The Descend on Bend event is held very close to this location. You see the Hole in The Ground in many of the attendee's video's. They seem to get some interesting vehicles into that event! Thanks for the video.

Oh Wow! Taking me back in time❤. Spent a lot of time exploring the Fort Rock Basin when I lived in Bend 35+ years ago! It hasn't changed😊. Remember those roads well😂. Thanks so much for sharing this! We camped and biked there many times and loved having it all to ourselves. A favorite part of the country.

Very cool location. Love the big rock circle. I could build a hut and live there 😄. Roodle sure was having a good ole time. Will he need any new clothes for the Alaska winter? I hope that works out for you because it will be a blast to see him playing in those big snows. Take care guys. 🥰🌿♥️

That rock area wood thing looked like a ski rack. I wonder if they can cross country ski there in the winter? A great place to stop n make hot cocoa n smores along the way ❤ How old is Roodle?

It seems awfully dry to be this early in the season. On this day in 2018 we departed CA for Alaska. That was in a 2006 Highlander, two years before we bought our 2014 converted Promaster. Have a great trip. We'll be seeing you!

You see so much of the country! Yet so much more to see so keep going! Does Roodle have ear mites? He seemed to be shaking his head a lot which I haven't noticed before. What a lucky pooch.

Great job editing Carrie. I liked the brief recap of last week's adventure and the route map displayed leading to the new location. Thanks Dave for sharing the campsite and clearance info. That one campsite with the junipers and big boulders was very nice. Not much edibles around I'm guessing. I'll see you both next week until then keep on enjoying the moments and safe travels.

That’s a great camp loop. Another reason I got the Rv I got because I definitely noticed the hills and rocks in the road. Gotta watch that oil pan. I may have to try going down the crater, another reason to get that front locker 😂

In a few months I'll have an AWD lifted Ford Transit for my home. Really looking forward to exploring more of my home state (Oregon), but I think I'll be too late to head to Alaska this year.

We drove there a couple of years ago in our 2WD Sprinter. Once was enough for me. I wonder if the "roads" are purposely neglected to discourage more visitors and the inevitable trash. But it's sad because it prevents a lot of people from seeing it. We got there by using satellite view on google maps and just driving towards it, because the roads/trails go in every direction with no signs. (I hope you stopped at Fort Rock, because it was unexpectedly impressive, and the road was good.)

In my opinion that stick with the groves is to hold rifles. It is a hunting camp. My mother told me that when she was younger, teenager age folds would hold dances and bond fires at the bottom.

Man, that guy on the pickup truck, either stolen or a rental. There is no way someone would drive that crazy. Just imagine his groceries at the end of that drive 😂

We started taking the ebikes camping with us, game changers. Hopefully, an ebike company will sponsor this channel and donate a couple of bikes. Always impressed with Dave's ability to take a promaster where none has gone before. 👍👍👍

+@Scrambler85 we get invites all the time but Dave is doing his research and needs one with good suspension for his back…. We learned this the hard way! Oh and space is EXTREMELY limited. We will only have enough space for one (which is fine) but it will need to be mounted on the front of the van. So more research for from bumper and bike racks. I think he has got it narrowed down so maybe after Alaska.

Great video We know what we do to protect Dogg from ticks etc. What do you guys do for Roodle? Dogg also gets a snake shot every spring.
@oneadVANtureatatime
@oneadVANtureatatime 4 месяца назад
+@DoggsLife2019 in the west we don’t really have to worry about ticks very much. He gets his monthly flea and tick medicine. Other than that we do a tick check every night…. It’s more of a attention giving doggy massage. In the east ticks are INSANE! We got him his Lyme shot as nothing we did kept the ticks off! In Tennessee we pulled 26 crawling ticks off him from a short walk. What do you do?
@DoggsLife2019
@DoggsLife2019 4 месяца назад
@@oneadVANtureatatime we check him for ticks after every hike Give him interceptor and Bravecto We don't have Lyme in Oklahoma so don't worry about that. Do you ever think about a snake shot?
@oneadVANtureatatime
@oneadVANtureatatime 4 месяца назад
We did the Rattlesnake shot for our Shepard when we were backpacking but have never done it for Roodle. We are very snake aware when it’s that time of year. We keep him on a leash and between us. Since we’ve been in the van we have not encountered any rattlesnakes and very few snakes in general. If we were stationary in a high snake area we would definitely consider the snake shot.
