Aloha! What was the name of the third restaurant - there was no name that came up on the map. Thank you! I will be in Frankfurt next week and am looking at your food tour!

Thanks Jim. The second one is called Atschel and it has been closed since January due to water damage. Shame because they really had one of the best green sauces in Frankfurt! Hope you enjoy your trip here, Frankfurt is an amazing city!!

Great video. What’s the more traditional way of eating the pork shoulder in Frankfurt? How traditional is the pork shoulder in Frankfurt or is it the Frankfurt take of the pork shoulder from southern Germany?

The most traditional way to eat Pork shoulder in Frankfurt is either boiled in sauerkraut or roasted and served with sauerkraut. In Frankfurt pork shoulder is cured and therefore extremely delicious. Curing changes meats taste and texture, in a good way:)

Cooking the World How do you say boiled pork shoulder and roasted pork shoulder in German and which one do you like better? Again thank you

genxer 711 So here in Frankfurt they are called Schäufelchen (Schaufel - shovel - because of the bone shape) and I can say without hesitation that the roasted once are much better, because they are crispy from outside. The roasted once are called Schäufelchen gegrillt.

genxer 711 there is another dish that is called „Rippchen“ and those I would recommend to eat cooked. They are also prepared the same way: cured and cooked in sauerkraut for several hours. Those are highlight on my tour and any meat lover will employ them a lot:)

Fun fact: While you certainly had foods and drinks from Frankfurt, most of the time you haven't been in Frankfurt, but in Sachsenhausen ("Dribdebach"). Never tell natives from Sachsenhausen that they live in Frankfurt, they will by livid :-)

Oliver Weber Bullshit, Frankfurt is not only the downtown part with all the pretty skyscrapers, Frankfurt is from Goldstein to Seckbach. „Hibdebach“ and „Dribdebach“ is just what we locals call the parts of the city that are north and south of the Main. You will not find a single person, who says Sachsenhausen and Frankfurt are two different things. SACHSENHAUSEN IS A PART OF FRANKFURT!
