Free Air Compressor for ChuckE2009

I was making this air compressor setup and decided that instead of trying to sell it on Craigslist and make a few lousy bucks I would rather give it to ChuckE2009. I would get a lot bigger bang for my bucks that way.
*Update on September 27 2018*.
I just got word from Steven Cox that ChuckE is not going to take the air compressor. The reason given was "He just doesn't have room for it right now". Now some may see this as a negative, but I look at it a bit differently. One of the reasons I chose ChuckE2009 out of the thousands of You Tuber's ( besides the number of subscribers and views he gets) was I believed ChuckE has what is called integrity. I think his parents raised him to be honest and responsible. He is a good example of that; instead of just saying "Great, a free compressor" and taking it and shoving it in the corner, he is being honest. He turned down a free compressor because he just can't deal with it now, or he doesn't have the time to deal with it and put it to good use.
I am considering Steven Cox. I believe Steven has that all important thing called integrity, also. He would do what he says he would do. That's important to me. I was born in 1950 and people in that era would shake hands on a deal. They didn't need a battery of lawyers.
I am mulling this over and have a couple of commitments in the early part of October and November to deal with.

My humble opinion not that it matterś in the big picture is that Steven Cox is 1)Honest 2)he has Integrity 3)and good ethics 4) Most Importantly he is a great guy and good father plus he is just opening his new Shop probably on a shoestring budget so please give the Compressor to Steve

Sean you really sound like you’ve spend a lot of time with Steven Cox? I’ve never seen you in his videos, how do you know all that stuff? You do know he’s not opening a new shop? Well it’s for you tube purposes anyway, he clearly states this if you watched the video of how he transitioned to a full time you tuber? Just trying never seen someone put themselves out there for someone they truly don’t know, as you said it’s your opinion about him.

"Like I said, I was getting carried away here" haha, story of my life - got it from my dad. We're here in Rupert Idaho. He moved here from Grand Coulee Washington to work at the Minidoka dam so as you might imagine we geek out on big electricity. Awesome converter! That big joker puts our little shop compressor to shame! Thanks for the video and book! If you decide to go back to selling the setup let me know!

I need to get your book. I have a three phase pump sitting in the barn that I’m wanting to hook up to my irrigation system on my farm but I don’t have 3phase nor can I afford it on my measly farm income but would be a huge help if we have another drought like we had this summer. I have this same air compressor and it puts out a lot of air. I bought doug's book with plans to do a transformer phase converter, but wanted to buy multiple 3 phase equipment. We decided a rotary would be better for what I was planning. Doug was very helpful through his emails and his book was a good read. I am a subscriber to doug and chucke2009, I think this would be a win for both parties.

over the last 3 years i saved bits and parts from 10 compressors and built my own 80-90gallon set up using 3 tanks and a large 5hp motor and pump i rebuilt the pump new rings and seals and honed the cyl walls it runs what i need. but man that is one sweet set up u got there there wish the best to who ever gets it.

That's a great deal and very considerate for that compressor! This setup would be good to use with an older 3 Phase plasma cutter because you can run the plasma at the same time.

AvE would give it a hot super and have his chickadee polish it up nice, Mustie1 would love not having his compressor come on during filming and is also deserving, but he would rather fix it up himself Stephen Cox would just plain luv it all these RU-vids have integrity , and shake hands with pride , they also have channels with crazy fast growth in the last 3 quarters AvE and Mustie1 will give you the most exposure good luck

AvE probably wouldn’t accept it ( even though he is my favourite candidate) as he does not do promotional videos and has said before that he would rather people chip in a couple bucks on patreon for the beer fund rather than sending him things to review for free.

