There is snitching, and there is snitching. Frank just burned all the cops that were dirty. If he was going down, everyone was going down.

Those guys in the bowling alley deserved prison for wearing those pants in public.

I like how Frank and the Detective find common agreeable grounds knowing where they both come from and what they want. Frank probably never seen a good cop a day in his life. and any good cop he seen probably died in front of him

Fun fact: Frank Lucas was shot 197 times by a Russian hit squad at the end of Training Day.

OMG it just occurred to me that, when they keep passing the cup of coffee its symbolic. It's a stand-in for "check" and "checkmate" in chess. Every time one of them makes a really good point about the current topic in the interrogation, they push the cup towards the other in a way of saying, "Check. Your move." They're "one upping" each other. Great writing!

Can’t blame him for snitching. Everybody got too greedy, it was never going to be enough.

I always loved the choice by the writers for the cup of coffee to spill when Trupo stands up. Signifying he’s made his decision to kill himself. If he was still wanting to be alive, he wouldn’t just stand up and ruin his bedsheet by spilling the coffee. But he knew he’d be dead soon, so why should he care.

And there was never a dirty cop again

Sadly the real Frank never really got back on the right way.

To all the people pointing out that Frank only snitches on the dirty cops... This is a Hollywood movie, which often distorts facts to make the movie better. In real life, Frank snitched on everyone. Cops, drug dealers, mafia... all of them.

Frank talking about his cousin becoming the new normal has always stood out to me. I was probably around 14 when my dad took me to see this movie so I marvel at the idea that grown men would do a child that way Stuff like that cements my distrust toward the "authorities" Not for nothing, when you have to bust a group of punk kids on a regular who very well could blast back at you, you're going to be a little stiff. But I think knocking teeth out is a decent enough message that you're not playing around There has to be some intelligence in the mind of an officer that merits the justice they are trying to uphold. As in the system is going to do its duty to correct a young fool You on the other hand are honor bound. In fact its in your anonymity which merits strength. My dad happened to work in corrections as a rehabilitation educator. He knows full well that the police hire hot blooded greenhorns

The character of Richie is real. He exists. He has lived to a ripe old age. He was a respected criminal defense attorney. How this bizarre event took place after he made so many mortal enemies, is difficult to explain.

The amount of acting talent in this movie is staggering.

What sucks is that 95% of films or books on Organized crime figures end with them telling because that allows for all the details and the basis of the film/book. The very few that didnt tell, we dont know the fine details of their story, we can guess but without publicly available documents and transcripts its tough to fill in the blanks. The people who stood tall and didnt tell are the ones that I think deserve the praise, not these dudes who played the game and got the benefits and then told on another man to get out of what they did, thats a coward. I can say that because Ive been put to the test and given the option to make a phone call and everything would go away, I could never look at myself in the mirror doing that. People who do make that choice to tell end up doing a life sentence as a rat

Idk the coffee cup falling down and spilling coffee all over the bed looked like someone blowing their brains as they fell down. Kinda like what Trupo was about to do.

I watched this specifically for the moment when Trupo shoots himself and was disappointed.
