The best edc pliers are probably the Knipex Cobra 125's and most people who carry them also carry a flashlight. I have carried both for the last few years and I found an easy way to make them work together to make the flashlight more useful.
The same idea will work with a larger flashlight, you'll just want to use larger Knipex Cobra pliers.
If you do not already have a bicycle tube, your local bike shop will probably let you have a blown out one for free. They are great for making rubber bands. That is actually what ranger bands are made from.
