They have been together 22 years, married 18 years, have 4 children, and are just as much in love, as they were when they married. He still holds her hand in public, hugs her, and occasionally kisses her in public. Denmark your people are so lucky to have them.
Wow what an honorable speech, so handsome, true, natural and lovely, hes so sweet, so respected, natural, fluent, so confidentful, we love danish royal family❤️❤️❤️
I have watched the film Mary, the making of a Princess over and over. I just can't get enough of it. I then watch the true couple over and over. it really does my heart good to see this wonderful story. Oh thank you for sharing it with us.
+230608grace have a look on You Tube too. as sometimes they have whole films on there. I was lucky last week, when I lost half the film I was watching.. I found it on you tube, so I managed to see the end.. brilliant..
All true love must start with friendship. Frederick found this in Mary. Easy to understand as he was always trying to find himself and did that with a person who herself did that after losing her mother. The pair are bright and kind and will together make life better for everyone around them.
No , they should take over in Australia and New Zealand. Why should Australia have Prince Charles, the Adulterer and Diana murderer foisted upon them when Mary is Australian and Danish and Frederik is Danish and Australian.
Ok, I know this is random, but on Prince Frederik's left shoulder of his uniform, there's one gold Fringe that's a little longer than the others. I want to go back in time with a pair of scissors and trim it lol.
OMG. I watched with CC to translate his Danish into English and started laughing my head off at the hilariously bad translation. It had to be some computer but DAMN it, beyond funny.
Unfortunately not many of us speak Danish, Norwegian, Dutch or Swedish. I do speak French but no lovely Ceremonies in France only military!. This is to say how nice if there were official translations. Many English speaking countries follow these splendid events. The only one was Madeline of Sweden to Christopher O' Neil. Most of the gorgeous ceremony was in English, as his Swedish was insufficient. Mary is so very beautiful, serene, and gracious. The exquisite dress on her divine silhouette her flowers. And Fred leaves us with emotion as we observe his profound love for his Bride. The UK weddings in Westminster are very somber affairs in comparison the religious ceremony is pompous longwinded with sad worded text. Hate them ;they are spoken with a somber tone suited for funerals. Catherine looked terrified and William sped through fast as he could . Then they leave to sign in another place!!! He should have been wearing his regiment uniform Navy; instead of the Irish guards flamboyant red which does not suit him as he blushes! .The Queen insisted.
Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, my Dear New Family. Dear John, What a privilege, what a thrill, what an extraordinary feeling of happiness you have created in me. One might say that Mary also belongs to you - but as of today: she belongs to me - and I belong to her. But there is much more to that sentence than just words. It signifies the end of a period of freedom, of trial and error, where accountability was up to me alone. The sentence also has another side which is only just beginning. To me it means responsibility, trust and sharing. By allowing me to take Mary’s hand and lead her onwards in a new life for better and for worse, you have shown me that you trust me to be capable and responsible in that act throughout life - it’s called love. For that I am very grateful to you. I love her and I will protect her with all my heart. I will do my best to make her feel confident and at home in her new country. Dear Mary, In the year 2000 in Sydney, 5 Olympic rings were united for the 25th time. Australia at that time was an unknown and undiscovered continent for me - symbolised aptly by the fifth and lowest Olympic ring. I found myself in an unknown country amongst happy, festive foreigners. My only luggage at that time was my high expectations of my visit, and a certain degree of confidence. Almost 200 years earlier another Dane, called Jørgen Jürgensen, arrived under completely different circumstances, but with just as high hopes and just as much confidence. He left Sydney quite soon after and sailed to Tasmania - your own country - one of the states of Australia. Here he managed to create a reputation for himself which ultimately led to his death. I had only been in Australia two days before our fates were sealed, even though neither of us was aware of it. But your radiance shone clearly for me from our very first meeting. Since then I have been blinded and totally dependent on it. Until that moment in my life, I had been striving to achieve greater independence, without limiting any of my freedom. My opportunities were plentiful, and my world was often lonely. But both were continually strengthened in time and in space because my curiosity and positive faith in the definitive, the ultimate, drove me onwards. Then you walked into my world, and already much has happened. Now, there are two worlds - possibly even more - which from now on we will explore together, side by side. In light and darkness, in summer, autumn, winter and spring - always. The joy and strength you give me is like the sun in the daytime which, with its radiance, melts all doubts and darkness on earth. And like the moon at night, you shine with a watchful and delicate beam of gentleness, which extinguishes the mischief and deceit used by the symbols of darkness. I often like to compare the dawn’s light on a new day with the rebirth of the untouched, the inexperienced, and the innocent. A little naive perhaps - but nevertheless it is wonderful to pretend that everything begins anew. A new world is born again with the light of a new day. This moment is “us” - the two of us - newly together, young together, innocent together, in love together - simply “together”. You give me security, joy and happiness. I am almost bubbling over with curiosity as to what the near and distant future has in store for us - and it is you who must answer. But I will try to control myself, for two questions have already been answered with a simple “Yes” from us both. It is an answer which will hold good for us always. And if we need light in our search for answers, all we need to do is to lift our eyes and look towards heaven. There lies eternity, which can always show us the way back to the path which sometimes we lose. I love you Mary. Come, let us go! Come, let us see! Throughout a thousand worlds, weightless love awaits. Your Majesties, Your Royal Highnesses, May I ask you all to rise, and join me in drinking a toast to my bride.
They did meet by chance because both of them nearly did not go to the Slip evening that evening . It was a gathering of people who knew each other from University , plus a few friends . Mary was supposed to go to a farewell party for a colleague and Frederik had jet lag and wanted to go to bed . Both changed their minds at the last minute , because of some mysterious force urging the to go there to the Slip Inn instead, and the rest is history . Even he said it was a million to one chance that they met. He fell in love almost immediately, but it took her (in her own words ) a few months to fall in love with him. In November 2001, she had to choose either Frederik or keeping her private career and life in Australia. In her TV programme in January , she admitted that she chose him because she loved him . In April this year his mother Queen Margrethe said to a friend, " Those two are still besotted with one another." Perhaps she is a bit jealous of their happiness
