My guess would be because that's unsafe. There needs to be a certain amount of room around it for fire hazard reasons and likely that would cur off a lot of usable space in an already small/cramped area.

yup i mean i totally understand needing to make your space. As someone who had moved into my current place, i had to get stuff. But i did not spend this load of time and that much of money getting the space ready. Does not seem feasible to an average person.

When I first started watching Ladylike few years back, it was all about learning to do something and trying new things by ladies. That was a cool and fresh thing back then and that's why I liked and subscribed. But last couple of years the format changed, I don't watch most of the videos now, as I don't find them interesting basing on titles. So when this move series came, I though - cool, Freddie would move with help of Ladies, there will be some fun, bonding, learning, etc. And I am not speaking about putting up new walls or refurbishing bathroom, but packing, unpacking, organizing, painting walls, assembling furniture, changing lamps, hanging tv - all of this can actually be done quite easily by few people who are not professionals. That would have been so great, if all this was done by themselves instead of hired people. And I think then even donated/gifted pieces wouldn't have been such an issue. Honestly, I don't even understand the freaking out part, as almost everything was done by someone, who was hired to do that and you spend zero dollars on that..

I used to love the old vids where they learned new things like bar tending, doing hair, running a food truck, together. I also don’t see them all together anymore

I agree 100 %! And in my opinion the apartment ended up looking like a magazine cover, I don't find it cozy at all. These videos were just ads for all these different companies and services. I would've unsubscribed but just realized I wasn't even subscribed, youtube just keeps proposing these to me.

Interior design does not equal interior decorating! Please understand the differences. This is decorating/staging. Also, this is completely unrealistic for most people, since everything was donated to her, when this would have been well over $4k in just furniture/rugs, not to mention decorations, appliances, design services...all for a rental!

The only other people I can think of who have finessed at that level or bigger are the Worth Team who get to travel around and try things out, and then the one girl who did a series revolving around her wedding and planning for it. I never saw people complaining about them. Freddie shouldn't be any different. Go watch the DIY home decor videos Buzzfeed has done if you want tips on how to do your home on the cheap. Have friends help you move and get organized and pay them in pizza. I know the REAL reason why people are complaining, though.

Look I LOVE Ladylike, I actually live for these girls, but I just have to say I'm like that _girl trying kombucha_ about this video because Idk... It IS a nice video to watch, well done work, the house is so cool, but I'm here just thinking HOW in the heaven this process could still be "uff sooo stressful I will never do that again" if you had an entire team working with you and some forniture items were so expensive, but costed just a portion for you. All of the bigger concerns out of the game. I'd be soooo relieved. At the same time, something about Freddie in this entire video seems not that OK, maybe something else happened and we will never know. I don't know, guys. At least she thanked everyone... I don't even know why I am thinking in how I would act in this situation... this will never happen to me lmao actually my reality is that I still live with my parents and I don't even know when, where and how I will be moving out lol

nathalhices as someone who has moved 7 times in 1 year (it was a rough, unstable year- im good now) moving is really fucking stressful, even if u have an “entire team” because you want things a certain way. maybe thats just me, but I can’t just let people put things in places that looks good to them. I want to be in charge of it all. I want the final say. I want to know whats going on when & where its all going. moving is stressful. no matter how much help you get. its even more stressful when you have to go to work during this process so you’re constantly stopping what you’re doing to go to work then coming home to be too tired to finish it.

Part of why I love my home is that it feels like mine. Most of it I've earned and selected myself. I connect with each thing on a personal level. I still get excited when I look at my $80 ottoman that I watched like a hawk until it was on clearance for $20. Or my shelf of knickknacks from my children. The apt is cute, but kind of sad.

As lovely as all of this looks, there are some spaces in there that seem really impractically set up... Like how are you supposed to actually get into that guest bed with the ladder leading up to the tall foot railing? And you wouldn't actually have any back support eating if you're on the couch because you have to lean forward to actually reach the table. Again, it turned out looking beautiful, but it seems like more thought was put into what'd look cool than into what would actually be workable.

Love it!! The only eyesore is the water heater in the kitchen. I noticed it was not shown/cut during the final reveal at the end of the video but it was still there. Maybe you can purchase some screen panels or a divider & place it in front of it to try & hide it. Good job overall!!

You know, I get it. A lot of these comments are about how would Freddie have afforded everything if it wasn't gifted but she is not the first to have items gifted or companies reach out for a video. I am just really happy for her success and stylish new space. If makeovers can cost less out of pocket than why not! She never said this was a tutorial series for a makeover on a budget. It would be silly to ignore her resources and pay everything herself when she has connections. Agreed. As someone struggling to save money to buy their first house, I can't tell you how heartbreaking it is to watch someone else get gifted everything they'd ever want in a home. Even with the extra hours I've picked up at work - it'll be months before I can buy a crappy starter home, let alone have the spending money to buy cute couches or wallpaper. It would take me years to get even a few of the objects she was gifted. While I'm happy for her, its hard to watch her sip champagne and say she'll never move again.

Recently moved myself, and assembling our furniture alone took a few days. Fred was fortunate to have others do it for her. Just feels like calling this “stress free” is a bit tone deaf when so much of the stress of moving *IS* the cost and work that you do by yourself.

I do absolutely love the design here, and I’ve enjoyed the series. I also would absolutely grab all the freebies I could if they were offered. At the same time, I’d love to see something like this done a. Either without all the freebies (kind of a...improve your house for free/ cheap tips and tricks series) OR b. This was an awesome way to show how we could all spice up our apartments we don’t own. Whether or not anything was gifted, this video and many others like it are a reference for us. Yes, I'd rather have a side table. If she doesn't do (semi) formal diners it could be set up as a bar or maybe have a wine rack/cooler underneath.

i hate it. i would've put in a bench instead. i get it that she's obsessed with having back support but c'mon how often was she going to actually sit there? she can opt to sit on the chairs instead. two couches in that small apt is way too much.

I love the apartment and how Freddie made it her own. I know she had to spend some pretty coin to get her dream apartment. However, I felt like this video was a lot of gifts and sponsorships. I am glad she has the connect, but it was stressfree because she got the presents and could get the outside sources.

I think you should have just had a normal bed in the "guest room" & you could have hung 1 or 2 small shelves like your vanity on the wall. & a bed with drawers on one side would make more sense. Most adults don't want to sleep in bunk beds. I think it could have looked nicer.
