I love black soap it cleared my face from dark spots and it doesn’t give that stripped feeling when I wash my hair 10/10

I really appreciate this video. Have had my locs for 19 years and teansitio ed to free form locs 4 years ago. Used to use tea tree shampoo non residue shampoo for many years. Switched to raw african black soap this year and absolutely love it. The only oil I use when I use oil in my hair is Jamaican Black Castor Oil. And it's like you said. It is truly all that I need. With free form locs, I feel that less is more. I have always had thin natural eye brows. Will try putting the oil on them. Thanks for the late tip and for this video. Peace and blessings from Delaware.

@@AmberLoryn , Thank you Amber. I am also 3 years and feel so encourage by your timing of 3 years. I learned through trial and error to leave my Locs to thrive with simplicity maintainece . I am sold on keeping locs moisture not soaked with water but a balance of both oil and fav water, I am not as addicted on product like I was when my hair was loose. I think at some point I may clip the ends to keep the locs stylish and growing in healthy.

New subbie. You are so pretty. Your hair is so thick and full. Your locs are beautiful. I'm 5 mths braid loc'd. My first time hearing someone say that they wash their hair with black soap or any soap. I personally still use shampoo and conditioner. I probably shouldn't be doing that. 😂🤣. Very informative video!! ❤🙏🏻

what’s ur views on leave in conditioners cuz i feel like i have really dry hair and i don’t like putting cream products but it helps give me moisture that oiling doesn’t on its own. also i have bleached and colored treated hair so that has caused me to have extra dryness

How often should I actually wash my hair w/ the black soap if I have mature locs
@AmberLoryn
@AmberLoryn 2 года назад
I personally wash my hair once a month. If your hair gets dirty faster then you can do every 2 weeks. Rinsing a few times a week without soap is good for lowering the amount of dirt in your hair in between washes too.

I currently live in the U.K. and finding a loctician, where I live is like finding a needle in a haystack. I want to start semi-free form locs, and I'm starting on short 4b, thin hair. I two strand twisted as a trial run and found I can get 60 locs, not too big or small. What products do I use to start my loc's and how often do I wash and re-twist? Thank you.

Thank you for posting this video!! I recently started freeform locs and I have some thinning, so your suggestions are appreciated. How do you get combat frizz? Does the soap or oil help with it?
@AmberLoryn

you’re welcome! glad it’s helpful. i don’t have issues with frizz, but that might be because of my hair texture. light oil may help!

By any chance did you get a retwist because mostly when I see Freeform dreads they look bad and mashed together
@AmberLoryn
@AmberLoryn 6 месяцев назад
never had a retwist. most of my locs are the combination of 2-5 locs. the combining happened a lot in the first couple of years. they compacted so much that they began to look like regular locs, but they are flat. over the last few months (mid 2023), they started combining again, so now i have groups of 2-4 locs combined at the root. they will eventually combine all the way and be even thicker :)
