great stuff! actually this arrangement not only makes sense, the use of multiple instruments, evoking not only different cultures but different time frames of acoustic and electronic instruments really brings out the breathtaking palette of Zappa's composition. Kudos to everyone involved!
I do not know this for a fact...but I have a strong hunch that Frank, wherever he is, is watching your stuff and is giving that sly smile (you all know that sly "Frank Zappa" smile) and is approving of your work. Honest to the music and true to the imagery. Congratulatons

This is how strange music can be used to unite, instead of divide! Most pop music today is about thinly veiled sexual propositions, the unwillingness to say what you mean, and the consequences of being misunderstood - or a political equivalent. Say what you mean, mean what you say, and the G-Spot Tornado may follow.
Nicely done! IIRC, Zappa once thought this chart might not be humanly playable; he was really impressed when Ensemble Moderne pulled it off. I 2nd Solo Godspeed's request: tell us more about how this mash-up came together, how was it coordinated, and are you going to do more? I'd love to participate, and I know many other musicians who would, too!
Bought Jazz from hell when it came out I was 19 just remembered how good this track is. Try it with headphones whilst a tornado is happening walking the streeets
The other definitive cover of this amazing piece. The first is the wonderful Perfomance by Ensemble Modern on the Yellow Shark album. This is the other one though. What's more, the video is phenomenal too.