It comes down to: there's no such thing as a free puppy. You've put a lot of work into this, could use referred viewers, and don't want it sold for scrap metal if you give it to someone. My vote would be for Steven, if he agrees, because he'll get you the visibility, can use something that powerful, and I'd like to see you two in a video. He seems to be a good example of the person I'm told "they just don't make anymore". They exist and I've seen dozens go through the ranks of our scout troop. It's great that you're harvesting your shops/sheds, salvaging the value of what you've got and making things easier for whomever inherits your domain. It's something I've been thinking of since I don't think my kiddos will need the 19" server rack cabinets, let alone teletype, pile of organ donor electronics, and such. I'm concerned about what kind of audience I'd get with CraigsListings and eBay shipping is annoying. Also, would you consider placing your book in the public domain (creative commons license?) when you pass or don't make enough to warrant an additional printing? I know you put a lot of work into it and deserve compensation from folks who benefit from it, but there's a point of diminishing returns and it is information that folks will want for restoration projects in decades to come. It'd be nice not to lose it over time.

It is nice to see someone who appreciates a good vacuum! I use to do body work and there was tons of bondo dust. There are two camps; those that have no problem using a broom to sweep up fine dust and those of us that just cringe at sweeping dust. I had a large 14 inch floor tool and would just push it around the floor and bondo dust gone. Same thing with sheet rock dust.

There are a bunch of capacitors that act as start capacitors. They are switched in for a brief moment to start the motor.

For a ten horse like this, maybe around $500. The biggest cost is the transformer which I don't recommend a person buy new. Used ones are around and a lot cheaper then new. Maybe 150 to 200 for a used transformer. Then ebay for used contactors and surpluscenter for capacitors. Big expense can be buying a nice metal cabinet if you have to have that.

I am scheduling to bring it to Steven Cox. Hopefully sometime in November as long as the roads and weather hold up. We have to get south from North Idaho. Not sure how many mountain passes there are from here to there. Looks like we go south all the way through Colorado.

The whole point of the giveaway is exposure for his book that he'd like to sell. Absolutely nothing wrong with this. He needs somebody with big subs and big views that cater to people that would use it in there content. Traversing halfway and back across the country to deliver it isn't cost effective. As a couple have suggested Ave with 900k subs and not that far. Wranglerstar with 1.1m in the pnw would be another.

Check around for a hacker/maker space in the area, see if they have a use for this equipment. I routinely go through my stuff. I feel if I'm not using it, I rather someone else have it that has a use for it. The thing is, if I offer to give someone something, I expect people to grab it within 2 weeks, unless otherwise told it may be time. I've offered to give away servers, and have someone not come around for ovet a year, then really PO'ed that I gave it to someone else. I clicked the link because I was curious about larger Air Compressors. I would like to pick one up for the garage at one point.

I like ChuckEs channel too but lately with him flat out saying he doesn't read comments anymore I take it as disrespectful to those viewers that is supporting him through RU-vid. Allen McKinney I don't think it's so disrespectful as much as covertly telling the garbage writers to stop writing garbage. (tell them you don't read comments and maybe they stop writing garbage). Honestly, if one of my videos garnered 500 comments, I wouldn't bother reading them also. Way too many, then you have to filter out the useless fodder, and not leaving enough time in the day to do real work. Of course on the other hand, if one's only ambition on RU-vid is to make money, why not just disable comments altogether?

I like Ike but those guys are making a killing. And John is annoying as fuck. They get enough free shit IMO. Plus Ike has way more than Chucke does. He has 50 cars. And like 6 shops/storage facilities. A lot of the cars are classics. He’s cool and all but donate it to a trade school or high school. If you’re giving it away for exposure then you are not trying to help anyone but yourself. This RU-vid really fucks people’s heads up. Everyone wants to get rich off RU-vid. Lol. Sad

Frankly after watching chuck work on his things I really hope this does not go to him. I used to have much respect for him and followed him since he was a kid and went to school. Now he has become a little arrogant ass that is screwing up working tractors to get views. He has bragged about refusing to read comments to take help. Please offer it to Steven Cox. The kids could really learn from it...You said in your description you want to give it to chucke due to his subs and views, so you are giving it to him to sell your book right? Welding Junkie - come on man. If you offer a product you want to generate some income from, it is fair to do some advertising. He describes the product and you can buy it or not. Waving with a ad sign at a cross road might not be the best option for every product. And giving away such a machine to promote his book dos not sound like a good deal. Since youtube is nowadays commercialized, he is just taking his chances.

