Growing up in the '60s, I would not have predicted that Frankie Valli, of all people, with his high falsetto, would be one of the singers of our generation who would still be able to hit those notes 50-60 years later. But just listen to this. Amazing. What a national treasure he is!
Holy shit yeah! Seeing this for the 1st time, amazing. They were a huge part of the soundtrack of our lives. Frankie is killing it here, I can't believe how good he sounds.
@@dcents5458 He isn’t lip syncing, the other singers even stop when he sings high to prove it. Please remove yourself from the internet, you are not qualified.
@@Thadedeus please go get your head examined then sir. That is 90% lip-synch. He gave up live actual singing 30 years ago. My uncle has been on his rowdy crew for two decades and not only do they run one backing track, they run a redundant one just to make damn sure nothing messes up while he was lip-synching. Take a look at Ashley Simpson on Saturday night live where she got totally busted lip syncing
I am a Brotha who produced hip hop for years from Chicago and if you don't feel Frankie You must be forever sleeping below a tombstone ! And this video brought a tear to my eye this man is amazing in every sense of the word!
@0:23 Frankie steals the show 😍. I watched Jersey boys twice now and I love it. Love the music and love you're voice. I wasn't born in you're era but I wish I was. Music was so fun back then and seems more real than what today's music is. Love the fact that you can hold a note and not get breathless.
For anyone who thinks that he is lip syncing this, I had a distinct pleasure of meeting Mr. Valli after a show a few years ago. I told how much I loved his music and singing and mentioned how a lot of people are doubting his vocal talents at his age. He happily sang a few bars of Cherry Baby right then and there. He hasn't lost a thing. It's his voice and his talent. No fakery there.
It’s pretty obvious he is NOT lip syncing here. It sounds nothing like the record. Secondly, the backup singers stop when he sings his falsetto. It’s Frankie and only Frankie.
Of this video, Frankie Valli's voice still gets it no matter what. His voice still sings like an Angel. I just love his performance, and he will keep on going I'm no matter what. You go Frankie. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
For those of you claiming he is lip syncing, go to 2:18, and listen for the delay. He starts singing late. It's absolutely real. Amazing how good he sounds for his age!
Theres mics that pick up noise detection and it plays whatever song it is. Vitas does that when he sings Opera #2, but people have figured out he just sings it an octave lower and the music plays behind each time he makes noise into the microphone. Frankie Vali sounds 100% identical each time he performs this, I know it's the same person doing the same song, but there should be some alterations each time, but there's not. Im not even dissing him, he has nothing left to prove, we all know he's a legend and will always be a legend, but he is clearly lip syncing.
@@MichaelAnthonyPresents It might not be lip-synching... I suspect some heavy handed live auto-tune though. I bet he is singing, but the pitches are already programmed into the track. As an audio engineer, that really what I think it is.
Incredible. The man Frankie still has the pipes or chops. Yo ! Frankie.... You .... You gotta gift my friend ... hey ..... yes you do. Marone. Thank you for your voice and great tunes . I'm still enjoying them . Buon Natale.
@@James.ceta14 Hes 100% lip synching. Watch the clip of him singing this last month. He looks like he can barely move but his voice still sounds like it did 60 years ago? Zero chance. Just look at McCartney. He doesn't sound anything like he did in the 60s (or even the 80s for that matter) and he's 8 years younger than Frankie. Even the greatest vocalist on the planet is going to sound much different at 87 than they did at 25. Father Time is undefeated.
I met Frankie Valli around 19 and he sang a bit of this song in front of me, no music. It didn’t seem real how effortlessly he sings that high. Especially compared to his speaking voice and his age.
i don’t get why people think Frankie’s lip syncing this really proves he’s got such talent that people are arguing in the comments about how it seems he’s lip syncing guys, just let it go so what he’s in his 80s and can still sing better falsettos than you can? let it be and realise that he’s such a good singer and that he’s still got the voice he’s had in the good ol 60s.
In about 1960 this was my introduction to pop, then the Beatles arrived and I was a fan, but no disrespect to them I’m pleased I have returned to love the seasons
Man, that dude could sing. Remember this as a kid and we sung this until our throats were sore. Many of us lost our voices trying to sing this and we went to Catholic schools, had the nuns that made us sing that Latin "Kyrie eleisun" stuff everyday. LOL
I thought this too, without the tuning and effects he wouldn’t sound anything like this. Still, I can’t sing and I’m half his age, so I can’t say anything 😂
I saw him I think it was last year(2019 or maybe it was 2017 cuz I recognize all these guys) in Costa Mesa, Ca at the center of the arts. He definitely is not faking it. Also my friend works in audio and does audio for big name artists on tour.
