I remember being very into the first robocraft game, but over time it became pay to win and then the game died. It’s sad because it was very fun. I hope this one is just as fun if not better

Honestly if there is anything that i would want you to do in this game is just, build stuff, explore the game and have fun. You can build a flyer, or a smaller vehicles with a custom made turret or anything!

What I liked about robocraft one is the way the stats get made. Basically, the heavier your vehicle is, the less damage your weapons do

Wow. I've played Robocraft "one" since the beginning of the game, maybe back in 2014.... I used to build quadcopters, or drones. So fun!!

Robocraft was a banger when I played it, to was so fun to just hop in a game and rain chaos with launchers, or cling to walls like a spider and snipe away, I would love it if you played this a bit more on your channel!

I remeber when getting Steam for the first time years ago, Robocraft 1 was one of the first games I played.

One of my favorite dumb thing to do in the original robocraft (at low tier) was to basically make a small floating craft with a sniper/cannon on the bottom and just snipe people while being a speck at the top of the map. Wasn’t the most helpful but it was always a giggle

do an air battle but you are only allowed to use one flap for up and down so you have to go up and you have to turn with the same flap

There's a game similar to this that i would love to see you play, a 5v5 (or 2v2 / ffa) mech battling game called mech arena : robot showdown It doesn't have a build mode so you can't build custom mechs but you can really customize the mechs builds, the only 3 problems are the p2w, the bots (sometimes) and the matchmaking (sometimes)

Skrapman look into the build mechanics of this game, it's not like the games you are used to. The way two blocks are connected has a lot to do with how durable your creation is. The building in this game and the original is very deep, even taking into account how damage propagates through the build is something you can control. That is why your cannon fell off so easy and that guy you shot at never lost his even when it was hanging by a thread. Look up some videos from the original game on the subject, try forcing to get an idea what you're up against.

I really liked the first game, but unfortunately it wasn't that popular and I had trouble finding matches and when I did i was often against a 3-5 man team who is coordinating

I played the original. It was great when they allowed really creative building. But they slowly kept taking that away. Used to be able to route damage, they took that away. Used to be able to make an escape pod for your cockpit, they took the cockpit away. Used to only be able to use one type of weapon giving each a class, took that away. Railguns used to be a game of find the cockpit, the took that away. Used to encourage creative engineering, now only encourages large as possible.

Robocraft was a lot of fun back in the day! Definitely one of the earlier vehicle builder/battlers. I would love to see more Robocraft 2 content after it fully releases. There can be a lot of strategy with the vehicle building, and flying hover vehicles are a lot of fun to build. Plasma cannons are like mortars, and rail guns are like snipers. People build super whacky things to try and break the game, and it always leads to hilarious moments

14:57 yes, lesers are way better at capturing points than plasma. And yes plasma is better against grounded enemies, while lasers are better against hard to hit flyers.

I'm so glad to see this. By the way once you unlock powered joints you should definitely try making some melee bots. They're really fun to play

As far as i can say you didn't miss anything. I loved the first one but it was waaay more primitive in terms of building. Now we finally have rotators and custom turrets etc. that wasn't even possible before. Scaleable blocks had me gasping.^^

here's hoping 2 doesn't go down the same route as the first, It'd be nice to enjoy robocraft again

Robocraft 1 was pretty good, until it's developers made some stupid changes that essentially demonietized their own game. Turns out game developers need money to work on games, as weird as that sounds to some people. Let's hope that doesn't happen again, eh. ¯\(°_o)/¯ I think it's pretty sick how modular this new one is. You can even have multi-person vehicles now :'0

I used to play the first one, I loved it, and was always trying to create flying vehicles, but they quickly became unusable due to AA. Furthermore, the pay to win, and the removal of the single player mode (or maybe it didn't give anything anymore, but also sucked at the game... so I used to play that instead, it was fun for me), just about killed my interest in playing. The system seems basically the same of Gamecraft, another game I loved for the freedom and flexibility (and even bought), but they removed it, and that still kinda ticks me off... Hope they will be able to actually maintain a good game, but for the forseable future, I wouldn't fully bet on it.

