I felt the same way watching this video. All the beautiful things he lovingly bought and probably so proud to display will now be scattered to the four winds of the world

I cried when I saw that this was happening knowing how private he kept his personal life ☹️ It felt really weird to think that basically his entire home and private life were being put on display for the world to see. As far as a museum, the Sotheby’s guy said that Freddie apparently “didn’t want a stuffy museum.” 😕 I definitely wish that all of his costumes and stuff were being donated to museums, as well as the lyrics and Queen related stuff. And at first I was really sad to think that Mary would do something like this, but maybe Freddie told her that he would want her to do this. We’ll never really know, I guess. But if she wasn’t the one to do it, when she passes someday it would then be left for someone else to do, possibly someone that did not care for him as much as she did. So, I feel like knowing what we know, especially the fact that she’s the only one that knows where his ashes were scattered as per his wishes, Freddie would likely prefer for Mary to do it. And I highly doubt it was a money thing considering he left his Queen royalties to her. Those thoughts are at least what is making me feel a little less sad about it.

Freddie did not want his things in a museum! And he never wanted Garden Lodge to become a museum! Seeing all his beautiful items just makes me wish he was still alive! Love him!!

Почему всё то что связано с музыкой она не передала его семье на хранение как то пианино, рукописи, золотые пластинки, корону, мантию и концертные костюмы. @@lucilleconsenza8239 Of course she had housekeepers, and contractors and gardeners, etc. Garden Lodge is huge and Freddie had tons of stuff. Mary was in charge of running Garden Lodge and overseeing staff even when Freddie was still living. She did make sure that things were kept safe and that everything was attended to. She didn't always live there alone, for a time her kids lived with her and maybe even her husband, I am not sure on when she divorced him but Mary was pregnant with her second child when Freddie died. Mary hasn't lived in Garden Lodge for quite some time, she has her own, smaller home around the corner from Garden Lodge, but she was and still is the caretaker of the property until it is finally sold, if it has not already been sold. Mary owns/owned Garden Lodge and she could have emptied the place at any time and sold it all, but she held onto it as long as she felt up to it. Like everyone else, Mary deserves to retire and live free for a time before passing on. Freddie didn't ever tell Mary that she needed to hold on to Garden Lodge, there was no such agreement, he left it to her because he wanted her to be taken care of for the rest of her life, just like all the rest he left to her. Mary was Freddie's only true friend, the one person he felt he could trust and count on always. It was Freddie's home and Freddie's money and he wanted Mary to have it all. I am surprised that she kept it as a shrine to Freddie for so many years, keeping it just as he had left it. I would have let go of it long before as it held too many sad memories of Freddie's final months.

I agree with the Mary and the trust he had of her. She hasn't failed him to this day and she never will. I agree she's doing what she feels right while she still has some control. I trust and respect her unwaveringly, she knew him best.

Yes, it would have been awesome for the members of Queen to have been given some of those items, and I have no idea why that couldn’t happen, but it was Mary’s decision. For all we know, Freddie could have said that this was his wish. We’ll never know unless it is disclosed. I believe she did what she thought he would want her to do. She kept his things for this long and then set out to have an exhibition made for his fans to see before the items were separated. She didn’t have to do that. And it’s not like the exhibit was some kind of exploitation with a fee to get in. It was free to the public. I will forever stand by my point that this was better than his loved ones dying off and other people being left to make the decision of what to do with his stuff. This was special.

I agree with you, Freddie and Mary for sure discussed everything, all aspects, they had several years knowing Freddie was dying which is or was better than Freddie dropping dead of a Heart Attack. Freddie left everything to Mary and simply think for a second or people think what was going on in Mary’s head for 30 years being inside the house with memories. So I’m sure many Charities will receive funding as Freddie would have discussed with Mary. I’m like others upset to see the Extremely PRIVATE possessions of Freddie’s being placed on display like a SUNDAY FLEA MARKET YARD SALE…

Freddie himself did not want his home or his things in a museum.He wanted the house lived in and to have life in it Mary is getting on in years now and wants to do this while she is able to have some control. I'm saddened by it as well, but I understand.

I don't think Freddy would have thought she would have done what she did in one of his interviews he said he's like a hoarder he would have loved to take all this stuff with him so what does that mean don't get rid of it

We’ve been in the UK on vacation since June. We started in London and will end up there next week before we head back to 🇺🇸. When planning our trip we had no clue this was taking place. We found about it at our London hotel. I feel so fortunate we get to see it but am sad Freddie’s home couldn’t have been made into a museum with his belongings in place. Mary is selling it all. It’s estimated the proceeds will be £6M. I’d say it will be at least 10 x that since the opening bids are conservative. Brian and Roger would have bought it outright and turned it into a museum. Freddie left Mary more than his own family and this is how she repays him. I find it disappointing!

As a 🇺🇸, I’m so thankful I’ll get to see this exhibit but think of the millions who fans who won’t. Yes Mary has been loyal to Freddie and his legacy but consider she went from working in a flea market to working for the band. Freddie bought her a home. He treated her like royalty the whole time he was alive and then left her half his estate as well as 50% of his future earnings. She made $60M off of the 2018 movie alone. Every time Queen tours she gets paid and post Bohrap, they’ve exploded on the global stage. Think about all the music that’s been downloaded during their resurgence. We saw them with Adam in 2017 on a limited date tour through the states and the concert was sold out. Freddie changed her life for ever. She also turned his friends out of his home immediately after his death and alienated his grieving band mates. Freddie was all about the fans and I think knowing Mary’s wealth had grown to what it has he would want her to share his legacy with his fans. She could turn the home into a museum right now, hire someone to run it and it wouldn’t cost her a dime. She’d probably make millions if you consider how much Elvis’s estate made after his death. Freddie trusted Mary with his legacy and unless she’s blown all the money she’s made to this point I can’t imagine how, $6M would even show up in her bank account.

А, этот человек живёт в каждом сердце, кто любит его, а это дороже всех вещей. Фредди нас сделал счастливыми через свою музыку. Музыкальное наследие - это самое важное и главное, что осталось от этого человека.

Должен быть музей. А беречь никому не нужно. Музеи и памятники архитектуры охраняются государством. Фредди👑 в доме не хотел музея, Остин могла открыть его в другом месте. На его же деньги. А он оставил ей немало. Цинично по отношению к фанатам.

@@IrinaLazareva8207 В музее - студии в Швейцарии , очень мало его личных вещей и несколько сценических костюмов. Фредди 👑 любил свои вещи и собирал всё с огромной любовью. Картины, антиквариат, предметы японского искусства и т. д. Он говорил в интервью Дэвиду Уиггу, что хотел бы быть похоронен, вместе со своими вещами, как фараон. Печально, что в качестве покупателей, не было участников группы. Могли бы выкупить, что касалось музыки - рояль, рукописи, знаковые костюмы.
