Hey! Little explanation about the lore here. So, our pig buddy Zhu Bajie originally was one of Celestial Court's commander, his original name is Tian Feng. He fell in love with The Moon Goddess, but without he noticed, one of the Goddess' 'assistant', Chang'e, fell in love with Tian Feng. One day, Tian Feng caught The Moon Goddess have an affair with The Jade Emperor, because of that, The Emperor sent him to the earth and sentenced him with a THOUSAND of tragedies of love, yes, a thousand. Also change his body to a half-pig/pork just to make him way more suffer. Chang'e, knowing that her love was thrown out from Heaven to earth, she asked the Emperor to sent her too. But unfortunately, she thought Tian Feng was sent down to earth with the form of spider, not pig (pig and spider have same pronunciation in Chinese words). Soon, Chang'e and Zhu Bajie was met again in the earth, and able to confess their feelings to each other (as shown in the ending animation of chapter 4), but Bajie can't marry her, because he know, she just gonna be one of THOUSAND love tragedies. So he decided to leave her, then joined Tang Sanzang's party where he met Wukong for the first time. If translated, one of the line at the end part of the song that played in the ending animation was like this : Male sing : "In the next life, please say 'No'." Female sing : "In the next life, I won't say 'No'." Because Bajie didn't wanted to hurt Chang'e with his curse, but Chang'e didn't care at all, she just wanted to be with him. Also, Bajie's rake and Spider's strings are resembling the traditional Chinese household life. Which is the husband will work at the field while the wife will weaving clothes on their house. (Also pardon me for my bad english, it's my 2nd language)
One cool thing about the Duskveil that I haven't seen talked about is the sword it uses. It's known that the Duskveil killed the Scorpionlord's wife, which is why he helps you fight it if you don't kill him, and that makes me think that the sword is actually the wife's spine. It would make sense, especially since it seems to pull the sword out of its stomach and the sword itself resembles a spine and has a stinger on the end.
I think it's the wife's tail/dead stinger, for scorpion, the female is the supreme, and she had a few different men who trained with her, and this scorpion was the strongest, but sadly he had 4 sons with her and no girls
The spider lady who's been helping us is the 4th sister, there're lots of indications in the game(traditional Chinese way though) suggests that she might have engaged with one of the reincarnation of the Destined Ones (yes, we ain't the first Destined One who's come here), which is why she's been helping us. And the Celestial Court is using the Tao Talisman(the purple papers we've been peeling off)sealing all these Spider Yaoguais here in the hollow, and use this place as a breeding farm and bio-experimental center to cultivate elixirs for the gods in heaven to consume in order to maintain their immortality. Basically, they use the bug eggs to transform mortals and even deities into yaoguais and yaoguais can be turned to elixirs by alchemy method(yes, gods are eating yaoguais). And the 4th sister has shown us this secret(pointing to us that there're treasures inside while we were in the hollow, remembering behind all the chests, there is a mother bug boss, it was her eggs to be used by the gods), that's why the birdman(Crane-Head guy, he is a messenger of the gods, kinda like Gabriel) calling us disturbing the heaven's business, and he's taken the 4th sister (Destined One's betrothal) to the heaven and telling us he's planning to turn her into an elixirs and if we would ascend to the heaven one day, don't forget to grab it. And yes, Mati just laughed about this while he's playing as the Destined One himself.... :p
I am at the exact same stage of Wukong as you are Mati, and whenever I made a breakthrough I'd come to watch you going through the journey just for the fun.
Man chapter four had some of the craziest yet coolest bosses in the game! I really loved the duskveil and scorpion-lord. The final boss was the hardest for me definitely, although yellow loong came pretty close, also 51k!!!!
It's awesome to see you switching stances more dude! This game really clicks when you learn when and how to use all the stances imho With Tony the Tiger, I like to block everything until the meter is full, then pop windwalker and just go ham until the transformation ends With the Loong Boi, you build focus points by getting a see through with a heavy attack. If you can get all 3, you can delete about half a boss's health bar
Wukong episodes pumping left & right!🔥 Scorpionlord fight looked mad cool! I stumbled into the Duskveil fight first and the Scorpionlord actually join in mi-fight against the Duskveil and it was immediately cinema for me. But I did miss the Scorpionlord fight in exchange for a hint of lore around these 2 bosses.
49:43 The reason why The Duskveil has missing health is because it had to hatch early to join the fight, so it didn't get a chance to fully develop. Plus, there's a cool event here: if you haven't taken out the Scorpion Lord before, he'll actually help you fight The Duskveil (only in the first phase) since The Duskveil killed his wife. BTW Can't wait for the next video!
There is the Spider Mother Tombstone , you can visit it .... Bajie used 1 of the Lotus seed from the Relic to make an Orb to preserve her body. 1:31:46 vs when Hundred eyes died.
I don't know if you realized yet, but the Yin Tiger Transformation has a block/deflect which builds up a lot of focus and negates basically any damage done to him, with the focus fully built up, you can use Whirlwind Slash and go absolutely ham on enemies!
Nice video as usual bro! The worm transformation is actually pretty strong, I'm not sure whether you noticed but it left a lot of poison on the ground for a really long time, so the enemy will be poisoned repeatedly. It will be even more powerful if you use a poison build
I only used cloud step defensively, when you use cloud step you leave behind a decoy that can distract almost any boss, and you can use that time to heal and use pellets calmly.
