I too use the plastic containers, since they come in all shapes and sizes. However, on the cheap, do not overlook plastic drinking cups, as a pack of 50 or 100 is cheaper than seedling trays. They are generally deeper as well, so you don't have to "up pot", as much. Just be sure to add a couple of drainage holes in the bottom and don't use the brittle cups. Another cheap tip, if you have a heated floor, use that as your heat mat. I use my bathroom floor until germination, then I move the plants to the light room. If you don't have a dome to cover the seeds, use a piece of cardboard or plastic wrap to cover until they germinate. You most likely, will not have to water your seeds again until AFTER they germinate and you remove the cover.

Excellent, i just made a pot out of the same kind of container for three of my seedlings a couple nights ago wihout dividers though and theyre just sharing their new home together. Avocado seed, honey mango seed and another avocado seed. I hadnt thought of humidity domes until a couple days ago. You made this video very clear to understand, thanks for making it.

I did this on my own, but didn't think to make compartments! Great idea. I also used old iced coffee cups with the lids on and poked the straw hole to be bigger to allow ventilation. This also worked really well too!

I definitely like the idea of using these containers for something else rather than just tossing them. We have too many 1-use items going all over to different packaging or shipping needs and we really need to think 2x about just throwing it away after one time. Your pea seedlings are a bit leggy but that's related to the light source, not to this great idea of reusing the container to germinate and make seedlings. Thanks for the video!

Hi Jag, sometimes videos are so confusing. I boughy potting mix to grow seedlings then read that seedling soil is required then got the same. And your method is so simple. You just told to use garden soil thus saves money. Which means we can grow seedlings with garden soil too. Thanks again, Inder Canada 🇨🇦
