Just because Archbishop Elpidophoros endorsed a book, written by a Freemason, it doesn't prove he is a Freemason. To suggest otherwise, would commit the fallacy of guilt by association. The endorsement only proves acceptance of the book, which is about politics and philosophy, not an endorsement of Freemasonry itself.

In AG's video "Scientific Proof of the Great Apostasy", he said that light-witted people say that there are no Masons in the Antiochian Orthodox Church. That would be a straw-man argument if he was referring to me, because I never made that claim. My claim was that he failed to supply primary source documentation that any living Antiochian Orthodox clergyman is a Mason. In his video he referenced several Masons, but only cited a source for Chrysostom of Smyrna (died 1922). He also failed to give proof for his claim that the Ahepa Lodge is Masonic. I don't deny that there have been Masons in Orthodox history. But my original point is that AG has not cited any primary sources that any living Orthodox clergyman is a Mason. Until a primary source is given, his claims amount to hearsay.
In a video Archbishop Gregory once advised people to lie, in order to avoid praying with heretics in their building. He advised people to say they are sick, so they are unable to attend the service with heretics. He said Orthodox Christians can attend a reception and see the burial plot of the deceased, but not pray with them (which is true); but lying is immoral and sinful. Try being honest, trust God, and tell the people in charge that you are forbidden to pray with non-Orthodox people, or tell them that you wish to be excused for a personal reason, but don't lie. St. Paul instructs Christians to utter the truth with their neighbor (Ephesians 4:25). What kind of a bishop instructs people to sin? Good pastors never build bridges with sin. AG once misquoted St. John Chrysostom. On his website he correctly quoted him using the word "Catholic," and gave the source; but when he quoted the same text in a video, he replaced the word "Catholic" with the word "Orthodox." Who is this man to change the writing of a Church Father? AG is not an entirely honest or ethical person. Since he believes lying is permissible in certain circumstances, there is no way to know with objective certainty that any of his polemical information against other groups and church leaders is factually correct. He seems to believe lying is permissible if he thinks the end justifies the means. I also want to remind people that AG used copyrighted material from HOCNA and was sued for it. He also recorded a phone conversation which is illegal. Since Archbishop Gregory is dishonest and unethical, he has no business guiding souls.
