First rock album I ever bought with my own money was Metal Health. They totally changed everything for rock music as far as making it viable and commercially successful, but more importantly shining a light on the entire scene. They really broken the door down and Frankie was leading the charge. Thank you for inspiring me to pick up the sticks Frankie, we all love you and miss you so much. Rest in eternal love and light.
There went one of my all-time heroes. Frankie I thank you so much for making me the drummer that I am today. It was largely because of you. I’ll forever love and miss you my friend.
I first saw this giant of a drummer in late summer of 1983. I was at a Loverboy show at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine. I had heard their song Metal Health on the radio but did not know that Quiet Riot was opening. When I walked in and down in the floor, I was blown away by all the Marshall stacks and massive black Pearl drum kit with the array of Paiste cymbals and 2 gongs hanging behind with the machine tympani on the left! Needless to say, they were great- loud, raw and precise! I was an instant fan of him going forward. He played like John Bonham with his own approach thrown in. A true master of what he did. And he always looked like a happy kid on music steroids when he played! I am an 18 year survivor of cancer so I tried to follow his journey as much as I could. Frankie, The Lord needed a thunder drummer up in heaven and He chose you! One last thing: Glen and Rudy made me cry like a baby.
......a man who just wanted to keep ROCK ALIVE....he kept Quite Riot rocking hard beyond its time...i been drumming 35 years now...he inspired us all & not just in music......ROCK ON FRANKIE🤘
No matter if you like being in pictures or not, they are so important. These great photos tell life's stories, and are a legacy of great memories for those left behind.....RIP Frankie, thank you for those great memories, and may your loved ones be strong and most importantly proud....
This was very hard to watch...I was 13 years old when I discovered quiet riot...my birthday is August 20th and I turned 50 years old...when I found out that he had passed it was a hard day for me...God bless you and your family frankie...say hi to my mom for me
I've had the pleasure of meeting Frankie & the guys a couple of times in my life & have to say that THIS info last year HURT!!! Frankie thank you for being the kindhearted guy you were when we met & Thank You for being an inspiration for me to start to learn the Drums!!! Quiet Riot was the First band I learned to play Bass on so I would have to say Quiet Riot was a HUGE influence on my Musical life!!! Thank you Regina for posting this Beautiful Memorial & may Frankie FOREVER Watch over You and ALL of Frankie's Fans!!!
This is a beautiful memorial. Frankie was a true musician and fan of music. When the documentary came out, I made contact with Frankie and he responded and it was an honor to have had that correspondence with him. What a smile he gave to me with his words! I will never forget Frankie Banali.....
What a beautiful, true, and honest man Frankie must have been. It was very moving to learn about the man Frankie sure was, as seen through the eyes of his wife, daughter, and brotherhood friend Rudy..the true emotion and reminiscing memories you all bravely conveyed ..true class. I cudnt help to feel many parallels here as my father passed last year..limited people were allowed to attend, and the eulogy I had to give..probably the most difficult thing I hv ever had to do. While I never met Frankie, I first learned of him from a “Tribute to John Bonham” concert I attended in Oct 1992 in Long Island..my main interest was to see Tommy Aldridge, but yet when Mr Frankie was up, thunder came from his misleadingly small kit..he was great and no sooner I went out and got his “Heavy Bones” CD..awesome disc and project! I’m glad I saw him live at that event! Condolences to all of his friends and his family, Ashley and Regina.
I will never forget being at the recording of their Metal Health video at Cal Arts after their 2 shows at the Roxy the night before. Somehow during the breaks I got Frankie's attention and my bro and I ended up downing a bottle of 10 High with him during the rest of the filming. It was a crazy time. Rock In Peace Frankie 🥃
We all go away in the end, life is fleeting, God sees our lives as a "Vapor" of steam that rises and quickly disappears. There is hope and life beyond the grave, I truly believe this you may disagree with me, that's your right, however by me believing in God and His only Son,Jesus, I have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son and that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16 Do you believe? I do and I hope you do as well my friends, as I stated you have nothing to lose by believing and everything to gain! Rudy Sarzo is a believer he has put his faith in God! Will you?
