People are really struggling to understand the point of the video it's not about how good a fl2 can be or about driving skill but purely what if any difference the various settings make even when the tires are not terrain appropriate. Good vid I enjoyed it mate
Just trying to show the difference between MODES, and what you can do with this car with the normal "set up", not upgraded for off-road. The tyres set up makes a big difference for sure.
For 1800kg kerb, I think 420nm torque and 140kw is just right... As a soft roader, it does a great job... and I quietly think it is the bargain secondhand buy. Essentially an Evoque with a more stout, Range Rover-ish shell for a 1/3 of the price.... Yes please.
The LR Terrain Response system doesnt work under ~2k revs due to the risk of stalling the car by braking the spinning wheel(s). You need to hold the revs over 2000 rpm for the TCS to work. first time I tried my FL2 off road I did the same and thought I was stuck, then revved it higher and it drove out of the mud. Just close the windows before revving the car in a mud puddle!
That is not properly correct. The differentiat locks don't acts below those rpm. But the terrain response also controls the acceleration, spenning and break . This others parameters are controlled with independence of the rpm.
Last winter I got stuck on a terrain that seemed simple, I was in TR auto mode. Both front wheels muddy. the rear ones on hard and flat ground. I put the traction in mood mode and only the front wheels were driving, the rear wheels did not move....what did I do wrong????...should I have put the mood mode before entering the mud...????
Yes, I get your point. The video it is about how the 4x4 sistem works with road tyres, if you put AT tyres it would be the same in all modes. Nobody (would use road tyres) it's for those who have an SUV and they rarely go off the road not offroading.
The video it's about the car finding grip with normal road tires and how different modes are working when activated. If the car had A/T tires it would just go up, right?! 90% of the 4x4's are on road tires these days and my video's are about what you can do with that setup.
