If you enjoy this, then you are in a rare group of people.....I saw every Frankie & Annette Beach Movies when I was 13 yrs old and loved them!!! I always thought when I was 18, I would meet a great group of teens like this and we would spend a week at the beach like this and find young love, dance, enjoy the beach, and make wonderful memories!!!! Long for days and times like this when love was innocent and it was a different world than today....
I said the same thing, to some friends a few years back. I too went and watched all these movies... and hoped, that when I got older, I would find a group of friends and hit the beach with them, and have similar experiences. Never did.... no one was into it, in my day. I did take a number of young women to the beach with me and walk along in the moonlight... at least that part came true.
@@Stefanio64 I just documentary about biography history books documentary on money made movie 🍿🎥 on the same time years interview review history books years before I Hollywood studios bowl of the same place looks good 👍👍👍👍
The best song out of all the movies ever! I am so greatful that mom raised me on these movies and such. even though my friends from my age group think I'm a bit....don't know the word because they haven't come up with one but I don't care. Oh and I'm 26.
The title, "America's Sweetheart" isn't given out lightly...She really was America's Sweetheart... Sweet, talented, pretty... and evidently, one of the nicest people ever...
RIP 2 surfers-turned-actors who were in the Frankie & Annette Beach Party movies. ED GARNER (passed on Mar 5) and JOHNNY FAIN (passed on Mar 9). Both Garner & Fain were plucked off Malibu beach by Director William Asher to do surfing stunts and provide atmosphere for Beach Party (1963) the very first of the Frankie & Annette flicks. As the beach movies became wildly popular, a core group of surfers and bikini-clad starlets emerged as audience favorites. American-International signed them to contracts and began promoting them as the 'beach party gang'. Ed Garner and Johnny Fain were part of the gang, along with Salli Sachse, Patti Chandler, Mary Hughes, Linda Opie and Michael Nader (who would one day star in Dynasty). The 'beach party gang' didn't just appear in the films; AIP would also send them out on promotional tours. Kitschy movie ads heralded: 'the beach party gang goes drag racing' or 'the beach party gang goes sky diving'. Garner and Fain were in Beach Party, Muscle Beach Party, Bikini Beach, Pajama Party, Beach Blanket Bingo, Ski Party, How to Stuff A Wild Bikini and The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini (Garner only). Thank you ED GARNER and JOHNNY FAIN for bringing the myth of a sun-drenched California surfing paradise to all us kids who grew up with these movies.
I’m thirteen and I absolutely adore these movies. I would kill and be killed to experience a summer romance or just any romance like this. Both are beautiful talented actors in a beautiful movie
Happy 80th Birthday Frankie! You and Annette were such a beautiful couple! I have seen all your films and like them all. Even more so today because all we have now is junk. I never thought I would say this but I long for films like yours and Annette's.
That is sweet Sarah, it is wonderful that you have those memories - it is a nice compliment to your father looking after you and your family from Above. Peace be with you, Ciao, L
Stephanie Russell You got that right!!!! I stopped going to the movies years ago since there is too much garbage out there that tries to be "entertainment" and these new movies are anything but that!! I just LOVE this song and seeing Annette and Frankie together along the beach. GREAT songs and cast in the movie, too, along with a fun plot. Sad to say that Hollywood will never make films like this again but after 50 years, these beach party movies still shine and give all of us so many cherished memories of a much simpler time in our lives.
This was one of if not the best song out of all of the Beach Movies they made. Us older people will always say. They just don't make them like they use to. Funny how parents back in these days worried about us youth watching these movies and how it may corrupt us. Now days with all the sex, violence and cursing all to many parents just don't care what the kids watch. They even take them to some the kids could not see alone due to ratings. Yeah, times have changed.
I watched this movie with my grandkids a while ago & they loved this song! Glad I found it!!! Wait til they find out I found it!!! They have no idea!!! I will have them over the weekend!!! They are 6 & 9yrs old. I love to show them movies like this!!! Thanks for the memories!!!
Frankie Avalon just did an interview. he stated that they did date. But moved on and remained friends.until her death,he also said he is the godfather to her son.
If I were Frankie in their movies...I would have not looked at the other girls and grabbed Annette and held on with all the love I had...no matter what the script said LOL
I’m glad to have found this on here! I’m a 90s baby & I grew up watching these movies with my grandma. She passed away a little over a year ago. We used to have movie nights while drinking hot coco & eating cinnamon toast when were little. When it was my turn to pick a movie these movies were the ones that I would pick out almost all the time. This brings back so many good memories😊
I'm watching this movie for the 1st time and this song & performance stands out for me. I'm a songwriter and musician and this is done so well. I prefer this version to the studio version. I absolutely love it.
Just watched this movie after more years than I care to admit. So, I came on hoping someone posted this up to share it with some family and recall it to their memories. Thanks for posting this up.👍
If not a better world back then, it certainly was a better culture...can you imagine two young celebrities today doing a song like this???? Sweetness and sentiment are long dead in this sewer of a culture which exists now....
AHHH! I love them, I took this stupid quiz because i was very bored, and my teen angels were Frankie and Annette, then I took this other quiz and it said that my 1950s/60s husband was Frankie haha! Makes sense! Haha. I want to meet him, I invited him to my sweet 16 last year, but he didn't come.. it was still fun though!
They're so cute together :3 And I love Annette's huge hair-do! It reminds me of how Julie Roberts' character in "Steel Magnolias" describes her mother's hair: a brown football helmet. I love it xDD
I would love to a c.d. with all these songs on it. there is no way you can't listen to the songs from the beach movies and not feel good & try to sing along.
each Blanket Bingo was the best of the series for sure.....dunno if they had more money or what but the music, acting and stars made it. Sadly it went downhill after that....
@totalronnie There really AREN'T movies like this, which is too bad... Either there is no singing at all, or they are specifically musicals ('a play built around music' as opposed to 'a movie that's not ABOUT music, but has some in it')
If only they would clean up "Glee" a little, get the actors to keep their pants on, and maybe sing some less tawdry songs... then wed be getting somewhere!
