Back out in the water coastal foraging for lobsters in Scotland but someone was out of practice! I had not been in the water for a while and my breath hold shows this. The camera makes it look far away but a friendly seal came to join us which was nice.
I really enjoy the freediving as it’s so relaxing once you are under the water. I hope you enjoy this video with the background music element.
As the channel grows I am going to start putting more videos up mostly based around Shore fishing UK, Coastal Foraging and Freediving. I am also hoping to get some nice catch and cook videos online in the summer months.
If you want to look at my Instagram page this can be found here: / coastline_fishing_fife

Hey mate, really enjoyed this video! Having very soft music over diving and a voice over aswell works great! I would recommend adding some extras, I will leave a short list below. - Use eye catching photos for thumbnails and titles that jump out to viewers - Create a page brand ( like a theme, colour scheme, logo [canva is a good free website] that people can ID you by) - Add loads of hashtags into your videos (nature, UK, wildlife, survival etc etc, absolutely anything related!) - Use your skills and ability to create content that people may search up (catch and cook is a great one, how to find certain organisms etc and others of the sort) - Collaborate with other content creators. - most importantly check out similar RU-vid channels and see how they do what they do. There's always lessons to be learned! Good luck with everything, I will be following the channel!

Hi Callum. Thanks for stopping by and watching the video. I really appreciate that tips you have given there and I’m going to look into them and start implementing them. Thanks again. Ben.

We should do a 24 hour challange but you dont have that kinda time😭
@CoastlineFishing
@CoastlineFishing 2 года назад
If we can get a window of good conditions we won’t need 24 hours, we will be able to get a good feast in a few hours 😉

Hiya, it’s @7:21 but it’s only a brief clip of its head above the water. It was hard to film but he followed us for most of the dive.

its now illegal to take lobster while free diving
@CoastlineFishing
@CoastlineFishing Месяц назад
Thank you for the comment but that isn’t correct. There was a new rule passed in May that prevent the landing of any buried (egg carrying) lobster or brown crab. Also new controls over boats that are more than 12m in length and have landed more than 200 tones of lobster/crab in a 12 month period. However, for freediving we are still able to forage lobster/crab (as long as they aren’t buried.

@@CoastlineFishing "Never catch crabs or lobster by means of skin-diving, which includes using apparatus of any kind which enables a person to breathe under water. " i just copied that off the SFPA website

@@VeritySnatch thank you for this but you are referring rules from a different area. I have checked with marine Scotland and there are no restrictions on the amount you can land as long as they aren’t under or over the size limits and are not carrying eggs.

@CoastlineFishing
@CoastlineFishing Месяц назад
@@VeritySnatch it’s good to question it, it can be confusing as each area has its own rules. For example the east coast of Scotland has a 87mm minimum landing size, the west cost is 90mm, always good to check the rules, happy diving 👍🏼

Firstly good on you for thinking about safety and getting a dive buddy, very important. I joined lots of Facebook groups in my local area, I found this a good way to meet new divers.
