻
Hey Guys...the fact that he forgot the words to that song means nothing. He was so into performing it, and it was so swinging that he got lost in the moment. When he got to the bridge and sang the line 'Don't you know you fool....you ain't...a never gonna win' you would realize how absolutely great he is. He never phrased that line like that in his life. He was singing his ass off and really enjoying it. Every song from this performance with the Basie Band was absolutely exceptional. Sinatra did many performances with Count Basie and Quincy Jones conducted, but not all the time. Many times Basie conducted from sitting at the piano. Quincy was a very good producer. But he was not a piano player or was he a good conductor and he had a ghost writer named Billy Byers who arranged the songs and Quincy put his name on it. I know you don't want to hear that...but every musician in that band and all the musician playing in any band Sinatra used, knew that was the case. Nobody said anything about it, because Frank liked him personally. I know many of you who will read this will say that I am full of crap...but what I am telling you is the truth. As far as the unidentified dude who said, 'he kinda ruined the song' I'l like to hear a version of who he thinks sang it good. That's actually funny! OK....I'm ready for all the negative comments directed at me for saying all of this, but I know a great deal about Frank Sinatra and all of his music. Just saying.....
people will argue that somehow he was better in the 50s, maybe even the 40s. but all he was then was a singer. by the early to mid 60s, he had mastered his craft. he was a performer. the showman.
When he was 20-30 years old he has a better voice, with 40-50-60 he had to do others things becasue there are many others singers better than he, so he start perfoming and doing commedy (shows)
It was recorded and broadcast on closed circuit tv, on June 20, 1965. It was a benefit concert for Dismas House, a national halfway home for convicts. The event was held in the main theater of Kiel Opera House. The show was Frank, Sammy, Dean, and Johnny Carson who was the host. The DVD is part of a CD/DVD set and has the entire show. My daughter saw it when we were in Best Buy many years ago, and when she showed it to me and I had the biggest smile ever. I bought two copies just in case. :-) It's for sale online I'm sure and it definitely is on RU-vid.
Oh, he just lost his place for a second, s--t happens, you know. I saw him in person many times and RARELY does that ever happen! He was human, you know! But he can make light of it and go on and sometimes the crowd loves that!