I played robocraft 1 in it's earlier years and it was sooo much better than it is now. The sequel is nothing like the first game, so you had to have that learning experience either way.

I'd actually love to see scrapman do more builds on this game. Especially flying vehicles or really big ones

Holy Sh*t... I have so many memories with Robocraft1 I was there when flying crates was most cancerous crap, auto aim on repair gun was overpowered and auto repair was not a thing (yet) Im so glad its getting a sequel!!

So happy to see Robocraft back for round 2! Bit of a Robocraft veteran here as I used to play it a lot during various parts of its lifespan. This game was ahead of its time for vehicle builders. Basically Minecraft meets Team Fortress 2 with unprecidented levels of creativity. I managed to get premium for life during one of the early sales which is a rather interesting idea for premium. This game was amazing during its early and mid life, but fell off hard towards the last few years when they made A LOT of questionable design decisions like lootboxes and odd balance changes. For some reason, they decided to try balancing damage and CPU count by directly linking the two. Meaning, if you had a high CPU count, you dealt very little damage, but if you had a low CPU count, you dealt a ton of damage. What this ended up causing was the most effective vehicle being a sniper with a single helicopter blade attached that just stuck to the height limit. That or you just had a ton of cookie-cutter cloaking shotgun builds that everyone copied off the workshop. They also just removed fun playstyles by making the already weak medic beams not deal damage, making melee weapons consume energy to use, and making you only able to activate one weapon type at a time. Then there was the fact that they drastically began to oversimplify the physics of the game's flight and damage mechanics(anyone here remember the good old days of tri-forcing where part placement actually mattered rather than just raw health?). Well, here's hoping that they learned and stick to what made the game good for Robocraft 2. First, the destructible control points are such an interesting mechanic that makes it much more interesting than tank/scout just stands on point. Second and most importantly, the freedom with building. I remember one of my most effective creations was not a finely tuned and highly optimized battle bot of which I had several. It was a four legged walker shaped like an Espeon from Pokemon with surprising accuracy. For some reason, it was amazing at healing allies and bombing enemies. The tail unintentionally acted as a disposable shield. You didn't see all that many artbots, but yikes....that Espeon absolutely owned on the battlefield with elegance. Then there were some goofy builds like a one-wheeled motorcycle from Pokemon Colosseum, a beautiful pixel-perfect shiny crimson Doublade, and a couple of Starship Enterprises. You could do so much with their building system. They even had megabots if you really wanted to push the CPU limit. Melee also used to be extremely powerful back in the day, but you could never get mad at them because of just how difficult and satisfying it was to actually use in practice. It's a game that I always remember fondly despite how frustrating it could be at times. One thing I remember is that every weapon felt overpowered against you until you tried it yourself. Then it felt useless until you actually figured out how to use it properly. It was an odd phenomenon. I was sad though when I heard that the original was being shut down and being replaced by a battle royale with RobocraftX. The game had been going downhill for a long time though, so it wasn't too surprising. What is surprising though, it that apparently, it wasn't shut down after all? Not sure what happened there. I'm so happy from the footage you have shown so far. While it does look like they kind of reused a lot of assets and map designs, everything has been updated and modernized. It manages to retain that nostalgia while also looking new. I do hope that you continue to make videos on this game. PvP or PvE could be an interesting way to spice up Workshop Hunters. Or it would be interesting just to see what kind of crazy designs you can build in this game. Overall, just thank you for letting me know that this game exists. I'll certainly be looking forward to its release!

I don’t get why you’d make a robocraft 2, when you could just roll back robocraft 1 by a few years of changes and get back 99% of your player base.

The 1st game was amazing a few years ago with thousands of players daily. I dont know how or why the devs changed the game, but its such a huge downgrade. I know this is the 2nd game but the original is similar to this but different mechanics

Can you bring Kan or Cosmo to Robocraft and create fun vehicles, maybe even vehicles that connect?
