In my younger days I did a lot of backpacking in WV. Now that I’m considering getting an adventure van, I really appreciate your vids on dispersed camping in WV. However, seeing those trashed fire rings makes me want to take some big trash bags to clean up some of the litter.

Lots of memories there. We used to drive across the bridge instead of turning left. Camped just past the bridge on the right side with our pop up campers. We'd spend a week there during May. Thanks for the video. It brought back lots of memories and good times. After watching this, pretty sure we can get our 32 foot TT there without too much problems.

Love your videos of dispersed camping sites in West Virginia! I’m leaving from PA this Friday to do some pickup truck camping and will be trying a couple of the places you’ve shown on your videos. I wouldn’t have even known about some of them if you hadn’t have been so kind to share! Thanks again!

Thanks for the video. I have watched it about a dozen times before we went there this past week. What a great place . Went mon - friday not many people there. So many great sites. There are even more not mentioned around each bridge crossing the Gandy creek. You missed a few nice ones. One by a bridge with a nice rock formation/bridge type thing and the one we stayed at you kind of peaked at through the tree's in the beginning of the video. This site was truly perfect. Thanks again and we hope to go back some day and tent camp or backpack. We took a pop up this time.

Looking for free or low price camping near Fayetteville, WV that has nice shower/restrooms. Will be van camping for a couple of days. Don't mind staying in a parking lot as long as access to shower/restrooms close by. TY

Thanks Lou! This is great once again. On Google Earth, it looks like this forest road simply peters out with no potential place to turn around, especially with a 25' TT in tow. Would you agree? BTW, I love your style of videos .. . simplistic, to the point and informative. Keep em coming! Hope you enjoying the warmth in Texas or wherever you guys are now!

Check out my Abes Run Road video. The campsite was so sweet, my son and I tent camped from our truck there. Made a second video there which shows additional information on this remote dispersed camping location (Free Tent Camping at Dispersed Campsites in the National Forest). North of West Virginia in both the Forbes State Forest and Michaux State Forest in PA there are lots of remote campsites. I have playlists for both forests on my RU-vid Channel. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! Lou

Can you camp in the winter there
@LivingOurDreamNow

Not many folks would want to camp in this area of West Virginia during the winter. With that said, I don't know the answer to your question. Spring, Summer, and Fall, I know this area is open.
