Well it's finally complete. Did meps over the weekend headed to basic August 8th sworn in on 27th as a 88m as an E4 along with unexpected 20k bonus through ACASP.

Love the video, thinking of trying to join the national guard next year once I get my college out of the way, only issue is that I had minor asthma when I was younger (under 13), they still prescribe me inhalers although I don't have symptoms anymore and don't even use my inhaler. Hoping I could get a waver if I could prove I no longer have it! (probably a slim chance of getting in but will be worth the shot)

I make a decent amount of money working at the job i do now, but ive always wanted to serve.i dont wanna technically be active duty would going national guard be a good choice? I know you can still be deployed and what not and also im 25

Guard would be a great way to serve part time and live your life full time. Just make sure you can afford your bills with the pay and allowances if you’re eligible for while you’re away in training. BAH has nothing to do with MOS. It’s for being on orders for more than 30 days while in a reserve or national guard (part time) branch and meet the qualifications for BAH. Meaning you have a lease or mortgage in your name and if you have dependents, then you’d get BAH at the dependent rate. I plan on going NYANG under a PJ contract. The training pipeline is about 2 years and I'll be TDY in San Antonio and will PCS out to different locations during the pipeline. I live in NYC. Once basic is over, do I receive BAH at the San Antonio rate or the NYC rate? Thanks!

Hey Swartz! Long story short went to meps August 2022 and they just needed a PFT and all medical so I got everything else done at meps besides swearing in cause I needed the docs. It was with navy and then I switched to army and turned out navy never sent what meps was requesting and my army recruiter actually sent it for real this time In May of this year. And I just got a letter from the Department of Defense this morning but it’s at the mail office, it was processed in yesterday. Going Monday to the mail office when it opens . My army recruiter has been updating me with meps but they had a back log but he texted me that on the 3rd of this month. Could it be regarding military since it’s basically military?

Hey man question? I went to MEPS passed my physical but they saw that I was prescribed anxiety medication last year but I never took the medication because I didn’t need it it was just that I had school and a newborn I was never seen by a psychiatrist or never re filled my medication. So my recruiter and his boss turned in all my prescription records and I wrote a statement on why I had it prescribe. They said it will have to me approve and it can take two weeks I’m nervous how do you think it will played out ?

Which component of the army are you joining and I’m assuming you don’t have an apartment now. I don’t know what your employment capabilities are and income after high school to determine if you can afford to live on your own. hey i get flown out to navy basic training soon in oct 31st , do they do a urinalysis drug test?? i obviously quit for a long time but recently my stupid brother blew marijuana smoke in my face and i dont want it to interfere with my career. i didnt get any effects but i did cough a little bit.

Don’t that would even do anything honestly. It’s all over NYC and I’ve never had a false positive but if you’re really concerned, purchase an over the counter drug test and test yourself. As for the DAT, tax least for the Army is when you get to basic training that you get tested. Not during the inprocessing at the Reception Battalion. So how does housing allowance work during basic and AIT, im trying for 17C for the Army NG so BT + AIT is very lengthy, as married with a child, since both of those times are active duty what does that look like?

US ARMY/RESERVE/GUARD PAY: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GsZQsFiPGrY.html You’ll receive your base pay and BAH at the dependent rate due to being married during your BCT/AIT, which will be split between the 1st and 15th of each month. Once you’re at your first duty station, during the in-processing your unit leadership will share with you the three ways to PCS/Move your family and home goods to your duty station where you’ll be assigned on base housing or continue to receive BAH to live off post. Your command will give you up to 7-10 non-chargeable days off to accomplish this task and you can add any additional leave (vacation days) to your permissive TDY days off for moving your family and goods. Your body fat will be measured and has to be below your maximum allowable body fat. Hey Swartz in my recent visit to the doctor I made the mistake of telling my doctor that I have trouble sleeping and that I have slept walk when I was a child, she wrote it down in my charts about seeing a sleep specialist for sleep walking/rem . Could I get a sleep study to prove that my sleeping is fine and have chance of joining? I was never diagnosed for it, it was just in my chart for request to see sleep doctor. Does meps even look in your charts or just at pharmacy records?

If one has children and pays child support but they do nit qualify as a dependent for Tax return purposes because they live primarily with other parent, do they recieve additional BAH for their dependents?

If the enlisted soldier has child support, that makes the child(ren) dependents. However, you must have a legal lease or mortgage in the enlisted soldiers name to receive BAH as described within the video. No Lease/Mortgage… No BAH. If eligible for BAH and pays child support will get the BAH at the Dependent Rate.

So it doesnt matter if its a 3,4, or 6 year enlistment to recieve the housing benefit? My recruiter said the only way i will get it is if im on active orders like you said but ONLY if i have dependents or apply for the 6 year. Basically if i enlist for 4 years and even if im on active orders i wont receive it because i havent been in that long

If you’re joining for active duty, you missy have dependents or you’ll be placed in barracks like everyone else. And that’s for any contract length. BAH isn’t tied to contracts. It’s if you have dependents. (Active duty example)

Military Housing Allowance? Only when you’re on active duty orders for more than 30 days if otherwise eligible for it based on a lease/mortgage it having dependents. Unless you’re using the Post 9-11 GI Bill post active duty service. Then yes I’m accordance with the percentage of that benefit earned. @@TEAMSWARTZ Yes Sir. I respect the fast reply. I’m Private 3 Alvarez pursuing Education in California and I had MEPS 3 weeks ago. I got promoted to E3 automatically due to my referrals and college transcripts. Currently, after BCT and AIT. I’m planning to move to the LA area and I told my recruiter “I can afford the college with the benefits, but what about apartments?” He basically said that I don’t qualify for BAH since I’m unmarried and don’t have dependents. So I’m stressed on how to survive because dorming into college is the very last option.

@@WeTheGame13 I may have misspoken thinking you were referring to your BCT/AIT/OSUT training. You’re only authorized BAH when on active duty orders for more the 30 days. Being part time while going to college full time isn’t gonna authorize BAH. You can during your training but not while part time. It’s possible seeing how they sucks blood but there’s no way for an individual to find out if they contracted it by a mosquito or not. Furthermore, HIV/AIDS is disqualifying regardless how it was transmitted unfortunately.

So this isn’t related to this video but my recruiter told me I do not need 15 college credits while I have my GED for the 20k+ enlistment bonus and that they prefer to recruit people who hold a GED versus a diploma. Is this true at this time for joining the guard 6 year contract part time?

GED not accompanied with 15+ college credits makes you a Tier II Education and to be a Tier I, you’ll need 15+ College Credits. For National Guard you need to be a Tier I Education to receive incentives like a Bonus, SLRP, etc… Your recruiter is ignorant to the current policy or lying or inexperienced… Good luck!

@@creamcheeseprivilege9961 Tricare No. as for education for the Reserve/Guard, must be used during time in service. From active duty/regular army and have earned portion of all of the Post 9-11 GI Bill Benefit can only be used after you leave active duty.

Does BAH apply if you are living at home and have a lease contract with your parents that is notarized?

If otherwise eligible, it’s always on the training site to approve or disapprove BAH requests. Problem is, if it’s with parents or family, they’ll deny it because 99.999999% of parents don’t charge their kids for rent and if they do it’s usually cash. Only super dooper, extremely slim chance of a possibility of an approval is if you bring several months of proof of rent payment on the form of checks that went through your bank account, bank account transfers to your parents accounts for several months you paid rent, monthly rent payments through Zelle, etc… showing that you in fact are legitimately paying rent. No proof, no possibility for rent to be paid through BAH.