A bit of speculative lore about the 4th Sister aka the Spider-Sister that tried to get rid of the purple talismans and helped you during the chapter, as this might be important for the upcoming DLC: (SLIGHT SPOILER WARNING, maybe, I'm not sure :D) During Journey to the West Wukong met a woman that helped him out a couple of times. These two had feelings for each other but never shared them with each other. In later adaptations of their story this woman was depicted as his wife. She got cast out of heaven because of an item she stole in order to help free the trapped Wukong. Wukong also got forced to kill her later down the line by the Heavenly Court and was told to forget her. In Black Myth Wukong we can assume that The Destined One (TDO) represents Wukong and the 4th Sister is representing Wukongs Wife. She is helping TDO throughout his stay in the Webbed Hollow and even rescues him from the horde of spiders after fighting the Mother. Further we could assume that we are a reincarnation of Wukong and also not the first one at that. It's possible that another earlier reincarnation came through the Webbed Hollow and married the 4th Sister since she is so welcoming towards us. There are some hints in the game that solidify this theory. For example in China usually married woman have their hair up in a certain hairstyle and unmarried woman have their hair loose and down like the other sisters. Only the Mother and the 4th Sister have their hair up. Also in old China the woman gave the soon to be Husband wedding gifts and the 4th Sister is guiding you into that one room with treasure in it. There are also the two lanterns in front that say "Big Day". If I remember correctly some of the treasure you get is symbolism for husband and wife / marriage as well. Finally, once you make your way to the 4th purple talisman location before the final boss, you can hear the 4th sister scream "Leave quickly", trying to warn you about the Supreme Inspector. Once destroy all four purple talismans which were set up by the Heavenly Court in order to contain the 4th-Sister and get bested by the Supreme Inspector the Birdguy tells you that you should stop meddling with the Heavenly Court's Matters in every reincarnation. He abducts the 4th-Sister and turns her into a golden pill and takes her back to the Heavenly Court. So TLDR: The 4th-Sister is The Destined Ones Wife and is being held captive by the Heavenly Court as of now because of our actions of ripping off the four purple talismans. In the DLC we might be able to fight our way into the Heavenly Court and rescue her.
The same as the Stone Vanguard and Shigandang in chapter 2, if you don`t kill the Scorpionlord, or don`t find him first, he fights the Duskveil at the start, which is why you start with a smaller health bar. Watching them fight each other is great, but costs you the scorpionlord drops.
@@matiasgago I was vomiting as soon as I put anything down my mouth hole for a week straight, but here I am, still weak but able to eat food now. Yippi
@@matiasgago Cuba Libre - simple and flavorful! It’s already 1 a.m. here, so it’s the perfect drink for my last hour and a half of relaxation with the video before bed🤩
Man, the final boss on this chapter and the scorpion lord were real troublesome for me. Looking forward to seeing how you did. Thanks for the Friday viewing Mati 😊
Bro, the armourworm does a significant amount of AOE poison damage for a really long time. Actually pretty good if you're going for a 4 banes damage build. Also, yin tiger's parry builds up the windwalker spell fast AF. you can also just use him when you have full focus so you start with the spell
if you use the armourworm and yellow loong you can apply poison with the worm (damage over time) and lightning with the loong (increased damage) for some comical damage
The tiger's transformation is easily the best in the game if you use the special ability edit: I'm really hoping to see you play stellar blade, and if you like that play the game that inspired it, nier automata, cuz i think that's the greatest game ever made.
1:19:31 you said that the needle bringing you back to the garden arena was cheap, when the second phase of Daoist Master LITERALLY takes away half your stamina bar 😂 if anything, that boss mechanic was cheap!
Every chapter I say I love it but I also say I cant wait for the next, everything about this game man.. I love it. Emotional ending not ashamed to admit it got some tears out of me
I noticed that you come out of Cloud Step straight away - something that I did early on as well. Did you know that you can stay invisible while you build up your focus points, then use a charged attack as your Unveiling Strike? It does a LOT of damage
you made it through chapter 3 alive. Give the tiger transformation some time cuz it's good once you get a hang of it. As always, I had fun watching your video.
In a simple view, this chapter is about love, family, vengeance, and “Yaoguai-experiments” by the higher power. And the Yaoguais-experiments are turning others into Yaoguais or turning Yaoguais into think-less monsters etc
If you aim to collect all of the curios, remember to come back to find the mother's tomb, it's near the big tree where you entered the secret area, pigzy left something for her 😢
If you play Yin Tiger the right way, he could easily cut down at least half hp of the bosses(full hp in game+); and you didn't play Yellow Loong the right way either(he could destroy bosses)... :p
yellow loong should use seeing through to get the dot(the three round at the bottom right corner of the screen ), then press the heavy attack key to release the ultimate skill.seeing through is when the enemy attacks u, press the heavy attack key(but u should have at least one light attack before) so u can be immune the damage
Non Able might be a really good spirit attack for you. It has a low cost that you can use frequently in fights and is meant to be used in light attack combos with unique variations depending on when you initiate during the combo. It does greatly reduce your mana though. Falcon Hermit is another one that I like just for how easy it is to use. It sends out a little ice tornado that tracks and can freeze enemies.
Mati sense you usually have 2 series the neither should be darksiders I’ve been begging for you to play it there’s 4 games and the first 3 are like the original god of war gameplay and Elden ring like vibe I think you would really enjoy this series
Also, Bajie couldn't acknowledge his "family" since he needed to protect them from the celestial court. The same guys as weird hand head dude basically. If he acknowledged them, their current suffering would seem light in comparison.
this is an early comment in case you didn't figure this out already. the transformation you got from the blacksmith can also block. and that builds up focus for his heavy attack too. and quite quickly too. so that's usually a better option to get his heavy ready
When BMW DLC drops someday in the future, Mati pls continue this series and go fight to the court to rescue the forth sister (the purple one who saved you twice)
