New Orleans mfs in the 90s and early 2000s showed people that they can have a “ceasefire” so that bread can be made. Katrina destroyed that mentality. It turned into “I want it all” instead of how it was in the past, a bunch of major record labels and entertainers understanding that there’s enough money to go around and NOT TO FUCK THE BAG UP. One reason why ppl think its tension is because N.O views every other city in Louisiana as country. Im from New Orleans and lived in BR for 5 years before Katrina and BR isn't country at all. I think BR spent so much time back then trying to gain acceptance of N.O, but N.O doesn't even like N.O. It's a real crab and a barrel mentality there. Thats one reason why BR has surpassed N O in the music scene.
