2024 Fred Whitton Challenge, what a day!
A bucket list ride I put my name forward for in December 2023 after drunken talks with Vicky lol..... One of the best decisions I've made. EX Forces 2LI & 3 Rifles trying to stay fit at 45yrs.
Got a coast to coast for a charity coming up next month more details to come.

Well done mate! Great video. It was really rewarding day out… but brutal. I was the guy in front of you (in blue) on Hard Knott Pass that you went past. I do remember seeing you again.

Thanks mate, yeah soon as december comes put your name forward then in put the miles in over winter, I didn't try to break any records just wanted to enjoy it and I did its an awsome ride

Nice video,well done,I believe that the Fred whitton sportive is the hardest! I know what you mean about all that sweet energy stuff,gels,bars the drink,it's hard to take after riding for so long, one ride I did ,I eat a cheese and pickle sandwich an hour before the ride,and I felt a lot better for it ! Excellent ride👍

Great effort! It's a tough one, isn't it. I've done the Fred 5 times, 2015, 16, 17, 18, & 22. Marshalled in 2019 & 21. I'd love to do it again, but medical issues may mean otherwise. We'll see.

Cheers mate it is a tough one lol, but I did really enjoy it. Definitely want to do it again next year, setting off a bit earlier so my sister can get through the full route after missing the timing cut off this year.

Lesson learned - get parked up by 5.30am for a 6am set off and give yourself plenty of time for that first cutoff! I’ll try again!