D. Ummy I totally agree with you. Did you read his write up though? He basically picked chucke because of his subs and network. If he wanted to “give it away” why not a vocational school? All I meant with my comment is it’s a totally advertising trick, he says not click bait but isn’t it? Not giving the guy a hard time but come on. He has 1k subs it’s much harder to get word out without mentioning chuck.

HI welding junkie, I did pick ChuckE because of his subs, views, and also the audience being a good fit for wanting to run bigger air compressors using my system. I am older and life is short. Before I go or become mentally disabled I wanted to get my information out. Starting in 2006 I sold a three dvd set with this information on Ebay. If you go to unique3phase on eBay you can see i have 42 pages of feedback. Up until a couple of years ago the dvd set was all I sold on Ebay, and I had over 900 positive feedbacks on those dvds. Now I have the book with the same info. One thing I found was that people who built my system loved it. I had a lot of feedback from three countries, Ireland, England and Australia. They really needed my system because they have such skimpy power. They also had to make their own transformers which I teach in the book. So I figured contacting a popular channel on you tube and giving this compressor away was the best way for me to reach people.

Yes, but still, he did not keep it secret that he wants to sell his book and from my perspective advertising is okay if there are no false promises. Free country, buy or not. He "pays" for the advertising by giving away a great machine. Nevertheless, you are right, why not giving it to a vocational school, but for me its not a tragedy he picked as per his personal preference. Throwing it away is also an option, when somebody needs a compressor, he should buy one, he will do good by saving american jobs that way.

He just bought a big dewalt compressor he has no need for it if I had a new compressor I had no problem with I wouldn't take someone elses if I have no need for it. There is a difference between stuck up and not wanting somebody's junk

I'd give you a thumbs up King but I wouldn't consider the air compressor being offered as 'junk'. It'll still be running when that DeWalt is in the scrap yard (not criticizing DeWalt but the one being offered is an industrial unit).

The OP seems like a pretty smart guy, but his explanation of these features is pretty poor. And I just don't care enough to listen to the whole thing AGAIN to try to figure out the benefits of the second switch. I'm sure they're wonderful, but I may never know what they actually are. Oh well...

No, someone that would rather see that shop compressor be donated to a BOCIES or Tradeschool, or someone that will appreciate it, rather than Stretch McFabricobbler u-tube content provider. And if you notice, he's run 4 of the 5 u-tube clickbait phases once he saw a little money. Those are: Make videos just to get content out. Put XXX doesn't want you to know XXX to get views up. Make a few good content videos to gain subs Branch of into things not related to the channel, but the flavor/Trending Content provider of the week(farming on the tails of One lonely or Whitmer farms.) And he's leaning towards 5...Which is realizing the cash cow is fickle and may cause bankruptcy auctions, so dump a bunch of multipart vids to boost view count. That house payment a month on a tractor has to hurt. Here's a hint. A Single income stream is great, until the stream dries up or has so many fields drawing off of it it slows to a trickle. Then you wither and die.

I have no clue how much Fabricobbler makes off of his videos but I like to watch them. I suspect that he is desperate for the cash since he packs tons of ads in some of his videos. I assume that he's getting paid for those ads.

I don't edit my comments so But this is in my craw at to deserving over value So pay no attention to sub # 's Look at views over sub base and growth Small channels that have cult following , out weigh large channels that a flat or falling crappy tough decision, but a smaller channell will use it a lot , big channel 2 maybe 3 episode with little mention Mustie1 and Cars and Cameras have the best numbers in my analytics, but qualitative is great , but you need to like there style for consideration so watch some episodes on both

Chucke2009 used to make welding videos, now he makes adult goat videos! chucke2009 is a joke of welding community, they roasted his v8 tractor he had on Ebay for $8000 that didnt sell LOL. I watch welding tips and tricks and other real welding fabrication channels.
